Novotel Orléans Sud La Source in Orleans

This was one of the most upsetting hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We arrived late at night with our two tired young children after a long journey, only to be told that despite having booked a room for 3 adults (which we thought would easily accommodate us – 2 adults and 2 small kids), the hotel would not allow us to stay together. Their response was simply: “policy is policy.”

The “solution” we were given was to split up across two rooms — one adult with one child each. Imagine arriving at midnight, exhausted, and then being forced to separate a family just because of a rigid, unexplained policy. Unsurprisingly, one of our children became overwhelmed by the situation and broke down in tears. Watching our child cry in distress while the staff stood by and failed to show any compassion was deeply upsetting and unacceptable.

The receptionist seemed unable to understand the situation, and when pressed, broke down themselves, leaving us with no support, no accommodation for a family’s needs, and no empathy. Instead of feeling welcomed and cared for, we felt punished for traveling with children.

For a hotel claiming to serve families and guests, this was nothing short of heartbreaking. No parent should have to choose between paying for unnecessary extra rooms or watching their child have an emotional breakdown because of inflexible policies and unkind treatment.

We will not return, and we strongly warn other families: if you are traveling with kids, this hotel is not the safe, understanding environment you would hope for

Tired hotel, rooms with woodchip wallpaper that have been painted over. The room I was given had quite a few bugs on the carpet. Quiet enough hotel, not far from the main route. Expected more after a long drive.

Allright for a night. Stay out of the restaurant. It's the worst I've ever been. The prices suggest top notch experience (for a conference Novotel). A coke cost €5!!!! I paid €9 for a Aperol. Service takes hours. The risotto for €15 was tasteless and dry. My daughter had a kidsmenu burger: cheeseburger with cheese and fried mushrooms on the cheddar? Wait 40 mins on dessert. No attention from service.

You are a part of a tourist trap. You're hungry and forced to pay too much for lousy service and more lousy food.

I love France, but I can't love this place. Don't eat here
