Lovely hotel! Brilliant location right on seafront and close to town's restaurants and shops. Staff are so friendly - Pinelopi and Katerina on Reception were extremely kind. Welcome drink on arrival and a voucher for a free drink at the bar also. Pool area is relaxed and there are loungers on beach and round the pool so best of both options. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast really nice and wide selection. Defo recommend this!

Just returned from a week at this fabulous hotel . This hotel is amazing the bed one of the comfiest i've ever slept in . The attention to details is second to none and i would 100 percent stay there again . The staff penelope on reception and eddie who worked in the restaurant and bar were lovely and friendly . The location of the hotel is amazing as well as the food we ate one evening in the restaurant and the food was just amazing . Would definitely recommend this hotel 10/10

My parents came from Azerbaijan for one week vacation here and absolutely loved it: nice and clean hotel, access to the beautiful beach, a beach bag with toiletries. What make their stay even more lovely was a very attentive staff - Penelope, Catarina, Mohamed, and special thanks to Andreas for his signature daiquiris!

Room was tiny - the photographs online show there is enough room for a sofa and large bed and some floor space - The room we were allocated was so small my partner had to climb over the bed to get to the other side - no room to walk around . It was really ridiculous so claustrophobic not even a window just one single glass panel door - we complained and got moved two 1/2 days later after countless attempts with reception and living out of the suitcase - waiting on reception calling us …. Terrible start to our holiday. Then after being offered a room over looking the car park- (that we refused ) as we had booked a pool / garden view room . We were very much Treated like they were doing us a favour !! Also asked for a late check out as we had a 8 pm coach pick up and they could only offer us use of the toilets to change in either there or at sister hotel down the road after the standard 11 am check out . I’m disabled and they said that Jet 2 hadn’t told them about the additional needs ! Jet 2 did . The Jet 2 rep was a nice lady but hopeless in assisting us with our complaint total waste of our time with her . On the website and all online photos it shows the pool has a handrail around the shallow area to allow me to walk into the pool unaided - IT HAD BEEN REMOVED PRIOR TO OUR ARRIVAL so it meant I was left really struggling to get in and out the pool . Nothing about this hotel says 5 star - we would rate a 4 star at best - not impressed at all . The cleaning staff were rude and dismissive- but the rooms were modern and briskly cleaned each day , not throughly. Pluses - Breakfast was tasty really varied and plentiful.

My wife and I loved this hotel. Right next to the beach and breakfast was wonderful. But what made our trip extra special was the hotel receptionist Katarina. She was so kind and helpful. She gave us the best recommendations and made the hotel feel like a home.

Me and my daughter really loved our week at the Porto Platanias Luxury. Nice room/suite and facilities, clean, peaceful environment and top tier service from the lovely staff! The room was very well equiped, good comfortable bed, great air condition, bathroom supplies including razors and other useful items. Also a ironing board and iron so one could get wrinkels out of the shirts. Breakfast was superb and a good variety to choose from, all with an magnificent seaview and friendly considerate staff . We also appreciated the smooth service of drinks and snacks direct to the sunbeds after ordering in an app. Great service from the crew in the reception too, they helped us with everything from luggage to booking of excursions. All in all, I’m happy to recommend this Hotel and I’m likely to return if I visit Crete again.

we won’t be staying here again. The amenities are just not up to our usual standards. the airconditioning system is substandard so the room was rarely cold enough and we are in the air con business. out of the hundreds of hotels we have stayed at in the past 40 years, this is the only hotel that doesn’t supply free water every day. Our television had constant internet issues so we couldn’t use it and the hotel breakfast and room service food was around a 4 out of 10 for me. The food was always cold and without flavor and extremely limited choices and the staff have very limited english.

Porto Platanias Luxury Selection exceeded every expectation I had. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the attentive staff who made check-in super easy at the reception. The lady at the reception was so kind and professional. The attention to detail throughout the entire stay was extraordinary. The rooms are impeccably designed, modern, elegant, and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Every morning we were greeted with a rich and beautifully presented breakfast buffet featuring fresh local ingredients, healthy options, and delicious Cretan specialties. What really sets this hotel apart is the exceptional service. Every staff member —from reception to housekeeping to the restaurant team (specially Georgia) was genuinely kind, professional, and eager to ensure our stay was perfect. We felt truly pampered at every step. Whether you’re visiting for a romantic getaway, a relaxing holiday, or a luxury retreat, Porto Platanias Luxury Selection is a rare gem that delivers a five-star experience in every sense. I can’t wait to return!

Lovely location and great staff. 2 main gripes. Limited wardrobe space. One of us living out of suitcase! The main issue we have is the breakfast. Such beautifully cooked food but left to go stone cold! Hot plates not on so all cooked food left to go cold. No issue with quality of food but don’t enjoy eating cold food, might as well just stick with continental option. Such a shame as chefs so proud of their food! Please can we have some heat!!

Great rooms, very quiet and comfortable. The pool is very relaxing and the beach is all that you expect for your Greek vacation. Fantastic cuisine and bar. The staff is very hospitable and polite. Overall a great choice for Platanias especially if you are a couple or small parts of family and friends We loved everything about this Hotel and particularly enjoyed the cuisine and the relaxing times around the pool and in the bar. We will return!
