Kipriotis Hippocrates Hotel

Hotel is lovely, food is good for an all inclusive, drinks however are awful. So watered down and beer tastes of beer flavoured water. Enzo and Max were amazing and provided great entertainment, shame music goes off at 2300. There is nothing to do outside the hotel, only one bar and beach is not good. Kos town is fab but buses never turn up so you need a taxi. Not sure ww would return to this area

A mixed bag – but NOT a four star We stayed at the Kipriotis Hippocrates Hotel recently and while there were a few positives, overall it didn’t quite live up to its 4-star rating. The lobby was clean and welcoming, and the pool area looked nice enough on arrival. Sadly, it rather went downhill from there. Let’s start with the rooms – basic and tired. The beds were rock hard, and the bathroom had definitely seen better decades. The shower-over-bath setup was awkward, with a clingy shower curtain that had a mind of its own. Tea and coffee facilities were minimal – we made one cup on the first day and the used cup was still sitting there four days later. Towels were thin and scratchy, and the general upkeep could really do with a refresh. On the bright side, the air conditioning worked a treat – an absolute blessing in the heat. Food-wise, it was plentiful but repetitive and generally quite average. Water dispensers were available in the dining room, but elsewhere it was plastic glasses only – and not even the nice kind – even when sitting inside at the bar, which felt a bit naff for a hotel aiming for 4 stars. The entertainment around the pool was... enthusiastic, shall we say. Music was loud and constant, and the entertainment staff member clearly fancied himself as a singer. All I can say is, if nobody wants to take part in karaoke, perhaps he shouldn’t either. He was very friendly with a certain demographic, but the rest of us were basically invisible. The sunbeds were very low, dated and uncomfortable – definitely due an upgrade. The cockerel who roams the grounds is cute in theory, less so when you’ve had a terrible night’s sleep thanks to the mattress and are then woken at dawn by full-volume cock-a-doodle-doing. That said, credit where it’s due: the ladies on reception were lovely – genuinely helpful and kind. And the woman on the breakfast egg station deserves a shoutout – always cheerful and efficient. In summary, not a total disaster, but definitely not a 4-star experience. With a few key upgrades and a bit more polish, this place could improve dramatically. Until then, manage your expectations – or look elsewhere.
