El Gezira Hotel

It's a nice place to stay, you have a view on the Luxor Temple on the other side of the river, the staff is really friendly and helpful, the rooms are okay for Egypt. We stayed one night her.

The Mesala is a gem of a hotel, a precious, family run hotel on the West Bank of Luxor overlooking the Nile River and Luxor Temples. It's a spectacular view. The rooms at the front have balconies and are comfortable and clean. The sun rises to your left and sets to your right so you are basking in glorious sunshine all day long but can close the balcony doors if you prefer it cooler. The Roof Terrace restaurant is fantastic and breakfast is served there every morning and meals can be provided all day long until around 9pm. The kitchen staff are very amenable and try to cater to your needs if not on the menu. The food here is very good. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful and it's a pleasure to be here. Free WiFi is available and there's a small swimming pool. The location is ideal as it's on the river bank with a beautiful promenade and the small boats to cross the river are literally outside the hotel. Taxis are available in abundance outside, as are tuk tuks. Local shops are yards away, everything you could possible need and lots of restaurants nearby. This hotel is a small, family run business that really takes care of its guests and you will want to return time and again. It's not far to the Valley of the Kings and Queens and Hatshepsut's tombs and Howard Carter's Museum, the beautiful Qorna countryside and a short river crossing to the Luxor and Karnac temples on the East bank where you will find the old market souk and lots of modern shops and hotels. To say it is marvellous is an understatement. It's not the Ritz but it is perfect for the mind and soul to absorb the beauty of Luxor. Come and enjoy this precious jewel of a small hotel.

A great experience. Ahmed the son of the owner was absolutely superb. Couldn't do enough for us. We had booked for 8 nights and had a lovely stay. Would totally recommend this hotel for location and views and the breakfast was excellent. Friendly staff. Even though it was end of January/beginning of February my husband braved the pool. And we had time round the pool sunbathing. You can get a small motor boat to the east bank for 50 LE per person. As we have been coming to Luxor for many years we didn't do any trips as we have done them in the past, but you can book them through the hotel as well as airport transfers. Excellent food, hosts were amazing and accommodating. No hassle at all. It's right next to the ferry but also very quiet. Best experience I've had so far in Egypt. The hot air balloon is a must

Cosy hotel in the west side of Luxor. Rooms were clean and spacious. Ahmed is extremely helpful with booking unique experiences around Luxor including a private sunset boat ride with home cooked food - an unforgettable experience!

Could not have picked a better, more accommodating location during my stay in Luxor. Located directly across the Nile from Luxor Temple and situated beside plenty of incredible restaurants, everything was conveniently located. The hotel staff was the best I have ever experienced. Going out of their way to be helpful and organize transportation and tours, and even let me book a room for a half day when I had a red eye flight.

Excellent value hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious and it had a beautiful position on the bank of the Nile. Also I can't speak highly enough of the staff, especially Osama. I had to change my travel plans at short notice and he helped me to book flights and coordinate an airport transfer. I'm really grateful foe their assistance and will definitely stay here again if I return to Luxor.

Great experience for a fair price, good for students like us but as well couples or families. El masela Hotel is a beautiful place with a stunning view on the Nile from the roof top as well as our room‘s balcony. It is directly opposite the private ferry’s port and 5 min walk from the public ferry port to go to the city center on the east bank. Next to the hotel there are many cozy restaurants but the food at the hotel is really good, too. A cozy place to stay, especially with the most welcoming staff who was always open for a nice chat and some advice on what to do and how. They also organize trips to The Valley of the kings for example, which we enjoyed a lot. Big thank you to Osama and the whole team!!
