Mövenpick Hotel Nürnberg Airport

I chose Mövenpick Nürnberg Airport expecting the standard and warmth that Mövenpick is known for, what I experienced was shockingly far from a 4-star hotel.
The property is visibly neglected, worn-out furniture, stained carpets, and an outdated design that hasn’t kept up with the brand’s reputation. There was no minibar, just an empty mini fridge, no robes, no iron, and no coffee machine in the room.
The worst part was the water issue. In the middle of my bath, the water pressure suddenly dropped, leaving me standing there wet with no way to rinse properly. When I called the front desk, I was told I’d have to wait until the next day for a repair person, an outrageous response for any hotel. Only after insisting did they offer me a room change, but to a smaller and even uglier twin room, with no apology, no compensation, no gesture of goodwill.
On top of this, the Wi-Fi, which is supposed to be standard, barely worked when sending photos or handling anything beyond basic browsing. I was also charged a deposit for “incidentals” in a room that offered none of the amenities typically expected at this price point or 4 star rating.
This location has enormous potential, being directly across from the airport with quick access to the city, but it’s being wasted. This could have been a polished flagship property. Instead, it feels like a tired, poorly managed stopover hotel living off an iconic name. I sincerely hope management takes this as a wake-up call.
