Crowne Plaza KITCHENER-WATERLOO by IHG in Kitchener

My stay at the Crowne Plaza Kitchener-Waterloo was absolutely perfect. The hotel's excellent location makes it incredibly convenient for both business and leisure travelers. The rooms were spacious and bright, with a modern design and attention to detail. The bedding was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bathroom facilities were clean, and the water pressure was excellent. The staff were professional and welcoming; from check-in to check-out, I experienced the high standards of the IHG brand. The hotel's dining and fitness facilities also maintained a high standard. Whether for business or exploring the surrounding area, this is an impeccable choice and highly recommended!

The good points are that the bed is very comfortable and conducive to sleep, and the toiletries are good; the bad points are that the bathroom is too small, and the hotel is quite old, especially the carpet and elevator, which constantly remind people of the hotel's age.

The air conditioning in the room was very strong, the room facilities were average, and the price was on the high side. Perhaps it was due to the start of the school season, so booking in advance might have been better. The price was quite high when I booked at the time. Western-style breakfast was a common feature.

Great location

The hotel has a superior location and convenient transportation

Beds were comfortable and the standard room was fine but there are other hotels that have nicer accommodations at a lower price. The parking is in a dingy covered parking lot and $12 a day. The balcony was so small.it is almost unusable and when standing outside there was garbage that should be cleaned up. I was expecting nicer accommodations as I thought this was a higher class hotel. The overall stay was fine but was expecting more.

The room was clean but quite outdated, with a musty odor, reminiscent of damp towels. The bed and pillows were comfortable, which was a plus. However, there were no toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers provided. The coffee machine in the room had water pooled in the tray, likely from the previous guest's usage and it appeared never have been cleaned. Additionally , there was no hot water kettle or bottled water provided in the room which was disappointing.  The lobby, corridors, and other public areas had a strong smell of bleach, which was overwhelming.
The buffet breakfast was a highlight. For CAD$20, it offered a wide selection, and the quality was excellent, making it a great value.
Service was a bit of a mixed bag. Restaurant staff, especially Erica, was fantastic—attentive, polite, and thoughtful. She checked in with every guest to ensure they were satisfied with their meal. Unfortunately, some of the male staff seemed to be less eager to serve non-Caucasian guests, which was disappointing and made the experience feel less welcoming.
I also want to give a special mention to Chitra at reception. I arrived early, and she went out of her way to accommodate me, even managing to arrange an early check-in. She also informed me about the late check-out benefit available to IHG members, which the other male receptionist had not explained when he simply rejected my request.
Overall, the hotel is somewhat pricey, but the breakfast and service (especially from Erica and Chitra) made up for some of the other shortcomings.

As good as always, clean and tidy, the front desk is very polite, the breakfast is very good, the service aunt is very nice, I stayed there for 2 days and felt very comfortable
