Hunguest Hotel Aqua Sol

We wanted to have a direct access to the Hajduszoboszlo Spa and this was the reason we selected this Hotel for our stay. The Hotel has some late 80's early 90's style and you can have that feeling that you are in that era again... The building would strongly need some renovation, furnitures are really outdated, bathrooms are even more (old faucets, taps, bathtub, toilet...). I had some serious concerns with the cleanliness of the Hotel, incl. room and restaurant area. In our room the carpet seemed to have a bleach-accident, but it was also not super-clean. Air-condition was really loud, also an old one, not working properly. I struggled to find a clean plate, cutlery or glasses next to the food buffet (once I tried 4 different plates, and found dried food on the bottom of each, glassess and cutlery had greasy stains on them - not dried water, but visibly something else...) Hotel staff is generally nice, except some waiters in the restaurant area who were visibly avoiding guests and has some "disgust" on their faces when it comes to any guest request. They also do not welcome guests. There are a lot of trainees / students as well, but they are really trying hard and they did a great job. Variety of food is big, quality is ok... It is not a nice sight when the cook is coming out of the kitchen, checking if there is enough food under the heating cover and find something sticked to the lid, remove it with his bare hands and throw it back to the pot... I would select a different hotel if I go back to Hajduszoboszlo. Entrance fee to the HungaroSpa is included except some areas (slides, premium area) for that you have to pay extra of course. For this price level (and with 4 stars) I would expect more.

We selected this hotel as it has a direct connection to the Spa and some spa services are included into the price. But the Hotel itself was a disappointment for me. The building is in a good shape but furnitures, equipments (e.g: air-conditioning, taps, faucets, baths) are not so much... I had the feeling they use the original things from the 90's. My biggest issue was with the cleaniness. In the restaurant we have found several dirty plates, cutlery and glasses on the newly dressed tables or next to the self-service buffet. Hotel staff is nice (in most of the cases, except our arrival at the reception desk), there are a lot of student/trainee in the restaurant area who makes some mistakes or a bit clumsy but that is fine, they are super nice, but the older staff members are more seemed to be irritated by all the guests' requests. They seemed to avoid the tables and the eye-contacts with the guests, what was a bit strange. We haven't tried the own wellness section of the hotel, as we spent more time in the spa. From price-quality perspective I would not choose this hotel next time, as I expected something nicer for that price level.

We are an elderly couple ( I am 79 and my spouse 70 years old) who stayed at the hotel in the first half of May 2024. We came for14 days of rehabilitation after the full knee replacement surgery. We asked for a quiet room because we have sleeping problems due to our age and pain after surgery. Instead, we got a room on the street side and right to the noisy elevator. We literally had to use earplugs at night. By the way people stayed in the hotel 3-5 days mostly.
Staff and management mostly care about local customers only and not so much about those who came abroad. Doctors and medical staff do not speak English at all. Medical staff in mud woman procedure room are rude.
It looks like the room and especially the bathroom have not been upgraded in the last 40 years. The air conditioning didn't work and the ventilation was dirty. There is no spa with a sauna in the hotel.
On the positive side, food was relatively good.
Overall the hotel can be classified no more than 3 stars and is clearly overpriced for the level of service and stay provided.
