Reviews
You can see by his behaviour that you are not welcome in hotel and that he is fed up with tourists( btw if there were no tourists he wouldn't have his job ,but obviously he doesn't care)
Also not all but some other receptionists answered our questions by yes or no..no info no nothing what i asked.
Our room was clean, but smelled on sewer from the toilet from day 1 till the end.and if we open window it was in the building, so no fresh air.
Breakfast was good, but not worthy 19€.also it was said that we will get discount on breakfast if we book through their website..no discount.cheaper to book via booking.com.
Staff working in the breakfast area is great.very welcoming and warm.
The location is great..
Here comes the reasons for the 2 star review. 1) they keep messaging me with the threat to cancel my reservation within 24 hours. However, they did not do it even after 48 hours. If you threaten to do it, just cancel it and I can look for a new booking. 2) why not let your guest pay directly through booking.com? The reason I made a reservation on booking.com is that I am a little bit more comfortable sharing my personal information. If it costs your hotel a bit more, then charge the customer for it and raise the price.
However, I had to give 1-star (0 if I could) because of the long-haired receptionist. I sprained my ankle and had to make some changes to a day tour that had been booked. I politely asked for help with making a local phone call. It was declined. The person at the reception desk (long haired, white male) on the night shift refused to help, even with speaking Spanish to the operator (as my situation was a little bit more complex).
He was very unfriendly and I very directly asked him if the Spanish people dislike Asians or something (I know it's not the case for all) and he said they are tired of tourists. This came from someone working in hospitality. I can't describe how pissed I was.
Tourists, please don't stay at this hotel. Asians too (doesn't matter where you're from or whether you speak Spanish), they just hate you and will make your experience in Spain less than it could actually have been.
Moreover, the beds are not properly set up, adding to the list of inconveniences experienced during our stay.
You need to call reception to adjust the temperature in your room - they disabled room control, which I've not come across in any hotel before. You only find out that you need to call if you first go and report a faulty aircon.
Walls are paper thin - you can hear the notification sound from your neighbours text messages and definitely won't be sleeping if they are talking.
Windows aren't sealed very well, so you hear the night club and restaurants next door.
There's a fridge in the superior room but it turns off when you leave the room, so all of your food will spoil. Just like all of the milk that we had in there for our baby. Too bad for the neighbours - they would have discovered the paper thin walls don't stop a hungry baby.
There's a coffee machine as advertised in the superior room - problem is that you get 2 pods for your multi day stay. Waste of offering a machine...Unless of course you travel with pods from the 10 different types of pods that hotel coffee machines offer.
Now the good -
Location is nice and central.
Rooms have been tastefully renovated and the bed is comfortable
All in all, there are many great hotels in Barcelona, this is not one of them. You can do better.
