Hotel Coco Plaza in Las Terrenas

2 minute walk to ideal soft-sand palm-tree-lined natural beach. Clean spacious rooms. A/C. Refrigerator. Beautiful private swimming pool. Fantastic open menu breakfast included. Friendly staff. Restaurants and bars in each direction. 10 minute walk to town center. I stayed 4 nights and plan to return when I can.

Had room #12 from 2/4-2/11. Room was large, with 2 queen beds, a bedside table, a small chair and table, and a large table/storage area that had the TV. It was very clean/bug free. Air conditioning worked well and room had a ceiling fan. Bathroom was supplied with shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Also had bottled water in the small refrigerator. This room had a really large carved wooden armoire which was okay for hanging clothes, but the room had no drawers for the rest of your clothes. Hotel has a full breakfast included every morning. Pool/garden area was very nice and kept clean. Off-street parking is available and safe. Hotel has a great location at about 100 yards from the water. Walk to the left and there are quite a few restaurants and bars along the Playa Las Ballenas. Walk to the right and you're about a 10 minute stroll from all the shopping, restaurants and bars of the downtown Las Terrenas area. Just past the downtown, about a 20 minute walk along the beach from the hotel, is Playa Punta Popy, with more restaurants and bars. A small colmado is right across the small side-street that the hotel is on (as well as two great restaurants Empanadas y mas & Restaurante Plaza Delfin) and a larger "convenience store" is right on the corner. It has cable TV, but be aware that most channels are all in Spanish language. I think only a couple were actually in English. Bring some earplugs; even though the A/C provides a little "white noise", you will hear the motorbikes and scooters going up and down the beach road early in the morning and during the day. The lady that was at the front desk every day is nice, but has very limited English skills. The young lady doing the breakfast every morning is able to understand and speak English better. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for the budget-conscience traveler, as it's a great value (ours was just under $700 dollars for the week!), it's very clean and has a really good location. For those "luxury" travelers, you may want to look elsewhere.

The hotel is quiet, clean with beautiful rooms. The staff is amazing and so lovely! Breakfast was included and very good. The pool is beautiful and it is just 5minutes walk to the beautiful quiet beach! It was a perfect stay! We will come back for sure!!! Michas gracias por todo!

Loved this little hotel. Lovely open air reception area where they also serve breakfast which is included in the price of your stay. We stayed for 14 nights with our kids on the double room overlooking the pool. The bathroom was clean and so was the shower stall. We had a large terrace overlooking the pool with comfortable patio furniture and has a nice natural barrier for some Privacy. The pool is a nice size for kids with lots of place to get it in and out and there’s a small toddler pool attached. They keep it clean and the water was clear to the bottom. At night there’s fun lights that change colour in the pool, the kids loved that. The beach is just at the end of the street but there’s mostly fishing boats so you can walk either way on the beach to find a quiet spot. It’s a short walk to the city centre, but there’s a taxi/moped stand at the end of the street on the beach if you don’t want to walk. There’s also a tap beside the entrance to wash your sandy feet when you get back from the beach. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance including the juice bar and Delphin restaurant that are directly across from the hotel. There’s almost a small colmado/grocery store that sells snacks/drinks/booze etc. The street the hotel Is on has plenty of foot traffic during the day as well as cars and motorbikes and four wheelers but it quiets down at night and I was never woken up at night when we were in our room. Super friendly staff available day/night. Rooms were cleaned daily and stocked with clean towels. Always lots of hot water and water pressure was good. We also got to see one of the villas on the property that’s for rent that had a full kitchen, bedroom and bathroom which is on the other side of the private parking lot. Nicely maintained gardens and exterior. The owner was around a lot and was very friendly and approachable. Great hotel at a good price.

We couldn't be more delighted to have chosen Hotel Coco Plaza for our stay in Las Terrenas. Everything is perfect, from the service, to the room, to the breakfast. The room is clean and comfortable with A/C. And breakfast is very complete and good quality. Morelia and the rest of the staff are kind, welcoming and always ready to help. We will definitely stay here again. No podríamos estar más encantados de haber elegido el Hotel Coco Plaza para nuestra estancia en Las Terrenas. Todo es perfecto,el servicio, la habitación y el desayuno. La habitación es limpia y cómoda con aire acondicionado. Y el desayuno es muy completo y de buena calidad. Morelia y el resto del personal son amables, acogedores y siempre están dispuestos a ayudar. Definitivamente nos quedaremos aquí de nuevo.

Did a one night stay and was blown away by the cleanliness. Details of the decor and the great breakfast.. We had Mangu.. Which is a typical Dominican thing.. Rooms were big and well stocked with water.. Pool was modest size but clean. All amenities were clean and kept up.. Owners care about this place and you can tell.

Easily the best value in las Terrenas. Rooms are big and comfortable, AC is strong, and you’re less than 100 feet from the beach. All the staff go above and beyond to be helpful. I stayed here 3 separate times already, I have no desire to find another hotel in Las Terrenas!

We went here during the low season in July / August and managed to score a very nice room at a serious discount. The best deal we could find cruising the majority of the hotels on the beachfront west of the centro. The rooms are excellently furnished with items imported from Italy that look like they came from a castle. The breakfast included is good.. eggs cheese ham coffee and juice.. bathroom was large .. rooms large.. solid AC and cable tv. The receptionist/manager is very hospitable and accomodating. We highly recommend this hotel as there is no question it has the best value on the beach.
