To sum it up, this is an exceptionally warm and charming hotel that I would highly recommend.

East Indies Mansion is a beautifully converted hotel from a house with over two hundred years of history, and the building itself carries an incredible sense of heritage. Our four-day, three-night stay was not only comfortable but also incredibly heartwarming.

Although I typically stay at five-star hotels, I have to say this place matches, if not surpasses, any five-star hotel I’ve been to. It was spotlessly clean—I couldn’t find a single speck of dust. Despite the slightly mismatched proportions of the curtains to the windows and having only one bathroom in the room, the level of comfort more than makes up for these small quirks.

Ms. Anna, who welcomed us, was impressively efficient and kind. The two other staff members, both Indian, one male and one female, were equally friendly and accommodating. Lastly, the location couldn’t be better. Almost all of the key attractions are within walking distance, and even if you need transportation, it’s just a short ride away.

You really need to experience it for yourself to truly appreciate how wonderful this place is. I cannot recommend it enough—it’s a fantastic experience!

This is an excellent hotel in the heart of Little India. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. I couldn’t fault this place in any way.

The setting is like staying in a well-kept museum with beautiful common areas. The room itself was in our case more standard, but the service is beyond anything we’ve ever experienced. We cannot recommend it enough and were sincerely sad to leave the place after only three nights.

This place was amazing. You can read others review and this place was exactly what they said about how gorgeous this heritage boutique hotel was. It was quite, so comfy, hot water worked well, clean, walking distance everywhere, warm with the smile and keramahan pelayanannya. So lovely. Sorry for too many videos.. I just want to share the happiness.

We just loved Georgetown and this is a beautiful and distinctive boutique heritage hotel just on the edge of bustling Little India.

Perfect place for exploring - we stayed three nights but should have been longer. Next time!

The restoration is amazing and atmospheric. I really liked the nightly treats and spices left on your pillow.

What an amazing place to stay. My family of 10 from Singapore, USA and Australia spent 3 nights there and everyone was pleased which was the most important.
What a lovely lady IT is, she went above and beyond to make our stay such a pleasurable experience. The surprise local breakfast IT had purchased for us every morning was always delicious, also her honest , friendly, welcoming and professionalism is outstanding. Also a very big Thankyou to Shohidul for all your help and making my family and I very welcome, you were always willing to help and always with a smile on your face.
The place was so clean, comfortable and spacious in such a perfect location. Thankyou from all of us IT and Shohidul, we will definately stay there if we plan another holiday in Penang.

Had amazing experience at East Indies Mansion, conveniently located near all the heritage spots in Georgetown. Also, a special shout out to Ai Tee for her warm hospitality. Also rooms were spacious and clean! Stellar experience and hotel all in all. 5 stars!
