Marka Hotel

Location is great but it’s clear it’s an older hotel! Don’t expect spotless clean rooms because they are not. If you can look past this it’s great. Location is so central and perfect if you’re just sleeping there. Price is so good but worth booking directly with the hotel as it’s cheaper than online 3rd party platforms.
The air conditioner in the room is amazing - great for the current heatwave!

Don't even think about booking this hotel. This hotel charged me twice from my card - a huge amount of money, when I arrived at the hotel, they told me that payment was only in cash and the money from the card has not yet been returned.

ROOMS, it was very dirty and looked like it was not cleaned for months, and there were holes in the bedsheets.

SERVICE,it was terrible, and they did not clean our room. we complained to the desk, and they said it was not his problem

LOCATION,in the pictures, it says that you can walk from the back of the hotel onto the see but it is very far.30 min drive and 1½ to walk to the beach.

Positives: Location, Location, Location.
Staff are friendly and willing to help (don't always tell you everything).
Included breakfast which is hosted in nearby Piers hotel was decent - food runs out quick so go early and avoid tomatoes - food flies were there for several days... legend says they're still there.

Negatives: Avoid packages, not worth 40 euros each and the staff don't tell you everything you need e.g. Googles, slippers, and suitable clothes for the 'combo' (rafting and buggy) tour which we ended up paying 40 euros more for. Also, the other tours last 4-5 hours even though you're told till 6pm/all day and each tour forces you to go to some shopping centre or store for a while. I personally don't recommend doing City Tour or Green Canyon (esp in hot weather)

Towels.... stains and don't know when they last were washed
Bedsheets....*shudder*
WiFi... non-existent
Shower is just besides the toilet, no dividers and water goes everywhere

In sum, if you have to stay here you must be comfortable with all of the above and try and focus on the positives like the location and... yeah just the location.

Dear Owner,

I have no interest in writing false reviews and don't have the time for it frankly. I only wish to inform others about this hotel so that they may make a more informed decision.

Regarding the bedsheets, towels, and upkeep I was told by my own mother that she used a stained and ripped bedsheet for three consecutive days despite us asking the front desk to clean the room. Please don't try to impress your prospective guests with these false comments.

And regarding the tours, you act as an agency for the different companied that provide these tours, this is common throughout the world.

We booked three packages with you priced at 40 euros each person per package. First tour we arrived at the a different location for a completely different activity, luckily we booked another tour and we switched the two - the family who traveled with us from the same hotel paid to be driven another 2/3 hours back to the hotel.

The same (switched) tour required goggles, masks, and specialist footwear, none of which we had with us as we were never informed. We were told that all guests from the hotel complain about this very issue. Another 40 euros for that.

Second 'city' tour didn't last as long as was promised. Instead of spending more time at the locations we were taken to, we spent quite some time at a jewelry shop. This is part of most tours, unfortunately.

I'd just like to note that we have booked tour packages across the world including Morocco and even Istanbul (trip to Bursa), all of which have been amazing and clear as to what will happen and for how long, unlike the tours provided and promoted by you.

Again, this is not an attack at you or your hotel and I have no interest to do so. I am more than happy to get in contact with you and go through an analysis of our experience so that you may improve the Marks Otel experience.
