Hotel Playas de Guardamar

Racism towards all foreign visitors please avoid!!
My and my family are staying in this hotel now .
We are 3 adults and one 14 year old.
We had been given room with 2 beds and I seen on you tube the same room has been given to 2 adults( they were Spanish).

Im convinced that's this room is just 2 adults room and they squeezed us in as every day we get 2 set of towels and only 2 sheets are in the room.
Lady at reception was rude on our arrival but I was nice and ignored it as I understand every one can have a bad day.True is you are not welcome in here .

I seen Spanish caple playing games with animator , no one approached us.

Entertainment is in Spanish.They handed sheet for quiz to Spanish only.Justs didn't approach us at all.
Stuff on reception doesn't speak English.

Lady at reception last night was rude and even I came for extra towels before the on the same day she never said sorry that I had to come and get sheets in the evening as they were missing ,
this is not my job I'm on holidays!!!!

Food is very repetitive and loads of fish.

I will list a few positives and a few negatives.

This is a 3 star hotel. No idea who rates these, but 3 is what they say it is.

Positives -

Location - second to none - beautiful views of the sea and coastline. South facing rooms are best.

Showers - in a bath tub but the water pressure is great and always hot.

Aircon - only goes down to 22C but if you close the curtains when you go out, the room is nice and cool. It's totally adequate.

Pool - well kept and clean. Water temp is ok

Beach access - small foot bridge over a dune and you're there. Great beach

Beds - very comfortable

Fridge - it worked

Negatives -

Some staff are not overly friendly. This is a destination that seems to cater more for Spanish holidaymakers.

Some dirtiness in the rooms, little grubby corners, floors only partially cleaned by housekeeping, marks in mirrors etc.

Building - 9 floors and plenty of lifts, but I wouldn't bring children here. Too many dangerous high points that are too easily accessible to hyper-active kids. The room balconies are a prime example.

Rooms - are pretty basic. No sound proofing and we could hear full conversations from adjoining rooms. I am partially hard of hearing but the woman next door had "problems with her debit card" I heard and on the other side they liked to have Spanish TV on after 1am

TV - a few English speaking news channels.

Restaurant - we were B&B - there were probably 1000 guests so it's buffet style. Some people don't use the tongs provided so I'd get in early if I were you.
You literally queue for toast, coffee, juice etc. The food is ok. Plenty of choice. Bacon isn't really bacon but looks and tastes like sliced pork belly. The sausages are not great. Watch the cutlery, some of it still has other people's breakfast attached.

Dinner - we did it once on our first night. €17 each payable at reception. You pay more for drinks. The hottest food in this buffet was lukewarm. Most things were cold. My wife told one of the staff and was directed to a microwave.

Other Things -

Location - it's a 30 minute walk along a lonely road to Guardamar del Segura. You can access the town by beach walk too but the road is quicker. There is also a bike lane along the dual carriageway you can use. No pavements on the road. There is a homeless hovel at the town end but the guys don't bother you. Girls should not walk alone. My opinion.

Campomar is where the hotel is, not Guardamar del Segura as advertised. There are no amenities there besides the hotel and one little shop up the road that has a very limited stock and a lady who isn't interested in serving you.

Best Car Hire -

We hired a car from Valge in Guardamar and we were able to drop it at the airport. 5 days cost £209 equivalent.

Taxi - Alicante Airport
Taxi from the airport to the hotel took 30 minutes and cost €52 (roughly ) £45 in the UK equivalent.
