the niu Mood Hotel, Mainz1 / 16

Mainz, Mombacher Straße 6 🧭 Map
Overall a nice stay, but a few things to note for first-timers! It was a bit confusing to find at first—it’s labeled as the niu on the outside, not Holiday Inn, so we didn’t realize we were at the right place right away. We arrived late, and parking was hard to come by, so plan to arrive earlier if you can. The room didn’t have a kitchenette, which we expected, and there wasn’t really anywhere to...
Nice good place for short stay. We were a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids). Had to take two rooms adjascent to each other. Neat rooms. Enough space (not like those botique hotels) and with lift access. Towels are provided. Rooms cleaned everyday. Bring your soap, tooth brush, paste etc. Good location too. You can get uber or taxi by apps below the hotel and walk to some supermarkets and ccentral...
Staff pleasant and friendly. Location OK, 1km+ from the station and start of the old town - this walk got a little tedious after a while. Room clean and largely sound proofed. The tiny, thin, single duvet was largely ineffective and did little to keep the body warm at night. The pillows were just as bad. I didn't eat breakfast here and was going to have an evening meal until I saw that the menu only...
We have stayed here for 1 week. Rooms are cleaned daily. Not that noisy from trains unless you have a window opened ( we had a room windows against offices and train rails) Very nice location - bus stops not so far away ( 5 minutes to bus stop and approx 11-13 min to main central station ) We had lunch included ( approx 17-18 euros per day for a person ) and it was very good too. Very satisfying...
the hotel itself is pretty cool. Unfortunately, even though I had the “do not disturb”-card in my handle, somebody just asked themselves in twice. Breakfast was pretty good, but unfortunately some dude gave me an attitude because I wanted some yoghurt an hour after leaving breakfast. Apparently the 12€ breakfast needs to be eaten in one sitting specifically. Weird. Also my room was right next to the...

Great location and lovely breakfast by the river, will definitely come back!
This hotel has for sure the nicest view in Mainz, and only a few minutes from the city center. Just be aware that the rooms with view to the Rhein-river obviously have different categories, hence prices, to avoid being disappointed.
Convenient excellent hotel. Fantastic breakfast. Rooms are perfect. Highly recommend.
Very nice location - it is easy to reach the sights of Mainz and also to have a stroll along the river. During my stay there was some construction, that was not very pleasant. Also, make sure you are staying in the main building, or you will have to walk a long way with luggage... and help was not offered, although I had 2 suitcases. European hotel rooms tend to be small and drab - that was the case...

excellent hotel at a perfect location. The view on rhine river is excellent and the historic city center and Roman remains are within walking distance. The staff are friendly but some appear a bit overworked on a slightly busy day. The communication about challenges with room availability are really poor. Thus the manager may need to take the time to train some of the staff in basics required at a...
We loved everything about this hotel. The location and view couldn’t have been better. The bed was comfortable. The shower head is on the ceiling which my husband loved. Fortunately, they gave us a shower cap so it worked for me too.
This hotel's location is excellent for people visiting Mainz. The restaurant was...okay. Our room was clean.
Great location, nice room, nice wellness area, very friendly staff
Extremely friendly staff and very good breakfast. Overall we felt very comfortable.
Lovely hotel. Wonderful staff; you can taste in every dish the love that the chef and bartenders have for their jobs. Kind, friendly (by a southern American standard), and a refreshing focus on quality over quantity. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt so comfortable in any hotel space. Also, I have to mention the spa. I have a lot of influence in my life from American Southern Baptists, and she...

Although we only stayed here for a night, it's the best stay ever from the service, design and comfort of the hotel. Strongly recommended to anyone who visits Wisbaden.

Overall it's not bad, but the level of cleanliness leaves much to be desired: during our three weeks of stay the floor was not washed even once.
The hotel was very clean, and the staff were extremely kind and polite. The price was excellent. Great access to bus, tram, bikes, and scooters. Close to the industrial area, which makes it perfect for business trips. Breakfast quality and variety were also good. I just don’t understand why hotels don’t provide slippers. Also, my room didn’t have a fridge.
The hotel is very good and the stay is very comfortable
The standard of domestic convenient hotels, overall clean and tidy. But the room is relatively small, and the aisle is a bit narrow when a large suitcase is spread out. There is nothing to eat around. It is suitable for a two-day business trip
Decent hotel for the price we paid..however the location is not that great quiet a distance to the nearest bus station and the bus station which is nearby has buses after a long time and the train station is a kilometre away.. apart from that its a fine place if you just wanna relax and be at the hotel for a longer time.. nice lobby .. checkin agent let us store our bags in the. Luggage room since...
The room facilities are too simple, the mattress is too soft and my waist is very tired when sleeping, the carpet is very dirty, the hotel interior is very simple, not suitable for travel and living for more than 2-3 days; the front desk staff is cold and unenthusiastic, it is five bus stops away from the train station and a 6-minute walk from the supermarket.

We stayed at the Atrium Hotel for 3 days, on the first evening we had a wonderful 3 course menu in the restaurant, which was freshly prepared. It was delicious! Thanks to the kitchen. The service at the hotel is very attentive and polite. If there were any problems, they were solved directly in the interests of the guest. We were very comfortable. The only thing we had to complain about was the temperature...
We had a wonderful time in a wonderful room! The service was impeccable all round. Our waitress (Mr L. Tom) tried very hard and really made for a memorable evening. Many thanks again to this special team. We will definitely be back.
Great breakfast, modern rooms, we felt completely at ease!
We had a great time at the Atrium Hotel! The staff are very friendly and accommodating, they don't seem at all fake. Pure well-being, the rooms are stylishly furnished, of course clean, which is to be expected in this beautifully furnished hotel. A beautiful spa area invites you to relax. The perfectly mixed cocktails are also worth mentioning... we haven't had such delicious cocktails in a...
We have danced at many weddings and can say that you will find the perfect wedding venue here. Professional service coupled with excellent room separation and the ability to go straight to bed after the party is simply wonderful. Our DJ Dominic is full of enthusiasm and is looking forward to the nightly parties at the Atrium Hotel.
We stayed at the Atrium Hotel for one night because we were visiting nearby and just wanted a break from everyday life. The stay was truly great! We particularly enjoyed the beautiful wellness area, where you can take advantage of great offers such as the sauna, infrared cabin and adventure shower despite Corona regulations, as well as the swimming pool with adjacent outdoor seating area. I had an absolutely incredible stay at this hotel! There was nothing I didn’t love about it. The room was so spacious and clean, and it had everything I needed to make myself feel right at home. Booked at short notice and it's surprisingly nice and modern hotel for the price. Everything appears to be recently refurbished. No problems checking in late at night. Didn't try the breakfast and only stayed one night, so can't comment on the other facilities. Not super central but reachable with public transport or Uber from the city centre and from Erbenheim. Rooms have tea and coffee making facilities...
Great hotel for working for the R&V :-). Great lobby with the bar next to the reception. Parking fee is a bit high. Nice rooms
Having stayed here several times, the hotel suits all requirements. Good location, gym for the energetic types and differ meeting and conference facilities.
Very clean, very comfortable bed, and the breakfast selection was great! I stayed for one night for a business trip and haven't heard of Penta Hotels before. I came here because of a recommendation and I'd definitely come back. The breakfast had a great selection and great veggie options!
Had an awesome stay at this hotel! The breakfast was fantastic, and the location was super convenient—just a 10-minute walk to the base. The only downside was that parking wasn’t included, which is something to keep in mind if that’s important to you. Overall, a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend it!

Stayed here for 8 nights and liked the hotel in general. A very simple 2 star hotel with not much to offer, but it has everything you need. The breakfast was good, nothing special but also nothing to complain about. The location is amazing as there are enough restaurants nearby and a REWE ( Supermarket ) right across the road. The Rhein River is also only 5 min walking away.
Like most IBIS hotels, this one is a bit outdated, so one shouldn't have too high expectations. However, when I request a "quiet" room during the booking process weeks before and then only get one facing the noisy main road, even my lowest expectations aren't met. The old air conditioning rumbles quite loudly, unfortunately, sleeping with the window open is impossible: the police and fire engines as...
A pleasant hotel, not too far from the main square.
Stayed here while on a business trip. Rooms were decent and clean. Air con didn't work great but maybe that was just the room I was in. Service and staff were good. Only had breakfast here but it was good with a good choice.
Great location within walking distance to the city centre. The rooms are small and fairly basic, and there are no fitness facilities available. The check-in experience was a bit awkward — I waited at the counter for about five minutes without being acknowledged, even though it was already around 9pm. I was also disappointed not to receive the 100 points for choosing the Green option, as the staff member...
The hotel was clean and quiet and the room. I probably wouldn't stay again only because there are no tea and coffee facilities in the room and I do like to have that, but appreciate that is personal to me. Also had a bad start. Very tasty, home-style dishes. The service is warm - friendly and has always been in a good mood. We also often get half a chicken for home, which always tastes very good. We have nothing to complain about. There are full and solid 5 stars for this. A real Mainz tip!
The hotel is ok, cleanliness is important. The breakfasts could only be a little richer. I miss a regular tomato and possibly a small coffee croissant. The rest of the stuff is ok.
The restaurant is generally nice. Staff is relevant and polite. But I didn't like the portions of the food.

The hotel is located within a 15-min leisurely walk to a train station and a 10-min walk to a bus stop. Although he hotel itself is rather spacious and with a large number of rooms, it felt as if whatever few guests were in the hotel, they had all been accommodated next to each other. This unfortunately meant that I struggled to fall asleep at night as the next room guests had late night conversations...
A bit of an awkward location in the city. The room was clean.
I had a comfortable experience. The room was clear, comfortable, and quiet. The staff and services were great.
The Best Western is a pretty standard mega-chain hotel. The staff are professional and speak English well. The rooms are pretty standard and the beds comfortable. It is around 12 minutes walk uphill from the train station, but that's the only negative point.
Best Western Hotel Mainz is a fine hotel. It is located on the outskirts of the city and offers comfortable rooms. We visited this hotel on our return journey from Austria and booked a room for three adults. We had a spacious room with a seating area that was used as an extra bed however. In fact, this room was a small apartment with a kitchen block. The bed was excellent but a bit hard. There is...
Some may call the hotel quaint, but that is part of its charm. My room was more spacious than expected and rather cozy. The bed, reassuringly modern, was very comfortable. The hotel is about to close, weather for renovation or for good is not clear, but this is something they forgot to advertise online. This is an old hotel. The rooms are old and very dusty. Bring a UV torch, the level of invisible stains on the bedroom carpet will make you feel sick. The bathroom is very basic, shower over the bath. There is no evening restaurant service. Staff are pleasant and helpful, and the location is very good, 10mins walk to central Mainz.
I recently wrote that the pool was only open between 7:00 PM & 9:00 PM. This is incorrect (there was an error on their bulletin board). The pool is open starting at 7:00 AM.
Great stay Loved our stay. Very quiet hotel area. Check in was seamless, rooms are good with comfortable beds, coffee machine along with tea kettle & tea. Loved the breakfast as it had a great variety. Very close to central area & very accessible with car or by foot. Lots of underground parking

It was clean and well looked after, even in times of Corona. What made it 5 stars for me was: we left a bottle of wine in the fridge by accident. A quick call and we have organized a way for it to return to us. Wonderful customer service.
Everything I needed for a short term stay I got here. Good place with nice staff. Asked for a higher room for a better city view - got it! Definitely recommend!
We really liked this place. A kettle, a fridge, a very clean bathroom, clean room with comfortable beds, not noisy despite being next to the train line and a motorway. And a very decent receptionist, with humanity and manners. Thanks for a good stay!

The room was very spacious and windows could be opened for fresh air which was great. The bed was a nice size but the mattress was so soft and bouncy for my taste which made it less comfortable. The internet was terrible. The heater made a loud noise when turned up.
The staffs are so friendly and helpful. The room was exceptional cozy. I slept well every night. Breakfast was simple but ok. There is a hair dryer, and a small fridge. No minibar. The bathroom was totally clean. I had a great time there. Well, just only the location is not prime but still in walkable distance.
For value this is excellent, the price is low and includes breakfast and the room was large and clean. Perhaps not the most modern furnishings, but for me it was ok. The location is quiet and near lots of nice restaurants as well as being close to the station. I was late checking in but collecting the key was very easy and the owner was very fast to reply to all questions by email. I would stay again
If you are looking for an affordable place in Mainz, this is the place to go. Rooms are clean and have a spacious balcony to relax on after a busy day. Closeby tram can take you to the main train station and further on directly to the University. The new owner takes care of his guests.
New owner. Hotel is recently renovated, all windows are changed too. Bathrooms are new. It is a 3*** hotel. Great location!

Absolutely loved this hotel. Funky, relaxed, great staff. Good location close to the station and handy for seeing the best parts of town. Thoroughly recommend.
Overall, excellent design, location, and service. The breakfast is excellent (although it would be nice if the options changed more day to day). The fitness center and sauna are appreciated. Tip: the lockers are on the 6th floor but the robes, slippers, and the sauna is on the 7th floor, so you need to go up, get your stuff, change, and then go back up. The facilities were clean. One major caveat:...
Excellent hotel. The breakfast was amazing. Will definitely come back just for that. Varied and very tasty. All you can wish for. The location of the hotel is right next to an arterial road. Walking from Mainz Old Town requires crossing a busy bridge leading over railways.

Stayed for one night while doing the Rhine cycle route. Staff were very welcoming at check in and my bike was locked in a separate part of the hotel overnight. Room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is more modern on the inside and has wood floors everywhere which can lead to a bit of noise from people walking around. It’s about a 10-15 mins walk into centre of town. Overall a good stay
Simple rooms but with all the basics, powerful shower, firm comfortable bed and desk. Wonderful view from the 6th floor restaurant with a good breakfast bar selection. Staff friendly and helpful, excellent English spoken. Bike storage available if you are doing one of the cycle trips
The doppl bed are not comfortable. Its basically 2 single beds beside each other, so it would slips away from each other and make a crack in the middle 🤣
The hotel is located on a very prime location. Easily accessible by public transport fr the Central Station but you have a 15 min walk to reach there too. The view is amazing from the hotel room.
