Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia, an IHG Hotel

Stay was nice. Hotel charged me for stay even though Trip.Com also charged me. Weird.

Stayed for a Saturday and Sunday night for a weekend getaway to Philly for some sightseeing. The location is perfect for visiting the historic district, and there are a number of excellent restaurants in the area. We chose this hotel for the location as well as prior stays at other Kimpton hotels.

We were disappointed in this particular Kimpton. Check in was smooth, and the lobby area was nice, but the room felt old and in need of an update. We stayed in a large King room so we had the standing tub and open shower which were very nice. The king bed was comfortable, but although there was a lot of floor space available there was only a single chair (for the desk) with no other seating (sofa or chair). Essentially the only place to relax while in the room was to sit in bed. The TV was small by today's standards, and it was extremely slow to change channels.

The goal of our trip was to sight-see and the location of the hotel was great. But at the end of a long day of walking around the city it would have been nice to have a more welcoming and comfortable room.
