Good hotel for solo business trips. The sauna and the pool are extra nice. Perhaps the lack of a restaurant during the evening might be a downside.
Clarion Hotel, Helsinki @travel_citiesandmountains I stayed here for three nights in September 2024. The self check-in process is straightforward and doesn't take long. The room was decent and had a kettle and and tea and coffee provision, a minibar, a safe big enough for a 15" laptop and some shelves and hanging space to store clothes so it would be a good option for a stay of a week (or maybe...
Excellent hotel for business or city trip. The rooms are small but sufficient for a short stay. Breakfast outstanding and event has outdoor space for the summer days. Sky room and spa and open door pool on the roof!!!!
Amazing hotel a really nice walk from central Helsinki. We had a twin room, which was fine - petite but the bathroom was lovely and we could see the sea. They'd forgotten the crib we asked for, but brought it up within 5 mins of calling reception. The sauna and pool were amazing (although in September the pool was not warm enough for a baby). Breakfast was good - loads of options including bacon etc...
Staying at the Clarion Hotel Helsinki was a fantastic experience. The modern design and stylish interiors create a vibrant yet welcoming vibe. The views from the Sky Room are stunning, especially at sunset. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. The hotel also offers good value for the price, with high quality at a reasonable rate. I particularly enjoyed the rooftop pool and sauna...
Stayed 5 nights in July 2024 and I can really recommend Clarion Hotel in Helsinki. The hotel is quite new, the rooms where clean and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The trams run every few minutes just outside the hotel. Staff was polite and professional. Thank you for a great summer holiday at your hotel!

I was in Kubernetes event there. Environment and professionals were great. Food was overall good, service was quite good as well. Rack was not monitored and cafe didn't have anything to eat. Location is central Helsinki so can't complain.
Great staff. Nice restaurant got a pool in the cellar. That felt a bit outdated with a bit to cold water. Good knowledge on the staff.. was asking. For wegan options . And found out the receptionist was wegan also. That made it easier for us to get recommendations. No que at the reception . Got our room within 5 mins even if we were 1st timers on the hotell
Great location. This is a very nice place to stay - the breakfast especially made an impression. Very fast check-in and the staff was friendly and attentive. Room was spacious with a nice view. In the lobbies, they have this great ambient music mixed with natural sounds playing, great touch. I will be returning here.
Decent boutique hotel in downtown Helsinki, right next to the infamous Kamppi mall, which inspired the founding of Wolt. Solid rooms, good level of cleanliness, sauna and pool areas are tidy, staff is friendly and breakfast buffet is having many options. Hotel works both for business and pleasure travels.
Great hotel with a good pool and sauna to relax. The front desk staff was very friendly, and the room was amazing and comfortable. The only detail, bad wifi connection inside the rooms.
It‘s a great hotel in a perfect location. The rooms are modern and comfortable and the staff is very friendly, supporting and quick. There is a pool and a sauna which are both lovely facilities. The hotel is just a few minutes walking from central station and Kamppi centre is almost next door. Highly recommendable when you are planning a trip to Helsinki.

The reception guy was very friendly and hospitable however there were flies hovering around the computer monitor. At first I thought they'd move on but the second time I went down to reception, they were still there, flying about and making that area feel dirty. Other than that, solid breakfast in the morning.
The view from the room overlooks the lake. It's nice to be in the center of the city. The staff is caring and friendly. A very well located hotel for Helsinki
We stayed 24-25.8.2024. Check-in was at 15 but we only got our rooms around 16:30. There were a lot of other people in the hotel lobby at the time of our arrival. Many of the guests had to wait 10-15min in a queue to check in. We needed to queue twice before getting our room. We were not offered any discounts etc. for the late check in. We were 3 people staying in one room with breakfast, total was...
We had the best stay at this hotel. Everything is perfect. We were supposed to stay 2 nights and we stayed 4. The breakfast is the best. Sauna and pool really are great. The sauna overlooks the park. The hotel is super clean and the staff is super sweet.
The most overall look was nice and clean. If you look at some details like scratches on the wall or the weird plumbing situation with the bathroom sink then you can notice some imperfections. For breakfast you were guided to book a table in advance but in reality the breakfast was a chaos and you had to find yourself a table. The food was nice and the staff were friendly. The parking garage was full...
The room was really hot and it wasn’t possible to regulate it to make it cooler, which made it pretty uncomfortable. However the service was friendly, breakfast good and the best of it all was the view from the sauna. Highly recommend having a morning sauna and swim!

Spacious room, guest needs well covered without being excessive. Towel warming rail was a real godsend for me. Thoughtfully arranged hanging spaces that I very much appreciated. The bed was unusual with a thin mattress pad but it was surprisingly comfortable. I really liked the commitment to sustainability, including paper bin liners, rubbish sorting, and encouragement to drink Helsinki's delicious...
Enjoyed my stay at the Hotel. Furniture is old, so is the bathroom. Despite These Things this Hotel has somehow a luxurious and calming Vibe. Breakfast was excellent, but If you come late, it gets very busy. (It might have been only this Weekend, There was an Open Air Concert and the Helsinki Marathon)
It's a very nice place to stay overnight. The room was spacious and bright. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was offered in a huge display, maybe even a little too much. I could imagine there's a lot of waste being produced there.
The location was great as I walked to the hot spots for 10 minutes. Great walking distance to major landmarks and water. It is close to tram and groceries store. The room was comfortable.
The Scandic Grand Marina Hotel, nicely fusing the functionality of modern facilities with historical air, stands in Helsinki, Finland. Its location—only a stone's throw away from the Market Square and the Uspenski Cathedral—paves the way toward the main visited spots in Helsinki. The hotel is situated in a beautiful building in Art Nouveau style, lending some character to the event. Guests often mention...
We stayed at the Grand Marina for a few days and we very pleased with our overall experience. The rooms were comfortable even if not spacious by North American standards, but functional. The staff were very receptive to our requests ( kettle, extra hangers and such) and very friendly. The breakfast buffet is quite impressive. What a beautiful new hotel in the most convenient location in Helsinki! The bed was super comfy, bath tub was a pleasant surprise, service very friendly and flexible, the building itself is so pretty - i felt like a VIP staying here. Tip for dinner: burger at the hotel bar was amazing ✨
The hotel has a very unique character, loved it. An old train station building very nicely renovated. Location is excellent, you can walk to every interesting place in Helsinki from here.
We had a great room, with an amazing shower. The breakfast is good although it is the same selection every day. The hotel is huge and has some related issues such as a very crowded breakfast room and a luggage storage room that is overfull.
Overnighting on the way back from London, this hotel feels really luxurious! Utterly elegant room in the old part of the building, beautiful colours, extremely tidy, overly abundant breakfast.
Loved this hotel! It has a lot of character, being located in a stylish 1930s former headquarters of Finnish railways. The location is central to everything, including the railway station but the sound insulation is perfect - no noise at all! Rooms are modern, beds comfy, clean, friendly service. And their breakfasts are really good! Recommend!
Great hotel, couple minutes away from the train station! The windows are so good, you don’t hear the noise from the central station! The breakfast is amazing, wide variety of food available! I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel if you are visiting Helsinki

Very good hotel in centrer of Helsinki, 4 minutes walk to central station. Rooms spacious and brand new. Various food were provided during breakfast. Lots of vegan and sustainable foods
Interesting place clearly updated but only to a point. I don't understand why (other than cost) why hotels, especially tourist hotels, have only one baggage holder when there's generally 2 people in a room. The lobby desk is periodically overwhelmed so they will not answer the phone. Mostly understandable. Breakfast is a free for all but I think it speaks more to the clientele than the hotel. People...
We stayed in a room on the -1 floor, which was neat and clean. The front desk staff were friendly and professional, and the breakfast buffet was a delightful bonus. - However, the shower drainage could use some maintenance. - Overall, it was a positive hotel experience.
We loved everything from the location, service, and the rooms. One of the best Scandic hotels we stayed in during our Scandinavia trip. The staff and rooms are fantastic, and the little touches and gestures made the trip great. And, of course, one of the best breakfast buffets (if I have to compare the other 4 Scandic hotels we stayed in). I would love to come back.
One of the best places I have stayed in Europe! Worth all the hype. I am a very light sleeper and I got full 7 hrs of good sleep, the room was clean and stylish. The breakfast was fantastic! Will definitely come stay longer!
What we liked: - breakfast until noon on the weekend that’s just amazing really - great selection of food on breakfast - view from the room - good location What we didn’t like: - not the best Scandic breakfast experience - the room was dusty and not really clean - the fact that you must call to the reception if you want your room being properly cleaned (go find this tiny piece of paper where they...

Lovely hotel - super chic, nice rooms, sustainability themed throughout. Love the foyer and includes a piano to play on! The bar was lovely and the breakfast was great. The wellness centre on the top floor is cool - two saunas, steam room, pool, jacuzzi and plunge pool. Staff on the front desk were friendly and quickly helped us with a cot and change of sheets. Lovely stay!
I took my partner here for a long weekend so we could visit Helsinki. Breakfast and wellness facilities were included which both were very nice. Easy transport to the city and airport. Rooms are small but cozy and everything you need. Would definitely stay here again.
Rooms were small for typical US traveler, but completely adequate for a stay. Spa and breakfast definitely worth adding. Spa area was busy but quite manageable. View from roof was very nice. Price very reasonable. I would definitely stay again.
Beautiful business hotel outside of Helsinki city centre. The rooms are small but comfortable and have everything you need for a pleasant stay. The spa centre is beautiful and the rooftop atmosphere is great. Gym is well equipped. Food is very tasty and diverse.
VALO was very clean and tidy, but wouldn’t recommend it for someone on vacation. The Comfort sized room was VERY small, and the bathroom was laughable. Definitely too small for three adults plus luggage. The whole place has a super hipster vibe, but unfortunately that makes the check in process a little difficult. The kiosks they have for check in/out are not user friendly, but neither is the staff...
While the overall stay was good, there were a few things that could have been improved. We accidentally broke a glass in the room, which felt a bit cramped with very little space. Was there for a special convention so our stay was lengthy. The staff were great, great location, excellent breakfast and the room was perfect. Many thank to everyone for making our stay in Helsinki memorable.
Great value for money in a beautifully kept 50's hotel. Comfortable beds, lovely and large rooms, great location. While service is friendly I was disappointed to find trash left in the bin in our room, and the remote control snugged on the floor under a curtain. Clear signs that cleaning is not doing their job properly. Additionally, the breakfast can definitely be improved upon as a lot of stuff felt...
Lucky pick through Booking. Superb hotel in the city center. Oposite Helsinki central station. Good basis to walk towards the different Helsinki high lights. Breakfast is on the 10th floor. The hotel exceeded my expectations. This is not a luxury hotel but the original elements of the interiors were well kept and created nice classic vibes. This is a beautiful and unique hotel, right on the Bulevardi, one of the nicest streets in Helsinki. The decor was cozy and beautiful, the breakfast was excellent and traditional Finnish. The staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommended!!!
I can't say enough good things about this hotel! We stayed in five-star hotels and luxury villas throughout our trip to Estonia and Finland, and this hotel turned out to be our favorite! We loved this place so much, the highlight being the sauna inside the room! Amazing breakfast and nice staff at reception. Nice art in the room and cozy atmosphere with the music, candles and decoration around the place. Just room service and the minibar seemed unnecessarily expensive so we didn’t use it
Absolutely love this hotel, I booked the room with a sauna and used it as much as possible. It’s a beautiful place to stay. The restaurant is unfortunately not up to the same level but would definitely stay here again !
Amazing rooms, super staff. Great location in Helsinki. Breakfast is ok, but not as good as you might expect from a hotel like this. Food in restaurant is recommended though!
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times since 2019 and will stay once before I leave for Australia. Positives: I highly recommend the Sauna rooms, these are unique to Lapland hotel and are a lovely touch. This hotel is extremely clean and nicer than some other 5 star hotels in Helsinki. I attended conference for 2 days. Food served during lunch buffet was really of good quality. Deserts served during lunch time looked like bakery chef craft with berrys and chocolate along with simple colorful macaroons.
Will definitely stay here again. Very close walk to downtown. Great food. Great customer service. Also have a nice full gym, pool and sauna. This will absolutely be my go-to hotel for visits to Helsinki.
This is my go-to hotel in Helsinki. The massive gym is by far the best hotel facility in Helsinki. Just a 10-15 min walk to the railway station, Kamppi etc., and as a plus the walk is along a beautiful park waterfront. The breakfast selection is excellent, I'd definitely recommend as an add-on. On the other hand the lounge is a bit sad, I would not pay anything extra for that.
Rooms are relatively small. Especially for the junior suite. They first put me in a room where the minibar wasn’t even stocked. Like what? (3rd floor) Had to call the receptionist to ask to be moved to a room with a stocked minibar. ( 5th floor) The junior suite on the 5th floor was a corner room. So it was more spacious and generally looked way better than the one on the third floor. A blessing...
There's just something weird about the beds. I don't know what. Otherwise the staff are fantastic. Be aware there is no coed sauna for hetero couples wanting to relax. The breakfast here is great and worth the extra price if you are using booking. Lots of plugins for charging but you can't cast to the TV.
It is still a good hotel to stay in Helsinki, especially for confidence or seminar delegate. Check in service is smooth and easy going, good breakfast, great size of the guest rooms (even some of the furniture pieces are worn out)... Good sleep quality! Excellent waterfront hotel. Clean, spacious, and well-appointed rooms. Nice bar with average drink prices. Probably the best breakfast buffet on the planet. A safe location with jogging and biking paths across the street. A long way from Market Square (25 Euros by cab or 30 minute easy walk). We walked :-).
The hotel delivers a good experience during my stay at the end of Jul 24.  Staff at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. Hotel seems to be dated and quite dark as limited light was turned on when I arrived.  It is located near the tram stops; thus making it easier travel to city center.  I got assigned to a large room with 2 queen bed, however, with limited sea view. The hotel was near many of the sights and also conveniently located to public transportation.
Charming, cozy, unforgettable! The first thing that grabbed my attention was how unique the hotel felt—there’s this cool, medieval vibe to the building, but with all the modern comforts woven in perfectly. We waited some more time after 15:30 and at some point after further discussions and apologies we were given our keys to our room. This is a very reasonable hotel, relatively 'budget' by Helsinki standards at around €130 per night for a double/twin including breakfast - they often have 'deals'. The location is good, on the edge of the city centre, the reception staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean with good bathrooms (on the downside they're a little small, and hot at night). Location is very good. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms are large, butcsome renovation would be already needed, specifically toilet /bathroom would need larger renovation already.
Location and Staff is great, although the rooms need some renovating. The breakfast makes it worth it though. So good.

The staff is amazing. Definitely helpful. Do remember, that this hotel is a green hotel. The facilities, there is a gym and a sauna (I assumed, provided you are a member of the Radisson group) . I would definitely consider Radisson if I were to revisit Helsinki !
Very good hotel near the central train station. Nice sauna. But Insufficient cleaning. One day at the start of the breakfast (6:30-7:00), the staff was unable to make omelettes for about at least half an hour. Generally, the breakfast buffet was slightly unprepared that day.
Central location but quiet. Accessible rooms not huge but adequate, and the wet-room bathrooms are good. Has a quality feel. I'd stay here again. (If you're coming to this hotel from the airport via the train, don't leave through the front of the station. I spent three nights in this code only hotel. Overall happy with the experience. Pro Location is good and room was clean. Comfortable matrass and handy to have a fridge and microwave. Cons shower could not get hot...warm at most. Windows cannot be opened but air circulation is okay.
This place is a lovely budget friendly option. My room was very pleasant, however, customer service is only conducted over the phone which can be a bit annoying if you are shattered like I was. This is best booked via the companies app.
A weird smell from the shower head in the toilet. It was alright for one night at a reasonable rate in Helsinki. A few nice add on as the microwave, water boiler and a fridge, plus a few coffee pouches.
I stayed for 1 night only, I could say it was pretty good, wasnt there so much noise from the street, there was no customer service, the room was quite clean ! It is not the kind of places you would stay for many days or weeks ! I think couple of few days would be fair enough !
The rooms have self check-in and codes sent to phone available, making them easy access if you have to get a room late at night or at strange hours. My room was standard and tidy, the bathroom sink handle was extremely hard to turn, but other than that the room was great; there was a mini fridge, a double bed and TV, along with a water boiler and a hairdryer. The AC wasn't adjustable and quite loud...
This was my first experience with European micro hotels. The facility is a little older, but my only real complaint was with the thermostat. On two stays over the course of ten days, one room was set to 15c and one was set to 22c. I really don't understand the thermostats, but it wouldve been nice to have a way to change.the temperature in advance of my arrival.

Room wise it’s a 5/5 Very comfortable beds 🛌 My room had a master bathroom and additional bathroom. Water pressure, room space was all super. Location is very central. Service was great, although check- in took longer than usual.
Great location, friendly customer service, awesome spacious corner room with great views of the Main Street. Bedding very comfortable. Do not agree with them charging to use the gym or ti have a cappuccino latte with breakfast. Breakfast was good
A beautiful stay in a lovely hotel. Staff were very welcoming, the room was ready when we arrived at 10am which was a huge relief, and what a room!! Cannot remember a nicer setup and finish to a hotel room. Breakfast was varied (with exceptional vegan options). Overall a perfect stay. thank you very much.
Stayed twice, very central location and good breakfast. Rooms are a bit on small side but still well decorated and clean.
Lovely hotel, facilities, staff, food and suite. Only downside was the room was far too hot and there was no way they would let us open the window.
A prime location! Walking distance to almost everywhere. Room is big, clean, and modern. Breakfast was impressive, with variety of food. However, the area for breakfast is too small to fit the crowds!

Great location, service, and beautiful bar. I wouldn’t have changed a thing it, very well situated, walkable, in a cute area. Very niche thing, but really appreciated the GHD hairdryer - I’ve never experienced a hotel having the same high end hair dryer I have at home!
Truly one of the best hotels in Europe, I absolutely loved my recent stay at Hotel St George and am already thinking about when I’ll be back. For those looking for a hotel that hits on every aspect, this is the one: - Location: couldn’t be more ideal as you are a quick walk to major sites, the train station, or tram spots to venture further - Service: impeccable, the staff treated us very well in...
For context we are a couple in our early 30’s, without children fyi. We stayed for the marathon, it was the perfect distance from the start line and location for city centre. We wanted something that we could have a lovely stay and celebrate the our achievement and this hotel did that. The spa facilities are lovely, very clean and calming. Massages were brilliant. Food - breakfast was great, huge...
We have stayed at the Saint George for a few years in a row now, and every time we are highly impressed. The customer service is top notch, the rooms are tastefully decorated and the location is fantastic. I’d like to give a personal shout out to Pauli, he has remembered me upon every visit, and his customer service/personability is second to none. I hope to see him every time I visit Helsinki!
Our room was great, had everything we needed, except a view. The room had a very small window in the corner making the room in itself a bit dark / gloomy. Bed was great, and the space as well, on top of good bathropes. Shoes they could not find that could fit a 46 / 11 size. The service on the other hand was perfect and everyone was nice and quick.
We booked a suite but didn’t realize how tiny it is until we checked in… It’s cutely decorated but there is no space for placing luggage. They added a roller bed right outside of the bathroom that the door cannot be opened fully and the bathroom door lock was so loud that every time we close the door we had to be careful not to wake up the kid. So awkward… The service was quick that whenever we requested...

Because has special section for people...
The breakfast was outstanding, and the rooms were immaculate, tidy, and extremely comfortable. The surrounding environment is beautiful and tranquil, making it perfect for relaxation and a vacation. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly. The sauna and pool were also fantastic.
kind of chill and cold in the room. no wardrobe for sauna.. pricy breakfast. the rest is fine. 4 stars agree. location is amazing. shampoo in earth friendly bottles. thanks. be back with my own wardrobe for sauna !
Great 3 night stay. Hotel room with sea view was lovely and room was spacious. Hotel is pretty secluded from surrounding area. Only things to note are I'd wanting to head into city center or ferry terminals, it is about a 15-25 minute taxi ride depending on time of day. Users were reasonable, they also have 3-5 taxis at all times waiting outside lobby. Also if you're an American like I am and expect...
As someone who grew up in this neighborhood, coming to Kalastajatorppa was like stepping into a time capsule. This iconic hotel has been one of the top addresses since I was a kid. It has received some upgrades, but in essence the hotel is how I remembered it to be. Oh, they added iglo rooms at the waterfront. Worth checking out for sure. All the staff were very nice. And, watching the sunset from...
The location by the seaside is lovely, but if one wishes to spend more time in the city centre, it's good to be aware that this requires jumping on a bike (available at the hotel), or taking a tram or a car. The room we stayed in (in the main building) had seen its better days, the toilet had a horrible smell and there was no AC, which would have been a problem, should it have been any warmer.
