Grand Hotel Excelsior, Valetta1 / 39
9.2
Valetta, Great Siege Road 🧭 Map
We visited this hotel last year and loved it. However we’ve recently been back and had to wait till well after 3pm for our room (check in 3pm)which meant we wasted a lot of our first day
The swift check-in included a complimentary upgrade to a full sea-view room. Celebrating my partner's birthday, the hotel went above and beyond
It is supposed to be a five star hotel, unfortunately it is showing signs of fatigue. The tiles in the bath room are chipped and has become hard to clean as a result
The balcony was directly facing the small harbour where coincidentally some yachts were preparing for the Rolex Middle Sea race (please see photos). Many of the crews were also, not surprisingly, staying at the hotel
However, service remains good and the breakfast offers a good choice. There is a small private beach which allows bathing in the sea with fish swimming around you, which was very pleasant
Excellent hotel and superb location for visiting Valletta (10 minutes walk to the City Gate and the bus station). We booked for 5 nights and at check-in were given a complementary upgrade to a sea view room

I attended a conference at The Phoenicia Hotel and was impressed by the well-equipped meeting facilities and the attentive service. The lunch provided was excellent, showcasing fresh and flavorful dishes
Perfectly located at the city walls, close to everything but away from the bustling crowds. The rooms are gorgeous, spacious, lovely views, well equipped, big wardrobe, comfortable bathroom
I decided to celebrate my birthday here and I had an amazing experience and pleasure stay. Not only the hotel itself is beautiful, but also the staff and their services are amazing as well
From receptionist, all staff around lounge, room service, breakfast service, garden staff, then to management, I can say that Phoenicia did a job well done keeping their staff professional and well mannered which impress me to have a warm and comfortable stay
The Phoencia is a wonderful hotel. All of the staff are courteous, efficient and friendly, and they all seem happy in their work. The rooms are spotless and the restaurant is excellent
A special mention to the restaurant breakfast staff who work very hard and were very busy on Sunday, but made the time to clear a prepare a table in the conservatory

Superb seaside pool 5 mins walk from the main building. Great location with easy access to Valletta. Staff are amazing - very friendly and professional. Hats off to the team - you are doing a great job ❤️
The beach club was 2 minutes walk from the hotel and can be used for free if you’re staying at the hotel. We always had available sunbeds, though I would recommend to arrive early
It has access to the sea as well, the pool is reasonable size with sea water. The hotel also has a rooftop pool with fewer sunbeds, free of charge. We stayed in the family room, the bed was very large, could fit 3 people
The service however? Outstanding! Cannot thank the staff enough for the warm welcomes, excellent service and kindness especially to Kristian, Njambe and Marie who we met in the pool and then became our group tour host
All of them greeted us like old friends and gave us tips how to enjoy Malta like a local. We will be definitely be coming back again
The room was a lot smaller than we thought but it’s okay since we’re not in our room all the time anyway

Sliema, 42 Tigné Seafront 🧭 Map
The hotel is located in the Slieme district. There are nearby many options from food to clothing with a shopping center. It is on the seaside and it gets busy and crowded at night
Rooms are great, and you can either have sea view or inside one
Welcoming hotel bar on the first floor (also part of Hammett's Monastik restaurant) with comfortable seats, a sunny balcony and a stunning view of Valetta's citadel
The bed was super comfortable, and waking up to that gorgeous sea view was just perfect
Land's End Boutique Hotel is a truly wonderful place and highly recommended! The hotel boasts a spectacular view of the bay and Valletta, both from the balcony and the restaurant, creating a breathtaking experience from morning to evening
Breakfast has as options from all the items of the English breakfast ( bacon, eggs, sausages, beans etc ) to croissants, different kinds of breads, yogurts etc. recommended for both business and holidays

Hydra spa is relaxing. There are two pools one in a garden setting and one by the sea - each have their own charm.
Air conditioning worked well but was noisy at night. Hotel had two pools one overlooking sea and Valletta. We had "dine around" eating with good selection of restaurants
Great hotel! The bad reviews of this hotel is mainly based on the cheap 4-star sister hotel. At the 5-star hotel, we stayed in the luxurious spa bedrooms with private pool. ❤️
Sleima and itis next to sea front
Apparently they are closing it next year according to the holiday rep and this would make sense as the rooms needed updating and the food needs improving. The front of house staff were not very friendly
Nice hotel, superb view at Valetta acros the boulevard and harbour from seaside rooms. Lobby quite small and a bit outdated. Shopping mall 'The Point' around the corner with supermarket at the -1 level

Sliema, Tigne Seafront 🧭 Map
The room was noisy because of the outside air conditioning, and the drainage of other rooms was very loud. The mattress was too soft to our liking, which I know is very subjective
The hotel is centrally located, making it easy to get around. It’s less than a 5-minute walk to the ferry that takes you to Valletta, and the surrounding area is very convenient
The room was clean and fulfilled its purpose. Well situated near the harbour, restaurants, and shops. The adjoining restaurant has good quality food and service
We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a family room, which was spacious and included a fridge—very handy for longer stays
The hotel is in a great location🔝. The room was clean, the cleaning service was daily☺️The employees are very kind and approachable🤗
+ The hotel very good in location I booked earlier with eco room price 120€ but the day that i am check in price go down to 45€ that is very bad They didn’t offer the upgrade room to us The bed too small for 2 people Room very small and noisy Not worth for 120€ per night Not recommended 😒

Out if this world room and service. Cannot recommend it highly enough. The Jacuzzi was a god send after the long flight. The room was comfortable, cozy, clean and modern. The balcony had an amazing view of the harbour
The breakfast buffet is fine with lots to chose from but for two days there was no fresh bread and some rolls were very hard. There are cooked breakfasts available at a small extra cost
Wonderful panoramic view. Staff very accommodating and enjoyed stopping off for a coffee or two between work meetings. I didn't stay at the hotel so I cannot comment on that aspect.
Friendly hosts, clean throughout, great views of the harbour (from penthouse rooms), comfy beds. No toilet door, if you are squeamish, one of you will have to go and wait on terrace
The breakfast was very good and plentiful. Too plentiful! I was not hungry the rest of the day! If I am fortunate enough to return to valletta I will be staying here!
It’s our second time here and we love this hotel and the view from our room. The beds are comfortable & Air con good

The bathroom was fresh and nice with a big walk in shower. Originally I thought it was a bit expensive, but the level of service and general state of accommodation exceeded my expectation
🌿If you are a lover of inner courtyards , patterned tiles and old stones then this is your perfect vacation home! ⏳When you enter the building you feel the beauty brought by centuries
The rooms are delicately decorated and the beds are very comfortable with a lot of pillows. The room itself did not have a window, but with a one way glass door you hardly noticed the lack of view
The king-size beds, the absolutely gorgeous antique patterned tiles, bespoke urban furniture, and luxurious bathroom equipped with gorgeous rain shower are fit for a First Lady
🗝The mix of traditional and modern elements in rooms seems stunning, plus the bed is super comfortable!🛌 🛎The staff is welcoming and always available and makes you feel home

One is spoilt for choice if you want to dine out. The Hotel itself caters for the tourist who needs to getaway and relax, complete with outside jacuzzi if requested. The views from the terrace are amazing
50th Hotel is walking distance from attractions such as the Vittoriosa fortifications, the Inquisitor's Palace, the War rooms, the Maritime museum, the Vittoriosa waterfront and much more
Very good receiving, rooms are very clean and every day they do room service especially the breakfast how they arrange very nice, finally beautiful hotel
A quant and luxurious boutique hotel in the heart of Vittoriosa, one of three cities built by the Knights of the Order of St John in the 17th century
The room compliments the rest of the Hotel as it is comfortable to a T. Thank you for welcoming us to a weekend away from a hectic lifestyle

Valetta, 47 Battery Street 🧭 Map
And yes, speaking of pollution, this spot is close to net Zero emission because there is very little access to vehicles around this area and the sea breeze makes trips back and forth, refreshing the atmosphere
Really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Harbour Hotel. The location couldn't have been better for sightseeing. The staff were all friendly and helpful with any queries
The room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable and our side view over the harbour was lovely. The church bells were not a problem to us and only heard them when the door was open. The bed and pillows were comfy
There is also a relaxation area outside the hotel, I don't think it is part of the hotel but it sure is a good spot for morning coffee while drinking-in the relaxing view of the harbour
The room had a safe and a coffee/tea making facilities. The shower had plenty of hot water. The air con was good and quiet
The stay at the hotel was priceless, and whoever booked a sea-view room and rated it lower than 5, should have an eye check-up! The room was super clean and bright, with a coffee and tea setup

Beautiful yacht. Great location with amazing view. Lovely host. Very clean and comfortable. Fun experience!!
Amazing experience in front of Valetta old town! Super friendly owners full of precious advices.
Great experience. Incredible view.
The location is marvellous, with excellent access to the main city centre by boat, a wonderful view of the sun setting over the old city, and secluded places to swim nearby
Our host gave excellent advice on the best sights in Malta for first-time visitors to see, and helped us source the best boat taxi to use to get to Valetta city centre
Very comfortable and the host was extremely helpful. In a non tourist area but with easy access to Valletta. Altogether a lovely experience

Valetta, 247 Saint Paul Street 🧭 Map
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Gomerino Hotel in Malta, and I can confidently say it was an amazing experience! The hotel's location is simply unbeatable, situated right in the heart of Malta's Storico vibrant atmosphere, making it easy to explore nearby attractions
One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. It was delicious and offered a great variety, ensuring a perfect start to each day. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is the superb rooftop view of the harbor
The rooftop bar was nice and inexpensive. One criticism: The breakfast was a little average and the coffee was absolutely appalling. That said, the manager was really lovely and was certainly a star of the restaurant
The panoramic sights are breathtaking and, in my opinion, make the stay absolutely worth it. Overall, I highly recommend the Gomerino Hotel for anyone looking to experience the best of Malta
The staff at Gomerino Hotel truly made my stay memorable. Their courtesy and genuine intent to ensure that I enjoyed my time in Malta was evident from the moment we arrived
Very nice and clean and very modern!! :)

Valetta, 62 Melita street 🧭 Map
We had an exceptional stay at La Falconeria. We were very lucky to be upgraded to room 502 which has a terrace and stunning views over Valletta. The room was spacious, with a modern bathroom and air conditioning
We really enjoyed the cave-like pool! Great breakfast. Vwry central but also lovely and quiet
It was good taste, nothing noteworthy -the hotel is modern and cared for, massive terrace, nice tile floor, staff are soooo nice with friendly service Some of the constructive feedback: -should have more complimentary water in rooms, one bottle not enough -there should be a higher privacy screen between the terraces on the 5th floor, it's a little low to have comfortable tanning
maybe even just put tall bushes between -towels were scratchy for the otherwise high quality of the hotel, should be a bit better comfort -at check in or during the stay no one told us we could go to the sister hotel for rooftop pool if we wanted to
It's not a big deal but I only found out from Google reviews -the tile floors show off the dirt and hair and other stuff so you can tell that it's not cleaned (thoroughly?) -the lounge chairs on the terrace are bizarre shape
you can't lie flat on them, you have to awkwardly sit in them only. They'd be better off with just cheaper lie fast than the super funky designs

Valetta, Strait Street 173 🧭 Map
We're so happy to have found this place - it's amazing! The rooftop offers amazing views of the Valletta skyline and the dome of the church. It's a great place to enjoy drinks at sunset by the pool
We had an incredible stay at the Embassy Hotel in Valletta, Malta. The service was exceptional—every need we had was met promptly by the friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel
One of the highlights of our stay was spending peaceful days on the rooftop terrace and by the pool. Although it was sometimes tricky to find available sunbeds, we managed to snag a couple on a few lucky occasions
The rooftop staff were always welcoming and ready to assist, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. The rooftop pool itself was stunning, with breathtaking views of the city
Clothes worn on a Monday were still damp by Saturday, towels as well, and T-shirts wouldn’t dry (even though the air conditioning was on almost continuously)
The infinity design and glass barriers created a truly immersive panoramic view of Valletta

Great location, warm staff, beautiful room. Walkable to everything that matters in Valletta. It’s also near the Valletta-Sliema Ferry Terminal. I also loved that the bus terminal is about 10 mins away
The most beautiful hotel I Have ever been in there designer is amazing colour choices and decor, the thing that was disappointing was the noise ot the church bells through the nite and working early in morning in hotel
It is a fantastic small city hotel in the heart of Valletta. The staff were amiable and always willing to help. The room had everything you needed. There was a great selection for breakfast
Everywhere very clean + instant coffee, tea, kettle and 2 free water bottles are in the room. The breakfast was varied and sufficient, there were never any waiting times
Had a wonderful stay here: staff is terrific, location is the best and the hotel is very clean (cleaning lady is small but great at the same time!)
The rooms are typically small for Malta, but perfectly adequate. Plenty of storage space, bed a bit hard, but that will be a matter of taste
