We had an absolutely fantastic experience at the rooftop bar, and much of it was thanks to our incredible server, Eric. From the moment we arrived, Eric made us feel genuinely welcome with his friendly attitude and professional service. He struck the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving us space to enjoy the stunning views over Barcelona.

Eric had excellent recommendations, the cocktails were spot-on and paired perfectly with the sunset. His knowledge of the menu, upbeat energy, and effortless charm elevated our evening into something truly memorable. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it made all the difference.

The view of the city skyline was breathtaking, but Eric’s service made the whole night unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back and we’ll be asking for Eric!

Dear Hotel Management,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent stay at your hotel. While your property is rated five stars on Booking.com, my actual experience fell far below that standard — in fact, it would not qualify for more than a three-star rating at best.

Firstly, there was a significant infestation of insects throughout the building, including in the bedding and even inside the coffee machine. I suffered multiple bites that led to a skin allergy, causing great discomfort during my stay.

Secondly, the bathroom sink was malfunctioning, leading to water flooding the floor. What was even more surprising was that instead of offering to move me to another room immediately, a maintenance worker was sent to carry out repairs while I was still inside the room — which I found highly inappropriate. The room was only changed after I took a video showing the disturbing presence of insects next to the coffee machine.

Thirdly, the air conditioning system was extremely poor, particularly at night, and almost unbearable during the day. It is without a doubt one of the worst cooling systems I have experienced in any hotel worldwide.

Fourth, upon check-out, there was an unjustified delay in refunding the security deposit, which I had paid in cash upon arrival. This added further inconvenience to an already unpleasant experience.

Finally, I was asked to pay a City Tax fee, even though this amount had already been included and paid in full through my Booking.com reservation. This kind of oversight creates confusion and reflects poorly on the hotel’s professionalism and billing practices.

Given the above issues, I felt it was necessary to bring this to your attention. I strongly urge you to review the conditions of your facilities and internal processes to ensure transparency and to align the actual guest experience with the advertised standards.

I hope you take this feedback seriously, as it is intended to help improve your service quality for future guests.

Excellent breakfast with a wide variety of choices! The rooftop and pool are stunning! Everything was very clean. Highly recommended hotel — we’ll definitely come back!

Our first experience was meeting with Raul, the hotel’s guest relations manager. And it was lovely. He was helpful, friendly, warm, and he covered all the bases for us to have the best stay. At the hotel and in the city, recommending us different itineraries that would match our preferences. He also helped us find a beautiful restaurant to celebrate one of our birthdays. We felt seen, taken care of, and immediately at home. Raul provided us with the very best first experience.

The rest of the staff keeps a high level as well, and the facilities are clean, modern, and the roof top pool facing the sea to die for.

We thoroughly enjoyed our overall stay at the NH Collection Gran Hotel Calderón in Barcelona. The breakfast buffet provides a wonderful selection of breakfast options in a relaxed, quiet setting … truly a pleasant and easy start to each day. The self-serve buffet is well-stocked, fresh, and thoughtfully arranged to cater to a variety of tastes.

While the overall experience was excellent, one small suggestion would be for the wait staff to serve coffee at the table, similar to the NH Collection Hotel Abascal in Madrid, rather than relying solely on self-serve machines. It would add just a touch more class to an already enjoyable meal.

A special mention goes to Artur, a standout member of the wait staff. He impressed us with his professionalism, warmth, and eloquence. He took the time to stop by our table, share a bit of his story, and show genuine interest in where we were visiting from. It was a memorable and appreciated moment that added a personal touch to our morning.

A really beautiful Hotel with comfortable rooms, kindly staff and perfect service! The pool and the restaurant Tablafina are simply amazing. I just want to say THANKS to the waiter Ricardo for the PERFECT AND KIND SERVICE, he was absolutely incredible. This hotel and is the perfect choice if you want to have a great holiday in Barcelona! I recommend it!

Small rooms with limited light exposure, different than what was on the description page.
Worst room service ever, I have to keep on requesting to clean the room otherwise it won't be cleaned.
Not as clean as a 5* hotel. Empty bottles are kept, if u throw a trash bag next to the door they don't remove it and forget abt any effort to arrange messy stuff.

Bedside light makes noise all night.
Walls are not sound proof.

Had issues with the AC but was resolved after 3 calls requesting to solve it.
Total disappointment of my stay & can't wait to leave this dumpster.

2 complimentary water ended up by one only.

Seriously, the 5 star should be looked into again.

Front desk and guest relations/ brkfast staff are amazing.
Location is perfect.

I recently visited eleven , and it was an experience to remember! The atmosphere was vibrant, with stunning views of the city that added to the perfect ambiance. What made the evening truly exceptional, though, was the service. Our server, Luis, was nothing short of amazing—attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great time. If you’re looking for a spot that offers great views, fantastic service, and a memorable night out, it is the place to be

Pictures don’t do justice to how nice this place really is. The service was excellent. It’s in the middle of the city, very easy to find and within a 15 minute walking distance of pretty much everything. Valeting your car can get expensive but much safer and effortless when compared to using the city’s underground parking decks. The breakfast overall was amazing, huge spread of food, freshly made juices, great coffee, and decent price (try to get this included on your hotel/vacation package, if not it’s still well worth the cost). The rooms were clean. We stayed in room 801 which has a MASSIVE balcony that overlooks pretty much all of Barcelona, highly highly recommend requesting this room). The only drawback about this hotel would be the rooftop bar service. The rooftop terrace was beautiful and well designed; drinks were expensive but tasty; there were a lot of employees but the service was terrible and drinks took 30 minutes to come out. That being said I would still go up there to at least appreciate the views, perhaps bring your own glass of wine. At the end of the day I’d recommend this hotel.

Fabulous one night stay in this centrally located modern hotel. We stayed for one night before our west med cruise. The reception staff were brilliant and gave us a free upgrade from double room with a view to one with the terrace. We were so impressed and room 703 had an incredible view over Barcelona. The hotel was clean and had a roof top pool and bar and we enjoyed a couple of drinks there. Would definitely recommend and return.
