Sumus Hotel Monteplaya 4* Superior - Adults Only

Went as a family age range from 16-70yrs. Arrival end of July. Beautiful hotel, most staff very kind and smiley! Inside and out side of the hotel areas were spotless, although the outside pool could have done with a clean as floor was quite gritty on the feet. Outside pool also FREEZING cold so couldn’t spend much time in it. We paid the extra to use the indoor pool which again wasn’t very warm but better than the outside pool. The indoor pool was beautiful though super clean and water was SO clear! Food was ok, would be better if everything was labeled a little bit clearer, including the puddings. Rooms were nice, nothing special but clean and tidy. Unfortunately the beds were rock solid and felt like we were laying on the floor :( Not a huge amount to do outside the hotel, shops both left and right. The beach is the otherside of the train tracks with ample underpasses. But unfortunately the sand is super gritty and the sea quite rough it wasn’t very safe. Also watch out for mosquitoes! Unfortunately we will not be returning to the hotel or area due to personal preference.

Coloured Dot system for all inclusive so be careful Drinks ok. They don't like you going to bar but can sometimes take a while to get served so order before you finish your drink. Sometimes waited 20mins to get served If you buy an named brand it is cheaper than home £4.78 double tanquery & Schweppes tonic Rooms clean Only 4 Salt & pepper pots for whole restaurant which was an absolute nightmare A lot of fish on menu 85% Waiters excellent No smoking around the pool. Aquarobics alternative days They do lactose free & gluten free options which was great David is rude & ignores you. Guillem was excellent & spoke good English Toni also lovely Hotels surrounding ours . One side over looks a crowded noisy family hotel so if you want to avoided children & you get this side you've had it. Overall was a really good experience but not sure l could have spent a week there. Had to eat out 2 out of 4 nights as l am not a fish eater. If you check out & get picked up a lot later your all inclusive finishes at check out where other hotels I have stayed in it finishes when. You physically leave. Maybe I've been lucky

Great staff- smiley, polite, non intrusive. Lovely room, balcony, pool, food. Nice guests. Lovely touches such as afternoon fruit kebab!

Me and my partner have just returned from a week away staying here and all I can say is this hotel is amazing! It isn’t the biggest hotel, but we felt it had a lot of character, it was very well kept, always clean and tidy and the staff were amazing! Reception - When we arrived after a long, tiring transfer, Ayoub greeted us at reception. He was so warm and welcoming, very helpful and polite. He even came up to our room and helped us get our air con working, because we couldn’t figure it out 🙈 During the rest of our stay he always smiled and chatted to us when we saw him round the hotel. All the other reception staff were also so lovely, always smiling and saying hello whenever you walked by. Location - The hotel is situated along a street with lots of other hotels, bars and restaurants. The beach is only over the road and if you want to go into Barcelona there are two train stations just over a mile away that will take you into Barcelona. If you’re not all inclusive or just fancy going out of the hotel for food/drink, there is sooo much choice and you don’t have to venture far. There is also a market on in Santa Susanna which is just over a mile to the right from the hotel on a Tuesday. Room - We stayed in a standard room which was perfect for our weeks stay. It was very well kept, clean had plenty of wardrobe space, a nice cold fridge and a spacious shower. The balcony was a good size with a table, chairs and drying rack. They even left a welcome note with a couple of lollies and a sumus tote bag on arrival. Our room was cleaned every day, we chose to only change our towels once whilst we were there, but if you left the on the shower floor, they would be changed everyday. The cleaning staff were all very friendly and said hello everyday. I would say the room itself was on the smaller side, which wasn’t an issue for us, but I would say if you prefer more space and a specific pool/sea view I would recommend getting one of the upgraded rooms. Hotel grounds - Although this hotel isn’t massive, they definitely make the most of the space they have. There are two pools, both with jets and areas for relaxing in, at the top of the pools there is a sun terrace area with sun beds and big lounging day beds. There are sun beds over the far side of the pool, it would be great if there was slightly more sun beds, but there are always lots of places to sit, either in the bar area or on the comfy sofas. Next to the restaurant there is a beautiful zen garden that has lots of lovely seating which is a lovely places to relax and read if you wanted a more quieter area. Above the zen garden, next to the gym there is another terrace that has sun beds and the larger lounging daybeds. We didn’t sit up there but we looked around it on our first day and it looks to be a great sun trap in the morning. Had an absolutely amazing stay at this hotel. Me and my partner stayed for a week and we couldn't fault it at all! The rooms were clean, comfortable and well decorated. The rooms also had air conditioning which is a must, when it's really hot. The hotel is beautiful inside. The staff are really friendly and helped us out with any queries or questions we had. The pool area is amazing and the Jacuzzi, I didn't want to leave it. The hotel had a beautiful Zen Garden which was so relaxing to sit in and a lovely sunroof terrace. The spa was incredible, it was extra for the spa but worth every penny. The spa had a gorgeous pool, jacuzzi's, a plunge pool, a sauna, a steam room and rainforest showers. The spa was absolutely beautiful and worth the money as you got around 3 hours there. I highly recommend it to anyone. The food in the hotel was absolutely perfect, they had a great selection of cooked meals and everything you could think of. They also had a wonderful selection of desserts. I couldn't fault the food and looked forward to breakfast and dinner everyday. We stayed half board and it was worth it for what we paid. The lady in the restaurant on the desk is absolutely lovely, so shout out to her for offering amazing service. The hotel itself is in a good location with loads of shops, stalls, restaurants, bars around it and a beach a short walk away. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the train station and from there it's very easy and accessible to take day trips to places. During our holiday we went to Tibidabo Mountain/theme park, we went to Barcelona City Centre, we went in La Sagrada Familia, to Las Ramblas, La Boqueria Market, The Gothic Quarter in Barcelona, We also did a day trip to Montserrat, all through catching the train, a 15 minute walk away from the hotel. We also went to Marineland Waterpark in Catalunya, which has a free bus that takes you from the back of the hotel at a bus stop. We also arranged an excursion through the hotel which was excellent called Beautiful Costs Brava and we got a day out at Tossa De Mar, which was beautiful, I highly recommend. We got to go on a glass bottom boat from there past some caves and coves, we then got taken to a beautiful beach called Cala Giverola beach and then we went from there to a Winery in Lloret De Mar. This trip was wonderful. I highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be coming back again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Only been here a day, could not wait to do a review, everything is quality, hotel is very well designed and modern,staff very friendly and professional, gym and sun deck really really good, as for the food it is exceptional only had 3 meals so far but wow so good, will update before we leave next week.

The hotel is excellent and has a great location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are cleaned everyday and the rooms are comfortable. The restaurant is excellent and the food is fantastic and a great choice for every meal. Very pleased with this hotel and would be happy to return
