RedDoorz Premium at Balestier

A female receptionist at night is particularly unfriendly and has a very bad attitude. Men in the daytime are normal. I have an achilles tendon rupture so I asked for a room near the entrance or near the elevator, but I was given a room on the second floor farthest from the elevator! The floor is full of mold and the interior is not clean. A large number of small ants appear in the room and swarm around foods and my belongings. It is good that Wi-Fi is relatively stable and that there is a restaurant just under the hotel.

The place is conveniently located on one of the food streets. Plenty of food around. However, the entrance&lobby&lift looks a bit run down. The room is ok.

+Walking distance to Whampoa food centre

+Reasonably friendly staff

Cons
-Tiny (but I guess it is normal for SG)
-No hot water
-AC isnt cold
-You sleep on a cheap topper, not a proper mattress. (See pics)
-Noise fron outside (construction, traffic)
-Noise from inside hotel (thin walls, walk way, other rooms, even talking noises)
-Wifi not working properly. Keeps dropping and the signing-in and resigning-in (every time) is very annoying.
-No outlets by the bed which I think is very important as nowadays we sleep with our phones/tablets/etc. The outlet are all on the other side which means there is a power line stretches in the middle of the room to drag the extension cord to the bedside. (Thank god we brought the extension cord)

We think we will stay somewhat else next time.

Pros: Price is cheap. Staff were okay. Some were friendly and will smile. Some will not even look at you.
Cons:
1) Room was quite dirty. Visible dirt in the sink and the walls around the sink. Bathroom doors and walls were dirty.
2) Room service not done daily. Even when room service was called, they didn’t change towels and clean the room properly.
3) Be prepared for a very small room with hardly any space to walk.

Overall, I’d rather pay more for somewhere that is cleaner and has a bigger room. Will not be staying at reddoorz again.

Travel for Business . 2days stayed this hotel. Unfortunately I can’t sleep because noise from outside sounds come from vehicles on the roads. Asked for change the room but it’s not possible.Never come again very disappointed.

So many cockroaches in the room and it seemed there’s their nest somewhere in that room. We asked to change to a new room but unfortunately there’s no room left and no other options the staff could offer or help us. We left that hotel and had to find another place to sleep and got only few credits back in our booking app. We were so terrified by that experience even though it’s quite normal seeing cockroaches in Asia but please not in the room where we want to sleep peacefully.
