The Hotel Arts - simply stated - is the best hotel in Barcelona.
First... the location is outstanding. Steps from the Sea and a short distance to the best restaurants, shopping, tourist attractions, etc.
Second... the property is gorgeous. The lobby and restaurants are truly terrific. And the pools are amazing - such a relaxing setting to be in while on vacation.
Third... the rooms are luxurious... you truly feel like you are in a 5-star resort. I recommend a room with a Sea view - the water, boats, etc - make it incredibly relaxing to watch.
Lastly - the staff members are the best. Everyone goes "above & beyond" to assist and be helpful... to get such wonderful service while on vacation made the trip even more special. (A special "thank you" to Daniel R. - who was terrific in confirming the hotel room as he was responsive and provided terrific service.)

Ended up upgrading to some of the penthouse suites with some extended family, which were absurdly beautiful with wonderful views. The service was definitely 5 stars; not flawless but always quick to fairly and respectfully correct any dissatisfaction. Excellently staffed and clean. The location is moreso the late night/early morning party scene; it's a taxi or a hike to the cultural heart of the city. Barcelona beaches are close, but a little dirty with trash. Overall a great hotel, but a little ways from the cultural heart of Barcelona.

A true luxury experience that I will never forget. From start to finish you will bear witness to the prestige that is carried with the Ritz-Carlton brand. Getting to the spa felt like something out of Charlie and the chocolate factory as it’s hard to gauge how grand the hotel is from outside but I was escorted to the spa by an extremely welcoming member of staff. The massage I had here was nothing short of spectacular and was well and truly deserved after a long day of flying to Barcelona. I can’t recall a time where I’ve felt more relaxed and relieved after a massage and I have to take my hat off for how professional it was. The icing on the cake was the private spa access at the end. The sheer pleasure that it brought me to appreciate Barcelona in all of its beauty from a jacuzzi and sauna of my own is a memory that I will cherish forever. There was a nice steam room too however I spent very little time in there as the beauty of the spa experience was in soaking in the skyline. If you have the money to spare, don’t deny yourself of this experience. Due to late arrival of my flight I couldn’t book myself in for the morning treat package so I opted for the massage and complimentary spa access instead. If you can do the package with breakfast I’d highly recommend as it’s only slightly more than an hour long relaxing massage.
The only feedback I’d give is that the temperature of the sauna wasn’t what I’m used to as it felt a bit cool. I’m not sure if it required servicing or if the temperature was set low but it’d be nice to have the room a bit hotter or for there to be something to adjust it.

It would have been a 4 until tonight. When we arrived three nights ago there had been a "power issue." Today at noon all rooms lost power, air and one elevator was working. We were assured it would be resolved. The desk was great when we asked to charge our phones and could we get flash light. We went to pool. As we were getting ready for dinner at 5 were called and told we were being evacuated. Advised us to eat dinner and then the desk would be relocating us. Waited 90 minutes to get on the elevator since we were on 17 and every time it opened it was full. No one was being systematic about getting people out. Everyone door opened it was full with people from floors above. We finally made it on and were sent to the Grand Hyatt. Our cab driver tried to extort a fare from us when it was included and we saw the manager pay him. He would not let us out of cab. Moved into aggressive rude American and he let us out but said he was keeping our luggage. Hyatt concierge came out and told him he had been paid. This is definitely not a comparable hotel The Grand Hyatt but we are up at 5 to fly home.
The hotel has 15 floors closed for renovations that would have been chaos. They need a plan for getting people out in order. Concerned about safety of building.,

Hotel emailed me 3 days prior to my stay that my reservation had been cancelled because there were power issues. They did not offer to relocate me, even after soliciting their assistance, and I’m now paying an absurd premium to stay in a less-than-equivalent hotel during the peak summer season. So disappointing for a hotel of this caliber. Don’t really understand how they haven’t offered alternative accommodations given they’re part of the Marriott family. I would caution anyone that values reliability to book this hotel. Better luck at the Courtyard Marriott.

Checked in this morning. We booked through American Express Platinum. The service has been fantastic, the front desk attendants were awesome. They went beyond what you would expect to ensure we were happy. The bar/restaurant by the pool is great. Overall we highly recommend this place. It is a Ritz Carlton and the service is definitely a 5+.

Arts Hotel is one of my favorite hotels in Europe!
The first time I stayed in, was almost 30 years ago, and I've been more times afterward. My first time, so long ago, I was surprised with the automatic blinds, and all the electric controls; now this might be more of a normal thing to see in hotels, but back then (as I said, almost 30 years ago) was the most modern stuff you could find.
The rooms are nice, big, clean, and with lots of luxurious details. The breakfast is one of the best breakfasts I've ever had in a hotel. The views are astonishing, no matter which side your room will be oriented to.
Sure, the price is a bit high, but is worth every penny.
Recommended 200%!

One negative detail, so will get that out of the way. The hotel furnishings could use an update. But that doesn't matter even a little bit because the service in the hotel is the absolute best we have encountered in a long time. From the amount of staff always on duty to the friendly smiles, it is top notch. If you ask for a car at 7:25, the car will be there on time. The answer is always "yes, we can do that." The location is awesome if you want to be down by the water/marina. Highly recommend the Club Level access. They put out a SPREAD all day long. You could legitimately eat all of your meals there (but you shouldn't be the restaurants in Barcelona are not to be missed). The people truly make the difference in this location. Highly recommend.

This hotel excelled at service unlike any hotel we’ve been to. The staff is amazing. We had one night here and the concierge gave us a great itinerary to see some sites. Our room overlooking the beach, and a big surprise of balloons, chocolate and champagne to celebrate my birthday. The rooms are great, but the service is exceptional!
