Where to stay in Helsinki

The reception guy was very friendly and hospitable however there were flies hovering around the computer monitor. At first I thought they'd move on but the second time I went down to reception, they were still there, flying about and making that area feel dirty. Other than that, solid breakfast in the morning.

The view from the room overlooks the lake. It's nice to be in the center of the city. The staff is caring and friendly. A very well located hotel for Helsinki

We stayed 24-25.8.2024. Check-in was at 15 but we only got our rooms around 16:30. There were a lot of other people in the hotel lobby at the time of our arrival. We had the best stay at this hotel. Everything is perfect. We were supposed to stay 2 nights and we stayed 4. The breakfast is the best. Sauna and pool really are great. The sauna overlooks the park. The hotel is super clean and the staff is super sweet.

The most overall look was nice and clean. If you look at some details like scratches on the wall or the weird plumbing situation with the bathroom sink then you can notice some imperfections. The room was really hot and it wasn’t possible to regulate it to make it cooler, which made it pretty uncomfortable. However the service was friendly, breakfast good and the best of it all was the view from the sauna. Highly recommend having a morning sauna and swim!

We had a great room, with an amazing shower. The breakfast is good although it is the same selection every day. The hotel is huge and has some related issues such as a very crowded breakfast room and a luggage storage room that is overfull.

Loved this hotel! It has a lot of character, being located in a stylish 1930s former headquarters of Finnish railways. I was in Kubernetes event there. Environment and professionals were great. Food was overall good, service was quite good as well. Rack was not monitored and cafe didn't have anything to eat. Location is central Helsinki so can't complain.

Great location. This is a very nice place to stay - the breakfast especially made an impression. Very fast check-in and the staff was friendly and attentive. Room was spacious with a nice view. Stayed 5 nights in July 2024 and I can really recommend Clarion Hotel in Helsinki. The hotel is quite new, the rooms where clean and the breakfast buffet was excellent. We had one night stay. Excellent breakfast, everything worked well. In the room there were few details which I would have wanted to be cleaner but overall good experience. I'm happy that they took into consideration my request for good air quality room as I'm sensitive to even smaller things in the air.

Sokos is my goto whenever in Helsinki. You cannot be any more central relative to what you need in the city. The staff are exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The hotel itself is a time capsule of style I hope is never updated to the generic bland vanilla interiors most hotels feel obliged to become. The breakfast is a standout. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I attended conference for 2 days. Food served during lunch buffet was really of good quality. Deserts served during lunch time looked like bakery chef craft with berrys and chocolate along with simple colorful macaroons.

This is my go-to hotel in Helsinki. The massive gym is by far the best hotel facility in Helsinki. Just a 10-15 min walk to the railway station, Kamppi etc., and as a plus the walk is along a beautiful park waterfront. The breakfast selection is excellent, I'd definitely recommend as an add-on. On the other hand the lounge is a bit sad, I would not pay anything extra for that.

Rooms are relatively small. Especially for the junior suite. They first put me in a room where the minibar wasn’t even stocked. Like what? (3rd floor) Had to call the receptionist to ask to be moved to a room with a stocked minibar. ( 5th floor) The junior suite on the 5th floor was a corner room. So it was more spacious and generally looked way better than the one on the third floor. A blessing...

There's just something weird about the beds. I don't know what. Otherwise the staff are fantastic. Be aware there is no coed sauna for hetero couples wanting to relax. Couldn’t adjust the air-con and woke up hot repeatedly. Bed was comfy. Curtains didn’t reach across the windows and let in light from early hours. Although the breakfast was an amazing range of tasty food I prefer not to be surrounded by photos of semi naked men when with my small children.

Got superior room which has a window and table. Excellent location, closed to tram station. Staff are extremely helpful and nice. No blackout curtains in the room, which is a problem in summer when sun rises at 4 am and sunset at 11 pm.

This boutique hotel has a lovely rooftop, is centrally located, and is 30 minutes by taxi from the airport. The rooms are spacious, and there is nice decor; mine did not have a desk; if you want good AC or it runs hot, it may not be the place for you. This was my first experience with European micro hotels. The facility is a little older, but my only real complaint was with the thermostat. On two stays over the course of ten days, one room was set to 15c and one was set to 22c. I really don't understand the thermostats, but it wouldve been nice to have a way to change.the temperature in advance of my arrival.

Great hotel razvitoi infrastructure: pool, sauna, large gym. Beautiful theatraki. Spacious room+ Ironing Board and iron, safe, mini bar. And all this in two times cheaper than hotels in the center. And go to the center by bus 63 which runs every 10 minutes, 15 minutes.

The room was comfortable and neat, the staff - friendly, and the neighborhood - quiet and friendly. It is a little way out of the city centre, so either a car or a ticket for the public transport is a must. The breakfast was good, even though it might have lacked variety. Overall enjoyable.

This is a beautiful and unique hotel, right on the Bulevardi, one of the nicest streets in Helsinki. The decor was cozy and beautiful, the breakfast was excellent and traditional Finnish. The staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommended!!!

We loved this place so much, the highlight being the sauna inside the room! Amazing breakfast and nice staff at reception. Nice art in the room and cozy atmosphere with the music, candles and decoration around the place. Just room service and the minibar seemed unnecessarily expensive so we didn’t use it

Absolutely love this hotel, I booked the room with a sauna and used it as much as possible. It’s a beautiful place to stay. The restaurant is unfortunately not up to the same level but would definitely stay here again !

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times since 2019 and will stay once before I leave for Australia. Positives: I highly recommend the Sauna rooms, these are unique to Lapland hotel and are a lovely touch. This hotel is extremely clean and nicer than some other 5 star hotels in Helsinki. The breakfast was outstanding, and the rooms were immaculate, tidy, and extremely comfortable. The surrounding environment is beautiful and tranquil, making it perfect for relaxation and a vacation. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly. The sauna and pool were also fantastic.

Great 3 night stay. Hotel room with sea view was lovely and room was spacious. Hotel is pretty secluded from surrounding area. Only things to note are I'd wanting to head into city center or ferry terminals, it is about a 15-25 minute taxi ride depending on time of day. As someone who grew up in this neighborhood, coming to Kalastajatorppa was like stepping into a time capsule. This iconic hotel has been one of the top addresses since I was a kid. The location by the seaside is lovely, but if one wishes to spend more time in the city centre, it's good to be aware that this requires jumping on a bike (available at the hotel), or taking a tram or a car. The room we stayed in (in the main building) had seen its better days, the toilet had a horrible smell and there was no AC, which would have been a problem, should it have been any warmer.

Stay here when in Helsinki. Rooms are descent and huge. Breakfast buffet has more options and delicious. Just 5-10 minutes walk from Hensinki Central Railway station. Most of all the staff are great! They are helpful and offerred excellent service to all their guests. Highly recommended hotel!

The hotel has a great location. It is located in the central part of the city. the reception team is very responsive and smiling. The breakfast is very varied and delicious. I recommend the croissants which are unique. I didn't get to use the sauna, but that will be next time. 🇫🇮

I stayed there for two nights, the location is ideal for exploring the city. The rooms facing the backyard are wonderfully quiet, but the windows cannot be opened. The staff are exceptionally friendly. The breakfast buffet is marvellous. The rooms in the "normal" category are not very large, but the bed is great and everything is clean.
