Alpenhotel Weiherbach

Very cosy mountain hotel. Perfect for family vacation, relaxing environment, pool and sauna available. Tourist pack invludes public transportation, so that you can enjoy beer oitside. 15 minutes walk to Berchtesgaden over e steep, but picturesque scenery ... We enjoyed tripto Koenig see, Maria Gern, panorama weg ... It's not enough 3 days to capture all the beautiful mountain sites around!

The quintessential Bavarian Gasthaus!! Although a bit antiquated the rooms were clean and spacious. We never had a chance to use the pool since we only spent two nights. It had ample parking and fairly easy to drive to. The village of Berchtesgaden is about a 15 minute challenging walk up a very steep hill and down a very steep hill. Overall we were very happy with our stay as the host was super friendly and the breakfast was well above average! We’d definitely stay here again. Beautiful views and easy access to Kehlsteinhaus & Salzburg

Excellent, just what we needed. Great, chalet type accommodation, really friendly staff and we had a great time. Breakfast was excellent. The onsite pool and facilities are excellent. It is 15 minutes away from Berchtesgaden centre, up and down some very steep hills. We used this as a base to visit, Salzburg, The Eagle’s Nest, Konigsee and others.
In no way any complaints but I had forgotten some things about Germany since I lived there some years ago. Reception opens from 1400 – 1800 hrs to check in. If you arrive after 1800 hrs you are not checking in, simple. There is free Wi-Fi but it didn’t really let us stream TV etc in the evenings. There is no satellite TV and the available terrestrial channels are all in German (obviously). We watched Back to the Future, in German, Die Hard, in German, we tried to watch Tenet but then put Snakes on a Plane on, in German. 😊
For a small deposit you get travel card offering free local public transport. This was great and means you can have a beer when out and about. Please remember the Germans don’t queue for busses though. The weak are pushed out of the way as people stampede onto the transport. We went to Konigsee on a busy Sunday afternoon. The older people who had been waiting half an hour longer than anyone else didn’t make it onto the bus when it arrived. The middle doors were opened by the driver to let a lady with a pram onboard. About 40 people forced themselves on passed her so the driver had no idea how many passengers he had. Survival of the fittest when catching buses.

Great hotel! Wonderful location too, 15 minute walk into the Bertchesgarten, we walked several beautiful routes on an evening. Rooms comfortable and clean, fridge, hairdryer. We had a balcony with a wonderful view of the rolling hills and mountains. Continental breakfast was fresh and varied. Only one coffee machine so you can when it's busy.

Wir haben kurzfristig und zu einem wirklich guten Preis ein verlängertes Wochenende in einer der Ferienwohnungen gebucht. Wir waren mehr als begeistert, die Ferienwohnung bietet genügend Platz für eine kleine Familie (2 Erwachsene und 2-jährige Zwillinge), hat eine gut ausgestattete Küchenzeile, ein schönes Badezimmer mit Dusche. Alles war sauber und in einem guten Zustand. Die Lage ist ideal, man kommt überall ruckzuck hin, wir habe unseren Aufenthalt wirklich mehr als genossen. Die Familie Plenk ist sehr zuvorkommend und herzlich. Wenngleich mit der Buchung einer Ferienwohnung das Frühstücksbuffet nicht inbegriffen ist (kann sich nicht dazu gebucht werden), hat es uns doch an nichts gefehlt, man kann alles in den umliegenden Geschäften kaufen, in der Kühl-Gefrierkombi verstauen und dann gemeinsam im schönen Esszimmer verspeisen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.
