The walk to Fira (closest hub) is uphill, 45 minutes and has many old abandoned buildings in the path. The Agali house is a beautiful stone hotel carved in the side of the mountain. The scenic views are unlike anything we’ve ever experienced in the states however be prepared to die when you walk 188 steps from the bottom room to the top. You will sweat

Even after check out, we were allowed to keep luggage there, go for our excursions and when we came back, were allowed to take shower before we left. The five stars are not enough for what it offers. Amazing rooms-villas on the cliff, Caldera. There is a pool that starts next to your bed and ends at a window with unrestricted views of the volcano. We have had a very nice stay in Castello-Santorini. The room was nice, good airconditioning and a nice balcony with sea view. The swimming pool was also nice. They are super friendly!! There is a shuttle service from the hotel that brings you to the city which was very convenient! Good place to stay if you are planning to visit Santorini.

Staff is very friendly and both the room and breakfast was very complete and nice. It's near the cable for getting down to the old port and very close to nice restaurants. It's 15 mins walk from Fira's bus station but be aware that is quite a slope from there. Also you can go up to Imerovigli in another 15 mins to have even better views and sunsets.

It's not a luxury hotel but for the price, i found it good. Friendly staff. 24-hr reception. Wifi was working fine. Air-conditioned. Close to the central bus station in Fira from where buses go to all other places on the island and also close to the sightseeing places but still not on a loud street. We went there for breakfast on two mornings, the view was magnificent, the service was excellent and the food/drink was yummy! It does get busy and in the morning the good tables are reserved for hotel guests, so be prepared to wait during busy periods.
