Despite a rough start, we ended up enjoying our stay at this hotel.
We arrived on the late ferry. So, we got to the hotel around 11pm. They had our room. But, it was on the western side of the hotel, above a nightclub. The noise was so load when we walked into the room that we went back downstairs to get a new room. After 30 minutes of haggling, hey did accommodate us and moved us to a larger room on the eastern end.
We offered to move the next day and they put us in a smaller, but still upgraded room on the quieter side.
What we loved was the cleanliness and location. It is close to everything in central Victoria.
We used the valet car parking (30 Canadian dollars) as the other option is street parking. The valet was worth every penny. Parked safely, in and out privilege, prompt service.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The only complaint is that the towels were very thin and scratchy.
All in all, we would definitely return to this Best Western.

The location is perfect. 1 block from the government street. 1 block from Chinatown. The staff often texted us checking in on us to see if everything is alright. The room was great. However, the floors (not carpeted) were super dirty. I do not believe they have ever mopped it. They should have provided slippers. We ended up wearing our shoes the entire time in the room. Other than that everything else was great. As well you need to pay for parking. No onsite parking

Horrible experience. Hotel smelled. Run down and looked unkept and very loud. My parents were greeted with unruly drunk guests that were swearing at them. (not the hotels fault). Checked into their room to find that the a/c was broken. Asked to be given a different room. When they got the new room they walked in to find it already occupied. They were mortified. Hotel was disorganized. At that point they had had enough. Went back to front desk and said they would not be staying. It was their 50th anniversary. Based on what they had already observed it was not going to be enjoyable. They called the next day and were told that the room mix up was a one off and has never happened before. Not true a previous review mentions the same thing. At $400/night they expected a better experience. The only good thing was that they didn't charge them and offered to comp one night to make it up to them. They will not take them up on that offer.

We stayed here knowing we'd be doing some walking so the location wasn't a huge deal to us. If you're not super mobile, I'd suggest a hotel closer to the wharf. It's really just a 10 min. walk to the waterfront if you're going straight there. Ruby's next door is a great place for breakfast and prices are reasonable. The rooms are on the smaller side (NYC size) but they are well appointed and freshly updated. I'd easily stay here again. Even better, the service can't be beat! Everyone was just so nice!

A gem of a hotel if you can manage a little bit of noise. My husband was working out of town in Victoria so my son and I decided to tag along and get a vacation out of it at the same time. The hotel location is amazing. It is walking distance to basically everything. It is located on a busier street so you can hear the road noise in your room. The hotel is aware of this and kindly provides earplugs for those this may affect. My son is 7 months old and the noise did not disrupt his sleep or routine. I personally did not find the noise too bad.
The staff at this hotel was incredible. They were all beyond kind. The parking arrangement is valet only and they always had my husbands truck ready to go for him every morning. Super quick and efficient if we hadn’t previously scheduled it…however with everything in walking distance we didn’t find we used it in the evening.
The room was clean and had everything provided. House cleaning is based on request instead of everyday…which worked well for our situation.

We checked in on Friday early evening, staff at the front desk were superb, Steven and Brandon texted me to see how things were going, I appreciated that.
On Saturday we requested to change rooms because our room 526 was on top of the night club and we had a crappy night due to noise and luckily they moved us to 501! Thank you!!!! To the staff working Saturday morning!!!
Hotel staff is super welcoming and friendly!

The room was impeccable. My spouse and I were very happy to have chosen this hotel for our stay in Victoria. It was right at the heart of downtown and everything was within walking distance. Valet parking was available and we opted for it as we really like the convenience and not worry about parking.
Brandon was very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. Check-in was fast and smooth. He later sent a text message letting us know that if we needed anything, it’s as easy as sending a text.
Lucia was equally friendly when checking us out and was all smiles and happy.
Later on, I called and spoke to Jessica and had some questions, she was great in responding to my inquiries and really knew what she was talking about. Really great staff and service!

Smack in downtown, which is great! Room that was given to us was clean and neat (King + Sofa). Noise insulation from street was also decent. Restrooms were clean and furnished with the basic amenities. The staff was polite and quick. Also thing to note is that parking is Valet and could take 15 minutes or so for them to get your car out. Price paid for the room was slightly higher than expected, but would stay again based on cleanliness and the location.

Hotel looks outdated on the outside but is new inside. Rooms are clean and staff are friendly and my vehicle was always ready for me when I needed it. They are in a great location and within walking distance of everything you need downtown. If they had comfortable beds they would have 5 stars from me!
