Let me summarize my experience:

Negatives: The price doesn’t match the quality. I’ve stayed in many “high-end” places, and this is by far the worst. The rooms are outdated and lack intuitive design. I ordered room service, and it was terrible.

Positives: The location is excellent, the property is beautiful, and the views are amazing.

Overall: I would say it’s not worth the price, and there are probably better options available at a much better rate.

The hotel and location is beautiful ! Truly special place and that you have a pool near by is a bonus as well ! The room has all we needed and more , decor attention to detail beautiful. The view of all island from the terrace beautiful, all facilities lovely

However few things could be improved…
Drinks offered on arrival never came ..
We popped for an upgrade with jacuzzi .. not worth it, as jacuzzi was like a chlorine bath ( not very inviting) or very attractive to use , honestly …
The bedroom next to restaurant , even if it’s Michelin star .. but noise from loud guests can be disturbing..

Otherwise it’s a unique property and must visit at least once !

Incredible hotel within Mdina with a lot of history. The staff are very attentive and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The room had a beautiful Terrance with a hot tub. Thank you Tommy!

Had the best birthday there. Service and rooms were exceptional. The food at The de Mondion Restaurant was also incredible. I booked it for my birthday evening and would highly recommend the experience. Nice gestures like a Happy Birthday wish with dessert and a card.

Excellent hotel but room 7 is awful. The restaurant is upstairs. I think the kitchen is directly above this room. It's currently 11:25 PM and all I can hear is stomping and moving of furniture/equipment above my room. It was the same way last night. Room 7 is not a basic room, it is an "Executive Duplex Suite with Terrace and Jacuzzi" with the price tag to match. I do not recommend this room.

Mdina is gorgeous, views are stunning, hotel has a lot to be desired. Damp, dirty rooms, no sound proofing and certainly don't abide by the rules of no pets !!
There are better places to stay and much cheaper with better service.

After a long period of isolation we returned and were greeted with the same smile and politeness as before. A very filling lunch followed. Great atmosphere as always with great service.

Despite many trips to Malta in excellent hotels, the Xara Palace places such a high standard that it will be difficult to find better. In addition to being located in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and having an incredible view of the island, I have never experienced such kindness from the staff. Always attentive, ready to advise you and full of little attentions to you, it is completely impossible to be disappointed. We really can't wait to come back. Thank you all for making this trip so magical.

Love the place. The room is very comfortable and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It is very close to everything; restaurants, shops and churches.
