Reviews
The room was very clean, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was really good as well, with a wide variety of food and drinks.
The location was also great. We bought the unlimited travel pass for bus and metro for €10, which made it very easy to get anywhere quickly with public transport. On top of that, many places were within walking distance, which was also very doable.
The only downside was the rooftop: the pool was very small and unfortunately not clean due to algae. There were hardly any guests upstairs, although there was service available and you could order drinks. The staff at the rooftop bar were very friendly.
Me and my wife Anamaria have stayed at this location this week in room 308.
Same as others, we honestly do not understand these bad reviews.
All the staff members have been more than helpful and polite.
Yes, the rooms have thin walls, but come on, if anybody wanted a 4 or 5 star quality, they could have gone elsewere. We came here to experience what Barcelona has to offer, and it did so much.
Everything was immaculate each and every day, all the personnel from house keeping to the kitchen staff and the reception members have been extremely polite, considerate, helpful and eager to satisfy everybody's needs.
And for Chef and kitchen staff, you need at least a Michelin Star. All of you have been working so hard to satify our needs and have been so careful so that every plate could be exquisit and full of flavours that we couldn't immagine.
For sure we'll come back at this location with such amazing staff.
Thank you all for everything and wish you all the best.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful – definitely the highlight of the hotel (10/10).
On our second reservation, however, our room was only ready at 3:30 PM instead of 2:00 PM, even though we arrived around noon. They kindly offered lockers to store our luggage, but we didn’t enjoy waiting an hour and a half in the lobby.
The hotel itself is very clean, designed as a boutique hotel with beautiful common areas and a stunning restaurant (we didn’t get the chance to eat there, but the décor is impressive). One odd feature: the shower is placed against a glass wall facing outside. If you take a shower at night with the lights on, you might end up giving a little show.
As for the neighborhood: it’s the part of La Rambla I would recommend avoiding. It felt very run-down, with many homeless people, a strong smell of urine in the streets, and overall too much of a tourist trap for my taste. Personally, I think this area is only worth visiting for a single day.
On the positive side, the location is close to the Port of Barcelona, which is absolutely beautiful and worth exploring.
In summary:
👍 Outstanding staff, clean and stylish hotel, great spaces.
👎 Difficult neighborhood, delay in room availability, strange shower design.
I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars, mainly because of the surrounding area and the wait for the room, despite the excellent service inside.
When arriving at the hotel, we were immediately impressed by the high standards, nice rooms, albeit the fifth floor smelled a lot like chlorine in the hallway from the pool a floor above. The staff was helpful and nice for anything we needed, breakfast was delicious and sufficient for a hotel of this standard.
However, as about the districts, sadly it is located in the poorest district, right next to the immigration office and a caritative building for drug addicts, and that showed. Creepy people especially in the night, where even I was not feeling comfortable to stay after 10 pm, heroine addicts lying around, and regularly people fighting in the streets. If you are fearless, go ahead, perfect hotel, but my girlfriend certainly did not feel safe alone, nor as a group of girls.
He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, always with a genuine smile and a helpful attitude. His kindness and professionalism made us feel truly welcome. Thank you, Roberto, for making our experience unforgettable. Highly recommended!
But also the entire staff was very kind, friendly, welcoming and professional.
- Beds are hard, like very hard.
- Rooms are ok, even though some moisture stain has been painted over in the toilet.
- WiFi is so so, speed comes and goes.
- Breakfast is ok, plenty to choose from, but scramble eggs and other hot food is barely warm.
- Luggage lockers you need cash for, and reception is not happy to help out on that.
- Overall service mindset is so so.
- Location is walking distance to center, but located on a smaller street with some odd people in the area as well as some homeless people around.
The hotel is situated close to the metro stops Drassanes and Paral•lel (~6 minute walk each) and is walking distance from Las Ramblas (~ 10 minutes). The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and the lobby and exterior is also beautiful. Just be cautious of walking around the area too late at night since my partner and I felt a little unsafe/uneasy in the area (but again, it was late at night). Other than that, it’s a nice hotel :)
Expedia was willing to contact the hotel to see if a rebooking would be possible, as cancellation was not an option. The rooms were available for the February 6th to 9th period, and I even offered to pay the price difference since the new dates were more expensive. However, the hotel denied the request.
My friend then tried to reach out to the reception to clarify the matter, but the receptionist was unfriendly and uncooperative. The least the hotel could have done was to show some flexibility, especially since I explicitly offered to cover the additional cost.
The lack of helpfulness and the unprofessional treatment of customers are disappointing. I cannot recommend this hotel, as their service in this situation fell far below expectations.
