Based on the mixed reviews, we were hesitant to stay here. But we're glad we did! Everything about the stay was great. Parking is easy and not as expensive as other local hotels. We were greeted by a pleasant person at the front desk who was able to check us in early. (All three people we interacted with at the front desk were delightful.) The entire hotel was refurbished a few years ago. The common areas look brand new, as does the room. The carpeting, bed, other furnishings, bathroom, and window coverings all appeared new and in great condition. The buffet breakfast was also very good. We arrive there just after a large group, but the kitchen was able to keep the food items well stocked. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, refilling coffee and juice frequently. (I believe her name name was Mezza.) Overall, a great stay. We will be back!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I REPEAT, IF YOU VALUE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PEACE OF MIND, DO NOT STAY HERE!! The condensed version of this story is that we arrived, checked in, swiped our credit card and received our room keys. My husband unloaded several bags from the car and we prepared to go to our room. We would have approximately 45 minutes to get dressed for an event we were attending that evening. The hotel clerk flagged us down and told us that we would not be able to enter the room because there was a leak over the bed. They then told us that they were canceling our reservation and that we would need to get a room somewhere else because they oversold the hotel. We literally watched them check-in several guests that arrived after us. We explained that we had come in from out-of-town, prices were double at surrounding hotels, it was after 8 pm, and we were running late for an event that costs us $250 dollars. They offered no help at all. They were extremely rude. They refused to provide a receipt even though they had swiped my credit card. In an attempt to embarrass me the hotel clerk told me to call Expedia. I explained that I booked direct. I did not use a third party. I am an Elite member that averages 25 nights per year at Marriott hotels nationwide. This year

They then black listed me and told me I could never return to the hotel. 3 days later and the charge is still on my account. YES, they charged me for a room I never stepped foot into. The service at this hotel has always been substandard and not consistent with the Marriott brand, but I typically overlook that because it is located in the neighborhood I grew up in and it is close to family. DURING MY LAST VISIT THE EMPLOYEES WERE VAPING MARIJUANA IN THE RESTROOM. I am extremely disappointed in the response so far. SAVE YOURSELF. TRAVEL A FEW MORE MINUTES TO THE COURTYARD MARRIOTT IN THE MARINA. It costs a little more, but at least you'll be treated like a valued customer.
Oh and we never made it to our event because we had nowhere to get dressed.

I am very pleased with the service I received during my stay! This is one review you can depend on to be true and honest! I was only here for two nights but the check-in connection made me feel like I was at home with no worries. Cheyenne, the red head young lady 3-11, the two ladies 7-3 ;dark red and other was with platinum highlights and supervisor all played their roles in making this experience THE BEST! This is how the perfect example of a well ran property . Thank you team!

The hotel and rooms all looked and felt clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly and professional. The breakfast offered is decent and mine was covered with my stay, however, for most there is a charge and it’s rather expensive for a basic buffet. I wouldn’t have paid for it if circumstances were different. All in all nice stay. I only gave 3 stars for staff because I did get a call from one of the waitstaff to my room telling me I needed to pay for my breakfast and, rather than checking with the front desk, argued with me about it.

Avoid at all costs! The worst stay ever. Not the luxury name I remember. Service is absent. They don't clean your room and when they do, it's the bare minimum. The bathroom has absolutely no counter space. The bed was lumpy and slanted to one side! Woke up with a sore back. Dust covers everything (see photo attached) - hair all over the bathroom floor... And to top it off, the room keys are deactivated every day and in order to get back in your room after a long day, you'll need to go down to the front desk to get them reprogrammed. When I asked why it was happening and expressed my frustrating, the entitled young lady at the front desk, gave me total attitude like she didn't want to hear about it at all. They need to get rid of her! Her excuse was that we must have put the key cards next to a phone because that's what kills them. But nope. We didn't. And every day?? Sure seems like a problem work their system(s). What ever happened to, "I'm sorry you are having problems. Let's see what we can do to make your stay more enjoyable???

My son discovered some sort of staining on all the bedding after he saw something when it was held up to the light. And they only give you 2 sets of towels for 4 people! Shouldn't there be 1 set for each guest? How hard is that??
Sorry Sheraton, you've gone downhill, and it's really bad! You've lost my future business, I'm telling all friends, family and colleagues to stay far away.
And I hope this honest review may save some other poor souls, the agony and frustration that we had to endure during what was supposed to be a memorable special event.

I was picking up some clients at the hotel but while I was waiting for them, the staff was really friendly and helpful. They do have a big and nice bar.

Affordable down to earth, subdued luxury. Excellent location across from shopping & restaurants. Professional & polite staff at desk. Much better property than those next to LAX runways & at better price point. Short drive to Baldwin Hills Overlook that has best view of all of L.A. I'm hard to please, but this property has me very pleased! The 8th floor (highest floor) is reserved for SPG members & I'm greatly appreciative of having my status recognized!

I was surprised when I entered the hotel because it seemed so good. It seemed like they pumped in fresh flowers/lavender. The hotel was very clean and up to date. It looks like the recently remodeled.

It's not a 5 star hotel but I give it five stars because they have the nicest staff. Been staying here for years and love the location. Next to two malls and a park nearby for running and workouts. It's been nicely renovated as well. Gym is much nicer and I like having the safes in the rooms. I do wish that they had an airport shuttle but you can't have it all I guess. I travel around the world and this is one of my favorite places to stay.
