We were traveling by car from Germany to Austria, and we had always wanted to visit the Eagle's Nest, Lake Königssee and Jena Peak. So we stayed at Kempinski for two nights and celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary

This was such an excellent stay. The spa, the breakfast, the outdoor space, the service, the comfort and quiet of the room. Such a perfect getaway to get some rest and recharge. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous hotel, clean, very quiet/peaceful. The staff were incredibly pleasant, attentive, and helpful. The breakfast buffet was something to behold

I've traveled to almost 30 countries and countless cities across the world, and the Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden is by far one of the best hotels

First, the location is absolutely breathtaking — you get stunning views from every angle; however, ideally, you need a car since it's isolated

The bed was super comfortable too! We ate so well for dinner and enjoyed wonderful cocktails pre dinner in the beautiful bar. Loved the outdoor seating area and also made great use of the spa and outdoor/indoor pool

Good menu and as the pizza section was so extensive we both opted for pizzas. A good idea as the base was perfect and the toppings were fresh and the topping quantities very generous. Service was friendly and slick

This was our second time coming to the hotel. This time we stayed for a week. As always, the breakfast bar was fantastic and didn’t disappoint. Our waiter was Felix and he was great and helpful in so many ways

The pool area is so lovely, with beautiful views from the indoor and outdoor pool. The breakfast includes an amazing choice with a huge buffet and pancakes/waffles and eggs made to order

This hotel was a bit of a splurge for us, but we were so happy we stayed here! Spotlessly clean, comfortable, and with excellent, friendly service from everyone we encountered

We ate at the Italian restaurant (Einkher) and the Gastof Neuhaus - both were delicious. What really sets the hotel apart though is the staff who are so helpful and friendly

Nice, clean room with good view (3rd floor for 3 people), super reach breakfast, good sauna. Nothing to wish more for one day staying.

The Hotel is a bit old, but the room was very comfortable and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is probably the best aspect. It's a 5 minutes drive to the Königssee parking lot

We were pleased to get a family room here as a walk-in. The family room was very spacious and had one large bed and two twin beds. The breakfast is included in the price

It was as close to an "American breakfast" that we've seen in a German hotel. It was walking distance to quite a few things including the train station

There are many restaurants and supermarkets around. The breakfast is also excellent

The hotel was very quiet, relaxing, and clean. The restaurant served amazing German food for both breakfast and dinner

The staff was outstanding and accomodating, they were wonderful!! Overall, our experience was memorable!

Lovely hotel and even better hospitality. The landlady moved her car so I could park mine securely inside the garage. It's all about the details. Hope to be back again.

Superb 4 night stay An amazing place to stay just a few miles from the centre of Berchesgaden. The hotel has superb facilities, it is very clean, the food is excellent and the family of staff are wonderful

Location is a bit of a drive out of town, but it made it relaxing and peaceful. I did appreciate that their duvets were a lighter weight than the other places we had stayed since it was summer and warm

Very nice touch with the honor bar, help yourself to beer or soda and write your name on a ticket. Rooms were spacious and very clean. We could have sat and drank coffee on our balcony all day, it was beautiful

The bed was somehow not comfortable for us. It gets over soon and was never refilled. The warm food was always so little. Don't think there's a vegan option at all, probably need to preorder

I really enjoyed my 4D/3N stay (in June 2021) at this lovely hotel. I arrived a day earlier than planned but was promptly accommodated. It's conveniently located near the train station, as well as the center of town

Have stayed here for 2 to 3 weeks since 2015, except last year, and would not stay anywhere else. Wolfgang, Petra and Julia are the most wonderful hosts. I suggest the Watzmann Suite on the top floor

The only place I ever want to stay when visiting Berchtesgaden. Loved the 24 hour tea and coffee bar, tons of selection for tea. Breakfast buffet was one of the best we've ever had

The views are amazing and it is such a wonderful balcony to sit out and drink a weiß bier and watch the world go by. The breakfast is fabulous and only seems to get better

The hotel is run by two super lovely people, and you can tell how much time and love they invest in the hotel. Both come from the area and always have good tips on what to do in the vicinity

The rooms are clean and inviting. The owners are very warm and always helpful. The food was just fantastic, always fresh and wonderfully presented

The Alpenhotel Bergzauber is really an idyllic and familiar place. Very warm welcome and you felt at home right from the start of your stay

From the hotel you could enjoy the beautiful landscape, but the view of the hotel is also worthwhile

Once up the hill on the right drive round a sharp bend on the left and past the hospital on the right. Entrance is on a sharp left and there is parking both front and right

The quintessential Bavarian Gasthaus!! Although a bit antiquated the rooms were clean and spacious. We never had a chance to use the pool since we only spent two nights. It had ample parking and fairly easy to drive to

Breakfast is excellent and for those interested in hiking the walk into town is beautiful. Rooms are lovely too but if you have difficulty using the stairs take the lift

When you have your room key, you can use the entrance by the car park to access the building. You cannot book in if you arrive late because staff will not be there

If you are going to be late, please let them know in advance as you will not find anyone there to assist you. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is lovely

If you have a large car, please don't use the last parking space before the back entrance else others will struggle to get their cars in and out

My favorite hotel in Berchtesgaden, Bavarian-style rooms and an amazing atmosphere throughout the hotel, plus a delicious breakfast and a terrace with a view of the surrounding mountains.

The entire experience at Hotel Krone was awesome! We were greeted by a friendly face and very warmly. The hotel is situated above the historic town and the views from our balcony were absolutely incredible

Very nice hotel overlooking the city, complete with sauna, bicycle storage room, spacious rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful, so don't hesitate to ask for recommendations.

We found Hotel Krone to be a great choice for our stay in Berchtesgaden and would absolutely stay here again. Rooms were spacious with plenty of room for two of us with several suitcases

But above all, ask for a room with a view, as the surrounding mountains offer an unrivaled panorama, which you can also enjoy from the terrace

Definitely make it a point to enjoy breakfast on their terrace because the gardens in the foreground of massive mountains are breathtaking

The pool is a bit small and can get loud but was appreciated since it was very hot while we were here

That being said, the hotel got us into a room with a view the very next day, something we really appreciated. The hotel is cozy, the rooms are spacious and clean. The bathrooms aren't a bit small, but that's Europe

The hotel has many rooms with wonderful views of the mountains but we were given a room with a view of the side of a hill. It was okay, but we really wanted a view. Unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked

For one thing, check-in time begins at 2 PM and they are quite strict about it. We arrived a little before 2 and were told to come back at 2. We just walked around a bit until actual check-in time

There is a sauna but not much else, but don't worry, the uphill trek will be enough exercise

Had a room with a balcony which gave us amazing views of the Berchtesgaden Alps. Excellent location, close to the many pubs and restaurants yet still quiet at night. The evening receptionist was very helpful

Staff is nice, breakfast is great But the hotel is quite old, there’s no lift from G-2/F Arrivals need to carry baggages with them and walk upstairs. But the room is big and cosy! And it’s clean as well!

Loved my stay here! Staff kept my luggage before check in and provided me free of charge a guest mobility card so I could travel around for free! Location is prime between train station and old town

My room was simple but very clean and very comfortable. Complimentary water on room and tea/coffee by the reception. Breakfast buffet starts at 7am and had a very large variety of items

The breakfast is very rich, and the hotel also has a sauna room for use. The location is 12-15 minutes away from the train station. You need to walk up a sloping road. It was hard to push my suitcase, which is heavy

The two front desk staff are so nice. They will help you check the time and route for your trip. They will also recommend restaurants. The front desk staff can also speak simple Chinese, which is really thoughtful

Don’t stay anywhere else! Such a fantastic place to spend Christmas or anytime. The views are better than the photos and the hotel so very clean and well set out. We are from a hotel background and highly rate this hotel

The property was lovely and very clean. The views from the balcony are so wonderful as the hotel is nestled in the mountains. The outlets above the bed have USB charging ports which was very handy

Check-in was quick, and the cabin was clean and nice. I traveled with 2 kids, so it was the perfect size for a family of 4. I wish we could have stayed longer. Onsite free parking was a plus

Views don't get much better A super location to relax up in the mountains. Amazing views throughout the day as the light changes. We opted to pay a little more to ensure a view and we did not regret this decision

Our room had a balcony which gave a clear view of the Eagles Nest when there were no clouds. All the staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble

Here they provide berchtegaden travel card that gives you 10% off for nearby attractions & free travel around the vicinity. Showering facilities are shared with that level, sometimes you need to wait in line

Basic amenities, hard to find along the streets. In berchtesgaden, they have this weird law about restricting water supply from 11pm-6am, so you should get a bath/shower before those times

Lightnings can be quite bad at night, I used a phone to travel around cause it was so dark past a certain time. Liked that there was self-service tea & coffee

No lift here, so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs (4 floors max)

One of the bestest hotels I have ever stayed. There is not one negative thing I would point out. Convenient location, big, spacious rooms. The wellness area with saunas TOP!

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Alpenhotel Fischer. The staff were lovely, speaking great English but being patient in letting me try speaking German too. Hotel facilities were great with breakfast being a highlight

Lots of choice and all very fresh. The room (117) was spacious and clean. The location is on the edge of Berchtesgaden and right next to a supermarket which was very handy

This is not a criticism as it was nice to be out of the centre when we were ready to retire for the night, but merely something I wanted to point out for future guests

Though in the high season these could be quite crowded, tips from the hotel staff helped us to avoid the crowds and make the most of our limited time

With that said, all I’d point out is that to get to Berchtesgaden centre, it’s around a 25 minute walk, with some uphill in either direction

We loved our stay here, amazing view, lovely clean room, very friendly staff. Breakfast was lovely, as were the evening meals. Lots to do and lots of information at the Hotel

Sitting on the balcony and looking at the mountains in the sun will be long in our memories
