Hotel Hammer-Mainz Hauptbahnhof

Classic German hotel, very well located in front of the train main station, rooms are comfortable and clean, decor is a bit outdated, but fine. Room was a bit warm and noisy since facing the street. Receptionist was very helpful in general and kindly let me get in early. Good value for the money. If you want to dine in a nicer place, you need to go closer to the river, which is nearby. Historical city center is also nearby. Breakfast was very good, including real muesli.

Good location. Just opposite to the railway station but the room has the good soundproofing. The public transport is very convenient. A good restaurant with a bar is next door.

The location is amazing soon as you get off your train at the Mainz central station it’s right there and there’s plenty of taxis if you need one and plenty of good restaurants. The breakfast buffet was amazing and the staff was amazing I ended up breaking or cracking my rib and was in a lot of pain the girl I forget her name but she didn’t speak English very well but thanks to Google translate and us using hand signals she got on her computer looked up 24 hour pharmacy gave me directions and was patient and kind the other ladies were helpful with my horrible German but with some of the staff knowing English and Google translate it went smooth

I liked my brief stay at this hotel. I got what I assume is the smallest room, and it was exactly that: a small hotel room with a good bed, desk, bathroom, etc. Nothing else to it, and since I was just staying on a 14-hour layover, it was just what I needed. The location is fantastic, just a hop and a skip from the train station, and you're next to some pretty solid restaurants and bars. Had a bit of confusion regarding breakfast as upon check-in I was told there was breakfast, but on check-out was told my rate didn't include it (but they were very kind and said it wasn't a big problem). The building is clean and modern, and it seemed quite safe to me and also quiet which is a plus.

Clean and tidy, with good service attitude. If I have the opportunity to go to Mainz, Germany for a business trip again, I will stay in this hotel again.
