Matoula Beach Mini-hotel

We enjoyed tremendously the hospitality, kindness and helpfulness of the hotel staff. Everything was just right. The rooms were clean, towels changed every day. Lovely pool, lots of rest. In short, highly recommended.

Me and my sisters stayed for 7 night, the staff all went above and beyond they were all so friendly and helpful, the room was perfect and we got fresh towels etc every day. Breakfast was great as well lots of choice, location was great less than 5 minutes to the beach, about 20 mins from the airport and 30 from Rhodes, with bus trips available to book through the hotel at €8 per adult. The restaurant at the hotel was also brilliant and the pool was lovely. All in all a nice low key hotel very quiet and just what we wanted

The hotel was nice and clean, the staff were helpful and friendly, although the bar staff could be a little more personable. The prices at the bar could be expensive too, depending on what you were drinking. Slight improvements could be made, such as having a courtesy room for later checkouts. Showering in the pool shower, for our late checkout wasn't the best. We only had breakfast, and that was good, with enough choices to be satisfied. I heard varying reports on the evening meal. Just along the road at Bayview Taverna beach bar/restaurant, the food was simple and tasty, and I recommend the fish and lamb chops. Overall, we had a pleasant relaxing time here at Matoula Beach.

Having reached the Matoula Beach late evening on Friday 13th June,we were welcomed,and everything was covered and explained to us fully by the receptionist Fotis.Throughout our stay,I can only describe the staff as very warm,welcoming and friendly. We were in the hotel on b+b basis,however we did lunch,and dinner a few times and the food brought to us was of excellent quality.Unfortunately later in the holiday,I had a medical issue and had to spend a day in Rhodes General hospital.This is when the staff really stood out.Fotis again was incredibly supportive to my wife when she had to return to the hotel,after having to leave me in hospital.All the other reception staff Kyriaki and Matina,and bar staff Melina,Nicos and Pedro were amazing.Lilian(middle name)as she said her first name was too difficult to remember was like a mother to me,making sure I did as the doctor ordered.(staying in the shade,and no 🍺) As you can probably tell,I believe it's the people in the hotel that make your holiday,and all the people mentioned above plus all the other I don't have names for,made our holiday truly memorable.I thank YOU.

I went half board and I would advise anyone to do the same I have walking difficulties but there was always someone to help

My husband and I went to Matoula Beach hotel for 2 weeks holiday and couldn't find fault with anything. We had been here 10 years ago and when booking requested the same room as before (321) which we were allocated. We arrived quite late at night and was greeted by Fotis Lotsakos who was on the reception. He was very attentive to us and gave us all the information we required, ie meal times, events in the hotel etc. Greece has a policy to pay tax which goes to the Government and is requested that you pay this in cash, which wasn't a problem but perhaps this should be made clear at the time of booking. The breakfast had a vast and varied choice and we did have an evening meal one night which was excellent. We went to the Greek night on the Friday which was very good, both the entertainment and the bbq. The hotel is spotless throughout and the staff are all really polite, helpful and very friendly. Esmeralda was the lady who cleaned our room and she was an absolute treasure! The only suggestion I would make is that perhaps the table in the rooms be replaced with a chest of drawers to give more space for clothes but this is not something that made the room unacceptable. We would highly recommend holidaying at Matoula Beach and will return without hesitation. Thank you all for making our holiday perfection.

We had a great stay at this hotel, but a few of things kept it from being perfect, so I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars. The food was a highlight—delicious, varied, and well-prepared, with options that suited everyone. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe of the hotel was welcoming and comfortable. However, the drinks were quite pricey, which added up quickly and felt a bit steep for what you got. Also, the walls in the rooms were surprisingly thin, so it got pretty loud at night, making it hard to sleep if neighbors were chatty or the hallway was busy. There are plenty of sun beds around the pool but they are in need of some newer ones as most of the supports slip out and send you flying back. We arrived at the hotel around 2am and asked the man on reception if there was any drinks available but he said no the bar is closed so we had to walk 35 minutes to a 24 hour kiosk just for a drink, I think a vending machine in reception would be a great idea for early morning arrivals. Despite those issues, I’d still recommend this place for its great food and service.

Nice clean little hotel. A little bit isolated but if you want a relaxing quiet holiday this is the ideal hotel. Rooms clean and tidy, cleaned daily and also fresh towels daily. Lovely pool / bar area with plenty sun beds available, food is of good quality but is little bit more expensive than surrounding restaurants. We asked about the possibility of a courtesy room to have a shower and change on day of departure, but were told not available. Our check out was 12.00 and collected at 20.30 so sat round pool in 30 degree heat so a shower and change of clothes was a definite !!! Receptionist informed us we could use showers in pool area ( freezing cold ) and change in public toilets. For a four star hotel ( Their ratings ) I find this a little poor. Other guests allowed to keep room until ( at extra cost ) but this was not an option offered to us. Fortunately other guests allowed to use their room to shower and change. This left my partner a little upset . Same receptionist tried to inform me to not use a travel company for an excursion I booked stating company where unreliable, as it turned out the company driver was prompt, polite and professional during our trip. The hotel staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble, bar, kitchen and cleaning team. This little issue left a black mark on an otherwise lovely week on the hotel. Maybe they research on a four star hotel to meet customers requirements. Sort the issue of courtesy room and hotel is fantastic.

What a fantastic hotel, such friendly staff who always make you feel so welcome, nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are cleaned every day and are so clean. The whole hotel is so clean. The breakfast each morning is perfect, bar food in the evening has a great choice. Pool area is always spotless. Will be returning in 2026 and cannot wait. The hotel has it's own cat called Zorro who is adorable, he slept numerous days under ou sunbed. This hotel has a great pool and very well maintained gardens. I would strongly recommend this hotel for couples of all ages and families.

First of all. Matoula beach hotel is extremely clean and the staff every single one is lovely and go out their way to help whether it’s booking a taxi, recommending places to go to or booking excursions for you , they were faultless and all very helpful so cannot ask for more than that. The breakfast was a bog standard hotel half board breakfast that is the same as many but can’t expect it to be much more than that, however what I will say is that there was plenty of variety from cereals to yoghurt to cooked breakfast items etc bacon, sausages(although nothing on the uks but same with most places in Greece) and they also changed up and served slightly different items daily which was a nice touch. I read online before coming that planes came over all the time just above the hotel and was a nuisance, me and my partner didn’t find this the case yes they come over every half hour or so but it doesn’t bother you , you just get used to it so don’t let that stop you booking. The only thing that we can fault for the hotel is the location is a bit out the way for me and my partner .Although The hotel did put entertainment on every night until 1am example kareoke nights and Greek dancers etc but as we are 26 year old we like to go out for a drink and don’t like eating in the same place every night otherwise we would of booked all inclusive somewhere. Therefore we ended up paying 20 euros a night getting a taxi into lalyssos every night where there was loads to do loads of pubs and restaurants etc and nightlife. Matoula has 4/5 restaurants around it within 10 minute walk but that’s it, that is the only criticism I had about the place was the location but had I done my research before booking I probably would have found that out for myself. And you can walk to lallysos on the beach or on the path on a main road which takes 25/30 mins. Overall a good holiday and would recommend matoula beach.
