This was one of the most beautiful places I have stayed at. I wish I had longer to explore the gardens and expansive grounds. I am surprised that so much of the dining and drink options were closed in October as there were many guests looking for additional food and beverage options aside from the main restaurant.

Fabulous stay at this hotel in August 2025 with the family for 7 nights. Ioannis, Sia and Angelika couldn't have been more helpful during our stay and the view of Monemvasia is breathtaking! We wanted to stay for one night but stayed in this Hotel for two. First: we are travelling the Greece and every night staying in different hotel. It was our 7th night. Sooo... It was the hotels of 4, 5 stars...etc. But the guys from Filoxenia Hotel were the first where to us was offered (for example) a antimoschito device. And the hairdryer (finally) was working properly. They had also warm blankets...

For us this is the best hotel in Monemvasia: beautiful and clean rooms, each with its own balcony, breathtaking view, the hotel is spotless (very diligent, helpful and nice cleaning team, like everybody else around), has a terrace on the beach where they serve drinks and food (opened till 12 at night, and we had there the best Dakos salad), plus they have sun-beds.. What more can you wish for? Well...

Lovely people, they adapted quickly to my restricted diet (without dairies) and were always very hospitable. Loved them as well as the beautiful place, where your breakfasts are served next to the sea.

Filoxenia means hospitality and is a really appropriate name for this place where a lovely staff did his best for our stay to be the best. The place simple but confortable and clean. Excellent breakfast and a lot of care was taken to adjust for allergies on diary to be compensated. Thank you very much we will come again…

Just completed our stay here. A+++. Staff, accommodations, breakfast, parking, hospitality….. all very good. Extremely convenient to the local town and access to Castle town. The 2nd floor room is all by itself with private balcony!!! το καλύτερο!!

Super location on the island! The room was very nice and a bottle of wine was left for us. The host was fabulous. He went out of his way to help us with the wi-fi, directions, and other items. Definitely recommend this lodging.

Location, Location, Location! It is a step backwards in time, but with current day amenities. Breakfast was great, Staff was very nice and friendly and helpful. Views were incredible. Exploring the lower town maze was fun! Restaurants were plentiful. Biggest regret, we did mot plan enough time to explore the upper level of town. One of the highlights of our trip!

Love the location and main bedroom. Breakfast was great. Staff was excellent. Due to the restrictions the government places on restoring ancient structures the bathroom was tiny, and you couldn’t stand to take a shower. Negative that isn’t their fault due to restoring restrictions. Other than that, very nice place to stay at.

One of my favourite and definitely the best-valued hotel in my month-long trip through Peloponnese. The owner (and rest of staff) is extremely kind and flexible. Ideal place to chill out, just seconds away from the beautiful Ampelakia beach. Staff is super helpful and friendly. You are the best! Quality restaurants also nearby. Monemvasia castle is 5 minutes away by car so you can visit there anytime. We had a great time! Very recommended.

The hotel is well situated. The views are amazing. The swimming pool and the sea are good for swimming and lounging. Make sure to stargaze at the swimming deck in the sea at night! Staff are nice hard working people.

The place was empty and it was past lunchtime and yet they accommodated us with open arms. Food was delicious, terrace has gorgeous view overlooking the sea, and the staff was kind, helpful and courteous. What's not to like? I would definitely recommend not only the restaurant but the hotel too, which has a swimming pool.

The location gets 5 stars. Right by the sea with a lovely deck so you can go swimming. The disappointment was breakfast. Of course there was the difficulty of Covid with no self-serve buffet allowed, but what we were served was poor (some slices of white bread along with little packets of jam, butter, honey), white toast with ham and cheese, a thin omelette and a pancake with chocolate spread, yogurt...

Lovely place! We had a really nice time there this summer. The owners are great and fluent in English.

Our room at klelia hotel was nice clean and comfortable, with a sea view balcony. The hotel has a good position from the centre of Gefira (about ten minutes walk) and from Monemvasia (about twenty minutes walk). The lovely girl at the reception is extremly kind and professional.

Great hotel, great location, the best people. We had a realy good time. Hotel is close to the center of the new city of monemvasia (3 minutes on foot) (and 10 to the castle). Our room was big and comfortable and the owners made us feel at home. I now this may sound a bit cliche but it's just the truth.

Fantastic value. We paid a few pounds more for a "superior" room and were given room 17. Two balconies, with wraparound views. Certainly not a £50 view!! Can't rate highly enough. Right on the causeway so very convenient. Spent a very happy afternoon just sat on the balcony taking in the view.

Small room but great location if you’re just staying for one night to see the island. Room gets a little noisy in the evening as there is a pub downstairs. Other than that it’s a value for money place to stay.

Situated almost immediately by the bridge to the island, AKTAION Hotel was quite comfortable, and well positioned for restaurants. My room was one of the smaller ones, but it’s balcony faced the island and the sea. I would most happily stay there again if the opportunity occurs.

I had a lovely 7-day holiday at the hotel 27th April to 4th May with my elderly mother. Pristine accommodation, great views, and excellent hospitality. When we left, we felt that we had made friends for ever. ❤️

We were fortunate to have a room with a private terrace with lovely views over the town. Breakfast buffet had a good selection and the sheltered courtyard was a lovely place to eat. We enjoyed watching the moon rise from the cocktail bar, and particular praise goes to Georgios the bartender who plays great music and mixes a mean mojito.

Super convenient location, amazing view and beautifully decorated rooms. The breakfast was delicious with fresh food and drinks. Staff was very polite. We hope they keep their prices reasonable so that we can visit again at some point in the future.

A small but nice hotel, especially since it has a Saltwater pool and the Sea is possibly 50 meters away. They handle the covid19 problem with success, especially for breakfast. The appartments were clean. The employees were friendly. The location was superb. But it was overpriced and this droped my rating by a star. I do not know if the overpricing was due to booking.com but we payed to much for the room.

Super friendly and helpful people at reception. We had a room close to the main street with a great view from the terrace over the buildings below to the sea and also to the upper town. The room was beautifully furnished and very clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was plentiful and included local delicacies. The only drawback was that the bathroom was small and it got quite wet when using the shower.

Súper happies to be back again, after 6 years, and to find the lovely Anna with all the other staff (Constantina, Theodoraki, Irakli...) and enjoy the rooms, suites and the stunning views and stay in our forever beloved Monemvasia. We'll be back soon!!!

We had a fantastic three days! Communication was clear and helpful from start to finish, and the restaurant recommendations were absolutely spot on. Staying in the old town was a real treat, full of charm and character. It was low tourist season making the city easy to navigate. Highly recommended!

Fantastic location and the view of the ocean from our room. Breakfast was super good, the best one during our trip in Greece. The property is not new and there was some smell of old wood in the room. I hoped to use the fireplace as it was cold outside but they didn’t have wood, so it was disappointing.

Wonderful Hotel, it was such a cool place to stay and walk around and explore history so close. The hike up the mountain was an adventure and worth the views. Definitely a must when visiting Greece.

This is a very nice hotel with lots of character right in the fortified town. However, if you have any mobility problems the hotel’s location and rooms may be a challenge. Lots of uneven walking and stairs and our room had some steep stairs in it and was a little difficult to get around in. Parking is on the road and you’ll have to walk about 300 metres to get to the hotel inside the old town.

Clean, cheap, friendly staff and very convenient location. Can be a bit loud in the morning.

No protection from the Sun, no breakfast (the claim of the basket is ridiculous), and next to a noisy spot of the main road. Other than that, it's relatively good for the price, clean, and with a mosquito net on the window.

Rooms are clean and comfortable! Monenvasia is 15min walking distance and there are plenty of parking spots around the place. Recommended!

The room is excellent, fully equipped and clean. It is located in a very good spot, on the main cobbled path and near the gate of the castle. It also has a sea view. The owner is very kind and helpful. I highly recommend it!

Beautiful views, lovely property offering everything you would need. Only problem was total lack of signs on property. Sign just says Villa Plus on a very very small sign on a public lamp post. Eventually after a couple if hours git hold of local rep who we met up nearby and he showed the way. Really must get a villa name plate on the actual gate at the main entry!

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The area is gorgeous!! One can walk everywhere. I loved the view of the Rock from the balcony. The beds were not very comfortable. I had great difficulty finding it at night as the sign is difficult to see in the dark.
