Just had my second stay here and really enjoy Hotel Charles V! The location is perfect -- in the Marais but not "in" the Marais and a few minutes walk to the metro.
The service is so friendly and accommodating -- I arrived for a very early check-in and they were able to get me into my room.
Rooms are well designed, spacious, and feel contemporary.
Overall had a fantastic visit and would highly recommend!

If you want a quiet hotel in an amazing area and want to spend 400 euros. This place might work, but if you want to come home late they will leave you locked out since the door is not always unlocked as they say on check it. I waited five minutes but since it was midnight on a school night being left on the street should not happen at this price point or ever. plus no shower just a handle with a hose it works but not at this price point. the rooms are tired and small. much better deals in Paris. When the night guy came back a woman who was waiting with me argued with him and instead of just apologizing and getting her keys he argued with her about how long it was. NOT THE POINT WE WERE LOCKED OUT IN THE STREET PAST MIDNIGHT. I asked for my key and went to bed. Next time more research. They also lock the AC at 21c or 70 degrees F which is hot when it's an interior hot room.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. It is meticulously maintained and very beautiful. The location is great, close to everything you may need. But what sets this above and beyond other hotels that are also nice is the friendly hospitality and service from Marc-William BELMA. He is very kind and helpful and made us feel so welcome. The best thing about this hotel is the location. The Marais is one of the best neighborhoods in Paris, and the hotel is walking distance to many of the wonderful sights this city has to offer.
Our room was tiny, the bed taking up most of the area, but that as easy to overlook since the street below was quiet and it was simply a place to rest our tired bodies after long days exploring Paris.
The staff was friendly and responded quickly to our questions and requests.
The one major issue we had was with the cleaning staff. When we arrived, the top sheets on our bed were stained. We asked for clean sheets, and all they did was to leave a clean sheet on top of the bed, without removing the soiled sheets below. In addition, our room was not made up, even though we had left the sign on the door asking that it be cleaned. We never got clean towels, but thankfully, the reception staff was wonderful and provided us with what we needed immediately after we made them aware of the problem.

My wife and I celebrated or 25th wedding anniversary at this hotel. The location was perfect! Les Marias is a wonderful neighbourhood that is close to many sites, museums, shopping and attractions. The hotel itself was well maintained and very comfortable. A special mention goes to Mark, the host, whose patience and guidance made our stay exceptional. His recommendations added a personal touch that we appreciated. We definitely would return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris!

Beautifully designed hotel in the perfect location. We loved staying here! A quiet and very convenient location close to all the main sites and metro stops but very peaceful. The staff were all very kind and we loved our room, which was a Deluxe room. It was very well designed and spacious with plenty of storage which was very welcomed. the breakfast was very good as well- many choices made, very fresh and a perfect way to start the day. We would love to stay here again!

The worst hotel experience
At a price of more than 300 euros per night, I was provided with a room on the ground floor facing directly onto the street. Because of the poor sound insulation of the windows, all passing people and cars were very audible. It was impossible to sleep in such conditions, which I informed the reception staff, who, however, replied that the hotel was fully booked, and another room could not be provided. I informed the Agoda that I could not stay at this hotel because of the noise and asked for a free cancellation, to which I was assured that they would do everything possible. I had to look for another hotel at 12 am.
Within two weeks after that I repeatedly wrote to Agoda asking for an answer on the cancellation of my reservation and a refund. Agoda replied that the hotel does not give an answer to my inquiry, and they send another request. I called the hotel and the reception specialist informed me that the manager Caroline decided to withhold the cost of the first night, and for the remaining 3 nights the funds will be refunded. It sounded unfair, because I spent no more than 30 minutes in the hotel and left it because of unacceptable staying conditions.
As a result, after two weeks of correspondence, Agoda informed me that the hotel refused to refund the funds in FULL. Moreover, the hotel referred to the fact that I allegedly did not address them with any claims. What is this, if not a deception? I talked to their reception twice about this situation and explained in detail the reasons for canceling the booking to Agoda through which I made the reservation.
If you want to spend almost 1300 euros for not staying at the hotel and get a blatant lie in response, you need to go to the Charlse V Hotel in Paris.
I will add that Agoda approached the solution of the problem formally and did not provide real help in this situation.

Small but perfectly formed, Hotel Charles V was a fantastic bolt-hold during our 3-day visit to Paris. The staff were very friendly and efficient. They couldn't do enough for us, like suggestion restaurant recommendations, offers to book taxis, etc. The hotel has a welcoming lobby and bar area, where you can sit and read the paper or enjoy a drink. The room was small, but clean, elegantly decorated and had everything you could need. The Gare de Lyon is a short taxi drive away, and the St Paul metro station is a stones throw from the hotel, so getting in/out/around the city was very easy. I would 100% recommend staying her, and intend to return to Hotel Charles V next time I'm in Paris.

Our stay at Charles V was perfect. The location, the staff, and the rooms were top notch. Our concierge Yomna was excellent and she really helped to make our stay special - Yomna was great!
