Where to stay in Ratingen

Overall, satisfied with the location and amenities - onsite restaurant, shuttle service, etc. However, rooms need a lot of work. Some are remodeled, others are not. Some have refrigerators and others do not (Website says all rooms have refrigerators). All rooms lack air conditioning (Website says the hotel has air conditioning), which makes them quite miserable when the temperature reaches above...

Great place to sleep, but Wi-Fi was on the slow side.

It's good and the staff are good, but it is getting a little tired from the heavy usage, the pub bar is nice , needs a sharpening up , value for money is good

Nice and clean hotel. Refurbished up to a certain level, but still an old hotel. The prices for overnight stays are ok, but for breakfast it's pretty high. The swimming pool is clean, but for the sauna you'll need to walk a bit outside, which is very cold when you just get out of it.

The rooms could have a bit cleaner - mainly talking about the floor. The shower and the bed furniture seems quite run down and broken. Location - I had a room to the back and did not hear any noise. Also its quite central and easy access to anything you might need!

Great and clean room for family with young kids. Great location with nearby food shop, buses and sushi restaurant. Staff very friendly and welcoming. It's a 2 star - but who cares - it's clean, 24 hour reception, hot shower, comfy bed and let me take my dog in the room. The field outside the Novotel was great to run the dog around after a long drive from Poland. Very friendly staff at check-in. Comfortable, modern rooms and good beds and pillows. Service during dinner could be a tad faster. Very nice breakfast. The location is unbeatable if you have a morning flight.

A nice modern hotel in a quiet area. Rooms have a fridge and an area for a microwave but the actual appliance is missing. There is a grocery store 5 minutes away across the bridge. The walk to the airport is 15-20 minutes. The same is true for the metro stations, one to the north and one to the south. They both are on the same "S" line. Taxi fare to the airport is about 10 euros.

We spent 5 nights there to attend an exhibition. The airport is a 15 min walk from the airport. There are 2 bus stops around the hotel that would take you back to the airport and from there there is public transport everywhere. The area is very quiet and full of office buildings. There is an Aldi (grocery store) 3 min walking away. There are very few restaurants within walking distance. By default...

Very good place to come and stay in Ratingen: the parking is right beside the entrance. They always welcome my dog, friendly, the quality of service is high.

Clean, cosy and centrally located hotel. Not so modern in style, but the room had all facilities such as a good air conditioner. Nice breakfast with fresh bread, freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs and lots of other options.

Very good location when you want to be close to the center. Don't expect much comfort in the rooms. Good for a 1 night sleep.

We had a late check-in, but they made that super easy. The rooms are very nice and have comfortable beds. The bathrooms were a bit snug, but not a problem. Everything was delightful and the breakfast is tasty. Parking was the only real problem. There were not enough reserved spaces and we had to park 'mildly' illegally. Thankfully no ticket.

Kind of far from everything that I do want to visit in Dusseldorf (about 45ish mins away) and also they gave us no complimentary coffee or even water! But otherwise it was clean and nice and the room even came with a bathtub

We were given 4 bed (2 doubles) room in 4th floor for our 2 nights family stay. To get to our room in a lift you must to use physical metal key (given together with room key) but reception never bothered to tell us what extra key is for... otherwise lift will get you to second floor only, as there is no button to press for 4th floor. Very weird... in room there is a safe which we would like to...

Rooms are a little tired and they still use keys for the doors!! However, what makes this a great stay is the great staff are the food is incredible, especially the bar meals in the evening with a beer and perfect ambience. That alone is worthy of 5 stars!!!

The room is standard clean, but the tub drainage is rusty, which I had a problem with. Maybe this is an aged hotel, and overall is a fine stay. This hotel is quite near the airport but excellent location between duisburg and dusseldorf. If you cannot stand some planes flying over at night or early morning then this is not a stay for you

Staff is 5 star, breakfast is 5 star, only giving 4 stars here because the hotel has a weird layout and rooms are hard to find. Another negative: they don’t have a central air conditioning, just some mobile units which don’t really work.

Wonderful hotel out of the city but no too far. Really lovely service, feel family-run whilst still being of a high professional quality. Good for families (it has a playground and forest right next to it) and facilities would be great for business retreats or conferences. We ended up here in poor circumstances (our flight out of DUS was cancelled) and yet the staff here managed to put smiles back...

We stay mostly there for our annual Essen Spiel trip. Short drive to the fair, comfy rooms and beds, good breakfast and a small but tasty dinner offering. Nice cocktail selection.

Visited this hotel for a short stay on a weekend. Room was okay - even there has been a problem with the shower making noises at night. We were very disappointed by the breakfast though - advertised at 8,50 EUR (real price 10,50 EUR nowadays) due to options, freshness, etc.

The convenience of the location for the airport, the pleasant responsive staff, the furnishings (washer & dryer, etc.) make it easy to simply move in and live. Small meals are easy to order. Daily cleaning and linen service means hotel comfort in a proper setting with reasonable price. It is close to necessary places besides the airport: supermarket, transport, and good restaurants.

It's a clean and comfortable B&B. Easy check in and out! It is located very close to the stadium but a bit far from the city center.

A good budget hotel near the airport. Also local Rheinbahn train and bus depot is right behind the hotel. It makes your life easier to travel to the heart of city with ease. Few bus services are also directed to Airport so travellers can reach Airport cheaply. Breakfast on the house is good, most of the items are repetitive. Bar has an extensive collection of whiskey to enjoy but very limited options...

This place was a little over a 20 minute walk from the airport. The walk was easy and safe. There are a few restaurants close by but most close early so for later check ins there are only about 3 open later that are walking distance. The receptionist was very helpful and inviting. Nice hotel. Big rooms. Clean and tidy. Bit of noise from the trams but this means they are easily accessible. Not much going on in the immediate area so you may have to walk to find a decent place to eat. I would go back, hopefully next time for fun instead of business.

Place is near to the airport and pretty much the only downside I can think of is the sound of teams at night. Noticeable before you fall asleep, not loud enough to wake you up though. Very nice and comfortable hotel. Located within 5 min from the local train station, And it takes only 2 min from the station to the airport. You can enjoy local beer at the restaurant just next to the hotel.

We were guests on the occasion of our wedding anniversary and were very satisfied with the food and drinks. The table was lovingly decorated, the service attentive. More is (almost) not possible 😉

Got booked in here when flight from airport got cancelled, I have to say the the room is very nice along with the great reception staff named Walid, overall a lovely hotel.

The rooms were very big and beautiful, but the bed for the kids was very uncomfortable and noisy. The breakfast buffet was amazing, there were so many things to choose of and it was super delicious. With the check-in we had some problems because we couldn't open the door with our cards. There is a hot steam bath but it only opens from 3 p.m. which is a bit late.

The receptionist was not very friendly, I had a feeling he was stressed or at the time when we checked in, When we asked about how is it to park on street, he was very impatient and a bit rude, he said " Why don't you read the signs,I don't know, I cannot tell you. " Instead, he could have told us that Hotel offers parking with a cost of 12 euro per night. We had to ask him about the hotel...

Everything was very good except that I had to switch rooms because the thermostat was broken and it was very hot in the room.

The hotel is OK considering we paid €40 a night incl breakfast. The rooms are not being cleaned with care and the lady checking us in was not in a best mood, and didn't inform us about breakfast etc. They try to sell you a parking lot spot for €9 a night, but there is plenty of parking available around the hotel and it is all free (and closer to the entrance than their parking lot...). Room was not ready to check in when I arrive at 15:20. Receptionist said I have to wait or go in the City for a walk because they don't know when the room will be available. When I went in to the Room was cold not preheated. Outside was 2°C. Junior Suit heating plates are not working and no body fixing them. Clean and tidy place.

Good location near airport. If you search for attractions in the area it's not the one, very quiet. Rooms are good, all not smoking. The bed in my opinion is very good. Sky is complete and not just 2 channels like in the most hotels. Very good breakfast, the best croissant I found in german hotels (3 - 4 stars).

Pleasant reception and explanation. What a super nice room for that price! A very good bed and nice pillows. A neat bathroom and a nice shower. The plus was also the seat in the room. It is a luxury that there is air conditioning in the room. The window prevents outside noise from entering the room.

Very good hotel, quiet, clean and exactly what you need for a good night rest. The facilities in the room are absolutely fine, good bed, good shower and TV with satellite channels. Continental breakfast served with coffee and natural juices. Overall very good.
