When we arrived, we were told that our room wasn’t ready because the hotel was overbooked. After a tiring 3-hour wait, we finally got into our room, only to find it hadn’t been properly cleaned. Even worse, there was a strong smell of mold that made the room unbearable.
We immediately brought this to the attention of the reception, but were informed that there were no other rooms available in our category. We had no choice but to spend the night in the room, and by the next morning, the mold smell was so overpowering that it started to irritate our throats.
When we approached customer support, they suggested giving us an air purifier, which didn’t seem like a real solution to the mold issue. We refused and eventually were moved to another room, which was a downgrade from what we originally booked. At least this room didn’t smell of mold.
It’s disappointing to see how much this hotel has declined, especially given its previously excellent reputation. From what we’ve learned, the management changed this year, and it seems that standards have dropped significantly since then. If you’re considering this hotel based on past reviews, be aware that it’s not what it used to be. We were expecting a much better experience and were left deeply disappointed.
