Great, new hotel in the city. Basically everything was OK and as you would expect. There was a funny smell in the spa area, but hopefully that has gone away by now. I'd be happy to come back.

Amazing contemporary hotel with the most magical indoor pool I've ever experienced. Gorgeous part of Nuremberg to walk around, feels very high end. Comfy bed, Netflix easy to operate on TV. Breakfast was very generous - a 3 tiered high tea style plate offering plus eggs cooked your way. the only criticism is that I was shocked to discover I did not have a bar fridge for drinks or a kettle in my room to make tea & coffee in the morning - seems strange to not include these small (but much needed) features that most hotel rooms have.

Overall my stay was great, however I think there are a few things that could be better.
1. There are no locks on the room doors (like you would see in a normal hotel - none at all). Being in a foreign country, having a lock on the door is vital. I would have felt much safer with a lock on the door. On one morning the house keeping lady didn’t even knock, and just opened my door - she shouted at me in a language I didn’t understand, and then left. It was very distressing, I’m glad I had clothes on!! I did not have a “do not disturb” door knob sign in my room.
2. The AC (air con) in my room only went to 19 degrees Celsius. So it’s gets very warm in the rooms.
3. The gym is a bit pathetic. The lack of weights (free weights / dumbbells) was disappointing. There are three sets of “bag weight” (not sure how else to describe them?) but they aren’t super functional and seemed very fragile.
The staff at the desk was very helpful and responsive via WhatsApp.

We had a great stay at the Karl August. Everything about the room was clean, comfortable and practical. The staff is friendly, well-informed and responsive.
The location was superb. Close to all things in the old town but also super quiet in the room.
We were delighted to cool off and relax in the spa area after a full day of touring the area.

My stay at the Karl August Hotel in Nuremberg was exceptional. This stunning, modern boutique hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of the old city, just steps away from the main square and the beautiful Frauen Kirche. The rooms are quiet, well-appointed, and boast a sleek, modern design with great lighting and ambience. The amenities are top-notch, especially the spa and sauna on the top floor, which offer spectacular views of the city. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and would 100% return on my next visit to Nuremberg.

We had a great stay at the Karl August Hotel. The people were very friendly and the service was amazing. The rooms were modern and fit our needs. The breakfast each morning was delicious AND we had a great view of the river. The location was centrally located which was perfect. Overall, we had a great experience.

Lovely hotel with beautiful rooms and a huge lobby with plenty of seating and a fireplace. The pool is great - with windows that give you a view of the city centre. The sauna was also fantastic. Breakfast was a delight!
