Reviews
The hotel itself is modern, clean, and stylish, with a welcoming ambiance. My room was spacious, well-equipped, and very comfortable, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The beds were excellent, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and I appreciated the little details, like complimentary coffee and tea in the room.
Breakfast was a highlight—plenty of delicious options with fresh local ingredients, catering to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready with recommendations on things to see and do around the city.
Rooms are quite large and clean even if a little up to dated.
Breakfast is vaste with a high quality
But Insufficient cleaning.
One day at the start of the breakfast (6:30-7:00), the staff was unable to make omelettes for about at least half an hour. Generally, the breakfast buffet was slightly unprepared that day.
I had an absolutely horrendous experience at the Radisson Blu in Helsinki. The hotel has an underlying safety issue with their 20-year-old hairdryer. On the second day after my check-in, the cable was leaking and sparking, which burned my hair and pajamas. When I reported this to the hotel manager, she offered a 60 EUR gift card to Sokos shopping mall as compensation. I refused and asked for a refund, which she eventually agreed to.
When I went to the reception to check out, a Russian-looking lady was there and told me she had to check with the hotel manager, displaying a quite unpleasant attitude. After disappearing into a side room near the reception, she returned to say I could check out and that they would inform Booking.com about the cancellation. I requested a printed proof or an email confirming that they would handle the issue if anything went wrong, but she flatly refused. Despite explaining why I needed this, she became even ruder and impatient, insisting that they could not provide such documentation. Eventually, she said they would email it to me, but when I asked when it would be sent, she replied, "We will send it as soon as we can," with a very unpleasant expression.
I then asked to speak with the hotel manager, Cristina. I was told Cristina was in a meeting and would be out "when she is out." This vague and unhelpful response was infuriating. The reception lady’s rudeness was overwhelming. I turned to another black-haired receptionist for help with the printed proof. She also seemed impatient but eventually came back with a printed paper with our booking information.
I am extremely disappointed with Radisson Blu. The hotel is old and has significant safety issues, and the reception staff's rude attitude only added to my frustration. I am not sure if the reception lady was being discriminatory because I am Asian or because I booked the room via Booking.com, but either reason would be unacceptable. I will never stay here again and strongly advise others to avoid this hotel.
(If you're coming to this hotel from the airport via the train, don't leave through the front of the station. Instead, take the exit to the left at the end of the platform and walk 150m, up the steps, and you're at the blunt end of the cul de sac in which the hotel is located.)
The location is 10/10
The staff are super friendly and rooms are very tidy and clean
Gym is a bit small but clean. Opens from 6-11 daily
They have sauna separately for men and women
The breakfast is excellent from the quality and variety
My only negative point during my stay is that i have requested an early breakfast to go for a day that i have an early morning activity
I was given the only thing that i specifically said that i cant eat (pork sandwich) and 1 apple 1 orange 1 small piece of cake and a kids juice box
It was very disappointing and i felt like i was missing the breakfast of that day
Other than that everything was good
