Disappointing Experience at Saliris Resort Spa in Egerszalók
When I first saw the pictures of the Saliris Resort Spa in Egerszalók, I was truly impressed. The stunning visuals and the unique salt hill formation made me believe this would be a top-tier spa experience. With such high expectations—and especially considering the 10,800 HUF entrance fee—I assumed everything would be well-maintained and of excellent quality.
Unfortunately, my visit turned out to be a major disappointment.
Inside the spa, the facilities were noticeably run-down. The outdoor area was poorly maintained and far from the relaxing atmosphere I had imagined. What bothered me the most, however, was the state of the thermal pools. The water in the medicinal pool was far from clean—there were pieces of skin, various floating plastic objects, and clumps of unidentified debris. It was unappealing and unhygienic.
On top of that, the service at the snack bars within the beach area was painfully slow, adding to the overall sense of disorganization.
I left the spa completely disillusioned. A place that charges such a high entrance fee should provide a much higher standard of cleanliness, service, and overall experience. Unfortunately, Saliris did not live up to its reputation or price tag.

This Hotel destroyed a beautiful and interesting natural geological site.
It should be removed and the nature should be restored.
I have no clue how it got the permit to being build so close to the spring.

Great rooms, great pools, great food, great service!!!!! Cannot give enough praise! We loved every second there and wish we could have stayed longer. We visited in March. Reachable by bus or taxis for those without a car.

I did not stay at this place only went to use thermal water.
Extremely rude service, screaming it loud and clear - if you do not speak Hungarian, you should not be here. Never ever again I will try to spend my money here.
The same experience on the public bus - I have shown the name of the stop I need the ticket to and was shouted at - speak Hungarian!
Not welcoming country at all.

The spa is totally run down, in terrible condition. Dead rat next to the Sunbeds ?!?! This used to be a great place, now it's a disaster not worth to stay next to the beautiful creation of nature, the salt hill with the thermal water.

Very relaxing break at this establishment. The rooms (not sure about the glass doors to the toilet facilities though!!) were very clean and the staff were extremely helpful. The spa/wellness facilities were very good with different levels of heat/minerals in the pools. It was described as having 17 pools, but in reality it less but larger pools are sectioned, but this of course is not an issue. There were buffet menus for breakfast and dinner (2 sittings I believe last one at7pm). The food was varied and tasty. If you think however you require snacks outside breakfast/dinner please bring with you as I didn’t notice anywhere available on site to buy anything. There is a bar however on site for coffee, drinks and there was an ice cream freezer too, and also a bit of live entertainment for the guests whilst I was there.

Very nice and clean hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful. The room was clean. The food was delicious. The wellness is big and clean. The kids really liked the pools. There were children's programs almost all day. Nice and calm environment.

I was expecting a lot fro this hotel. Maybe that was the problem. Everything was good but i was just missing something. The staff was excelent ...very polite, welcoming. Rooms ware big comfortable. I juat did not found how to operate the fan on the toilet ...juat could not find the button. Spa ....well i must say i m a sauna guy so the pools i do not rate. Saunas - not a lot of them ....but you can definetly live with what is there. Also the best sauna is outside ...nice and big. Also doing there the sauna rituals (pretty good one). And also i like that they are doing the sauna culture there right ....no swimsuits allowed in saunas. Oh and i almost forgot. They also have a pool next to the sauna where you can cool down (like 12 degrees celsius is the water). Would prefer like 8 but still good enought.

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. We were satisfied with everything, except for the fact that the treadmill didn't function in the gym. The spa with the outdoor pools is exceptional, the view of the salt hill is breathtaking. Staff could smile more, but they are polite and helpful. Great place for relaxing and for going on excursions in the nearby mountains.
