Hotel & Gasthof Fraundorfer

First off - location was excellent, google street view does not do it justice. Our dinner there was in our top 3 meals, we decide to eat there after meeting an american transplant who recommended their food after inquiry - thanks Renee!).

My biggest issue (which I let it effect my trip prob more than I should have) was the room we received, #42. No balcony, ground level, windows next to outside ash tray (woke up to smokers/smell of smoke), unable to leave windows fully open at night otherwise fully exposed to the parking lot (someone could easily come in and out) which left us hotter. I knew there was a chance I may not get a balcony based on how their booking is set up. But I was so utterly disappointed with our room based on the aforementioned esp since we were staying for 3 nights. My recommendations: 1) please list different booking based on room size and with vs without balcony. This will let travels know what they are getting and no room for disappointment
2) rooms 41 and 42 need bars on windows that are exposed to parking lot or portable fans added to the applicable rooms (to allow for adequate cooling/air flow, see picture
3) provide more information on where to check-in (ie restaurant has a desk, please go to even if no one there during hours restaurant not open)
4) relocate ash tray/designated smoking area

I should've asked for a room change immediately, but I'm typically not someone who does that. In retrospect with staying 3 nights I should've sucked it up and asked since there seemed to be a lot of guest turnover. There is a precheck in online, make sure you do that at least 24h prior to stay, i overlooked this in the email. Perhaps if I did it then I would have been given a more favorable room 🥺

Staff for most part friendly, but the staff at the other 3 hotels we stayed at were much more friendly.
