Stayed there in August 2024. Too high price for a room without air-conditioning. If the swimming pool is not of interest for u, this hotel might not be the 1st option. Food @ restaurant is not at the expected level, neither service even if guys are doing their best. Same for the reception desk, too long waiting queue. Maybe a better balance at winter time? This is a very nice hotel with a spa and open grounds. Excellent restaurant and a nice bar. The rooms were very comfortable and big! I had a great view of the Bavarian Alps out the window. We were only there one night but enjoyed it. We got into town early, so took the chairlift to top of ski resort and watched the hang gliders. Easy walk from resort to hotel.

It was a great hotel to spend quality time with friends and family. Close to tourists attractions with a wonderful view of Alps. Nice breakfast. Staffs are very nice and you feel like you’re visiting your nice aunt who lives in Fussen. Clean and cosy like a home. They have soft and alcoholic drinks with some snacks with a reasonable price for the nights you want to chill.

Alpchalet Schwanstein Located in the small town of Halfrech, it is a family hotel in a log cabin, a ten-minute drive from Neuschwanstein Castle. The surrounding scenery is pleasant. Right near the Austrian border, and the feet of Germany’s highest mountain (just under 3 km) the “Zugspitse”, this chalet is a magnificent place to stay. Very friendly and helpful people, very nice (and very clean) rooms with excellent beds and nice bathroom. Good pricing and an excellent restaurant ( managed by a different owner ) is literally next door.

We arrived late after getting lost hiking in the dark, then being unable to get the car out of the parking lot. Dinner was over, sidewalks were rolled up, and we were starving. Had we asked for leftovers (dinner smelled heavenly) am certain they would have helped us out. That is how lovely these people, and their lodging, are. Nice location, terrible room, poor value. The staff were friendly and the location is ideal for local attractions, with convenient parking. I cannot recommend the single room however. Located in a high-traffic area, next to the guest entrance, kitchen and common area, there is constant noise and smells in the room. The apartment is new and clean. The beds are very comfortable and the linen and the towels are of high quality. The kitchen is small but very well equipped. We spent nice time on the terrace that was heading towards the park. Many activities close by.

I am very glad that I chose this hotel for my visit to Neuschwanstein Castle. We stayed in the best room of this hotel with a balcony and a view of the castle right from the bed. This makes the trip even more romantic and truly special. The hotel staff is also very friendly.

This was one of our favorite hotels on our European trip. Just what we wanted for German style and ambience. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated, well located near Neuschwanstein and the Tegelberg bahn. The breakfast was phenomenal! Great location, nice room with a comfortable bed and bathroom. We also had a nice balcony with a small view of the castle. I visited my grandma, and she said her doctor was very nice. Unfortunately, I also have to say that the prices are really not worth the quality. Regular drinks are fine, but the ice cream prices are pretty outrageous for ice cubes in the ice cream. The service was very friendly, though, which is why I was considering giving it 4 stars.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Helmer Hotel. The location, in the quiet pastoral Bavarian village of Schwangua, is a 5 minute drive to the castles. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. and the food at breakfast and dinner was delicious. We highly recommend staying at the Helmer Hotel.

Our 2nd stay in this very nice hotel in beautiful surroundings. A good place for hiking in the mountains and use og free bikes (very good idea) to bike around Schwangau and Füssen. An El-kettel in the room would be a nice to have for a couple of tea after a long hike in the mountains.

The Hotal has the family owned and operated charm and attention to detail that make is absolutely wonderful and unique. The view from our balcony of the mountains as village area is spectacular. The area has many great paved walking paths through the beautiful rural area to the cable car and castle area.

I had seen this hotel hundreds of times so we decided to stay here this time for our week in Schwangau. It definitely didn’t disappoint. We booked three standard rooms at a very reasonable rate and we were largely very happy. Very nice hotel in the small town of Schwangau. Very friendly staff. If you arrive by bus, there is a bus stop just across the street. My only complaint is, since there is no air conditioning (normal for Europe) I slept with the windows open and I could here patrons at the small Italian restaurant across the street on their patio as late as 02:00 (2:00am)

Our second stay at Rübezahl. The atmosphere, the attention to detail, the staff, the food and the spa were excellent the first time. This time they were even better! The views of, and the walking in, the foothills of the Alps are tremendous. A wonderful, relaxing stay - we will return.

I visited for four days at the beginning of November with my wife and two adults daughters. We found the hotel very comfortable, the staff very nice, and the food excellent. I highly recommend the hotel as a base for days visiting Neuschwanstein Linderhof, and Fussel. Unfortunately, our guide at Neuschwanstein was very robotic, but that was not the hotel's fault.

We didn't stay here but I would assume its excellent 👌 as well. We did have dinner here after our trip to Hohenschwangau Castle. The hotel was close to the castles and to Fussen for dinner and drinks at night. The room was clean and accommodating, but the manager was a tad rude. When we first walked in he would not even acknowledge our presence, but then some German's came in and he seemed to warm up a bit.

Fantastic views, and everything was adequate. I especially liked the roll down zombie defense window protection on the windows. Yes, the is really a roll down metal shutter on each of the windows in our room. I have no idea why, but I have never felt safer sleeping in a hotel. The turkey in a cream sauce with some rice was beautiful the best meal I have had so far on this holiday. Then to have a look through the ice cream menu was just ridiculous. Because it was the best ice cream menu that I have ever seen. Absolutely brilliant!!!...

Great food at reasonable prices despite being in such a touristy, high-traffic area. The staff is friendly and humble, the portions are big, and you’ll climb up to Neuschwanstein happy and well-nourished! Awesome place all around!

One of the best foods we have had in Bavaria. Reasonably priced for the quality and taste, quick and awesome service. Highly recommended to dine here when visiting Neuschwanstein Castle.

Terrific restaurant right by the parking area for the two castles. Highly recommend. It’s is in a high tourist spot, but the food really was very good. I had the pumpkin soup and chicken salad, very delicious. My husband enjoyed his veal sausages and pretzel. There are kid meals also.

Overall a good experience but nothing special. We were recommended this place from the front desk of our hotel and so we tried. The food was good although the soup was very very salty. It covered all the taste of the corn. The canederli (in Italian - bread balls with flavor) were ok but please don’t call them dumplings on the menu! We were disappointed. The dessert was good! That was the only place still open after 19:00. Really good traditional Bavaria food and fantastic beer. There was a good selection of ice cream as well.

Absolutely amazing! The service was on top, we felt welcomed and appreciated. The breakfast was stunning, the rooms were clean and had a lot of space. When we came back to the room it was cleaned, the bed was made and our clothes was folded. Just an amazing place to stay! Highly recommend it!

Nice, clean, quiet, friendly staff. Easy to get there with public transportation and it is close to the Castle and to the König Kristall Therme.

Pros: A simple hotel with all the necessities - free parking, comfy bed, nice bathroom, mini fridge in the room, free wifi, a tv with satellite, great continental breakfast, quiet, not far from a Rewe by foot and only 3min by car from Schloss Neuschwanstein. Cons: no air conditioner; the price list states that for 115€/night the room should have a balcony but ours didn't

Location was about 5-10 minute drive to the old town Fussen and also about 5-10 minutes drive to schloss neuschwanstein. It's like a bed and breakfast. Staff was very friendly, informative, and helpful. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable

Friendly, professional staff. Great value for money. Great atmosphere, and location. It was a nice 50 min walk to Neuschwanstein castle.
