Hotel Museu Llegendes de

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Llegendes. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Girona’s old quarter, just steps from the cathedral (the Sept of Baelor for Game of Thrones fans!) and other major sites. My room even had a view of the basilica tower.

As a solo traveler, I felt very safe. This part of the old town is quieter and full of charm, but still just minutes away from dining, Las Ramblas, and Independence Plaza. It’s also walkable to the main city area and a 20mkn walk to the bus/train station, though the newer part of the city doesn’t have the same charm.

We are global travelers, having stayed in hotels around the world. We both felt that this hotel was one of the best we’ve ever stayed at. It is a charming building that purports to date back to 300 CE. They have an in-house museum and a free digital book that focuses on the legends of Girona. It’s a place that exudes a love of local history.

Their front staff was attentive beyond expectation. We needed to arrange to be transported back to the Barcelona Airport in time for a midday flight and it appeared I had messed up in my planning. While we were settling in our room, the receptionist called us and announced she had found a bus to the airport that would work and would we like her to book it for us. This was completely at her initiative and we were grateful and impressed. Little human touches like that occurred again and again, like offered to wash our laundry at a small cost.

The location cannot be beat - we were in the midst of the historic center but near the river, which meant no steep streets to maneuver with our luggage.

I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Very unusual lovely hotel. Recommend!

We just popped in because we saw all the interesting art from the outside. But as soon as we entered a very friendly and informative fellow named Henry gave us a full tour of the museum and background of the hotel and collection of artifacts. We were headed to the Dali museum the next day so this was a great appetizer for what was to come. Do drop by.

It's a delightfully quirky place, half boutique hotel and half museum tribute to Dali, right in the centre of Girona's old town. The particular suite that I had was a bizarre love nest entitled "live revolution" (see thr chair photo). Although colleagues tell me that other rooms were more sedate, mine did take a bit of getting used to...! The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.

Very friendly and efficient staff. Comfortable room. Fixed a problem quickly.

A great location to enjoy a few days & nights around the old city to enjoy the ancient walls, Jewish area, Cathedral, bars, cafes and more!
