Sweet old hotel up on the hill overlooking the ocean. Though it was raining from time to time (which is rather normal), we could spent quite a bit outside and enjoy the stunning view of the ocean and the nearby mountains. They have a rather large playground for kids and all in all a very nice experience.

Beautiful views & super peaceful place but it is not acceptable the poor WiFi they have, specially taking in consideration the lack of good cell phone signal there.

The check in was great and seamless, the person at the front desk spoke excellent English.

The restaurant is not worth the four-star rating. The dishes were pizza, hamburgers, chicken wings etc. Without any actually "great" food options. We travelled down the mountain to eat in the city.

The beds were great and there was even a extra pillow in the closet. The room also had a geat shower with lots of room to wash yourself.

There was no garbage bin in the room and we had to use the small one in the bathroom. There was also no toilet brush inside the bathroom, which we thought is a bit peculiar and unsanitary.

Also to note - the "garden view" is a view to the courtyard and you need to close the curtains to have some more privacy.

A wonderful, secluded hotel with amazing views over San Sebastian (weather permitting).
Reasonable price, comfortable beds, clean rooms, €11 for breakfast.
I would recommend this hotel.

+ The check in went fast and the staff was friendly. The hotel is beautiful and has a nice restaurant for breakfast, lunch and diner with a beautiful view. We felt welcomed and they were also friendly to our dog! The drive to San Sebastian is around 15/20 minutes so if you have a car the hotel is good located. The pool is nice.
- In the evening we went to the bar/restaurant for a drink and there was a bit a stressful atmosphere. There were a bit to many tables for just two people staff and you saw that the service was a bit slacking. The gym could have an upgrade if you're looking for a good sport session. All with all, would come back for an other stay!

Hotel Gudamendi is one of the few places that, together with the Igueldo amusement park, retains the romantic atmosphere of what San Sebastian was like in its heyday. It was built in 1933 and was home to a pigeon shooting club before being converted into a hotel. Its location and views are impressive. Because it is not centrally located, it remains unnoticed by mass tourism, making it a real oasis of calm at certain times while you enjoy a drink in good company on the outdoor terrace. Its swimming pool, which is for hotel guests only, is also wonderful.

It shouldn’t be a 4-start hotel. Maybe it was in the past, but the service is very poor and hotel is outdated. For dining-in you need to book early in the day and the waiter isn’t any happy to serve you in a Monday night. We’ve orders a tea and a coffee and we there many tables booked as reserved, even thought there only 2 people in a table and other 3 in another. We order coffee and set down in a table with placemat and cutlery, the waiter came in shouting to us: couldn’t you see that the table is reserved! But there wasn’t any Reserved signage indicating anything. Never returning

A hidden gem. I stayed here for 3 nights and couldn’t be happier. The rooms are perfectly equipped, the accommodation has all the right amenities from kids to adults and the food/service was incredible. During the stay we had the same waitress throughout (wore a scarf around her neck), each night she provided fast and welcoming service and very visibly works very hard and deserves any praise that comes her way. I would stay here again.
