Hollywood Historic Hotel

Cool vibe, but not the most comfortable stay
The hotel has a fun, vintage feel and the location is decent — not far from Hollywood sights and easy to get around by car or rideshare.
That said, the room was really small, and street noise was a problem — you could hear cars passing by most of the night. Also, the front desk staff didn’t come across as very friendly. We arrived at 2:30 PM (check-in is at 3), and they wouldn’t let us check in early, even though the lobby was quiet and they didn’t seem busy.
Nice for the experience and style, but not the most welcoming or restful stay.

Cute Little Hotel. The area right around the hotel felt safe, and I was able to use public transportation to get around from the hotel.

Great little hotel in Hollywood. You are in walking distance to paramount studios, Koreatown and other good places. The building itself feels historic. I would recommend it and I would stay here again.

Safe & clean location, convenient to USH, Melrose and hollywood

The staff are nice and friendly. We got a corner room. The room is super spacious and comes with air conditioning, a heater, hot water for the shower, and a fridge. A microwave and an ice cube machine are available at the concierge level .Very nice backyard to enjoy your breakfast, there is cafe and bar at the next door. The room is old, and the floor is covered by thick carpet but makes squeaky sound when you walk. But no complaint since all basic needs covered. Paramount studio is within walking distance about 10mins walk. A LADOT bus stop just infront of the building. Location is convenient. Gas station is just opposite. Carpark is available with extra charge USD18/night. Room costs S$852 for 6 nights. Not sure if it’s cheap or expensive.

We stayed here for two nights a few weeks ago on the recommendation of friends.
We were not disappointed, as other reviews have said Michael, at the front desk, is a gem and he truly is!!
Betty from the front desk in the morning, was also very helpful and kind.
This hotel was clean, quaint, and the bar staff and food were also amazing.
This is a great historical hotel in a central location. We felt very safe and the parking lot is very secure.
The rooms were clean, the beds were a little soft, but still very comfy.
Highly recommend this property!

Michael was courteous & funny at the front desk. Beds were comfortable. Water pressure could be a bit better in the showers.
If you you have a room overlooking Melrose you can see the Hollywood sign (albeit a bit far away)

Hotel is conveniently located, very close to Walk of fame. The hotel is a bit old and need upgrading, however, room was very clean. The stuff was very friendly and gave me lots of recommendations.

Such a gem in LA. So reasonable and friendly. Comfortable and great location. The cafe on the corner serves the best coffee and croissants with an incredible selection of cakes. Such a great lady that runs the place. Definitely worth a visit!

We have stayed here twice and will absolutely stay again. As everyone has said, Michael is fantastic!! Great sense of humor and very accommodating, we love him! Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. EDMON next door is a great bar and restaurant. For those who have complained about the parking fee, good luck finding secure parking on the street in that part of Hollywood; we were happy to pay for that, and you can come and go all you want during your stay, and the lot is monitored. We love this hotel!
