Reviews
Day 2: The workers are not good, the lunch was really bad and there was no choice of food we had to ask the workers to give us we asked the workers to bring more food they gave us frozen shnitzel, so we went to the reception to tell them that the food was awfull and to give us money back, the owner of the hotel (Yulia) didnt give us anything. The hotel is dirty and it has a lot of cockroaches. The hotel is located 10 minutes from the dead sea.
No smoking zones are technically defined (with signs) but not enforced, so the smell of cigarettes is common around the pool (including kids area).
At the restaurant they don’t wait until you finish eating. They take the food from you and make you leave.
The cards from our rooms were working a couple of times and after that you need to change them. We change the cards at least 2 times. Not recommending this hotel.
#2 Horrible beds. Old and uncomfortable.
#3 Low quality food. While there is an abundance of food, much of it was either dried out, greasy, bland or otherwise unappealing. Limitations in quality control can also be seen in the broken water bottle at our table.
#4 This hotel is not ideal for non-Hebrew speakers. It was hard to get basic information. For example, what is the best way to get to the beach? Maps and activities were only listed in Hebrew.
#5 It is difficult to describe the spa where my husband and I each got massages. As mentioned in #4, it was difficult to get information. We thought we were getting a couple's massage and that wasn't the case. During our massages we were told little and asked nothing. During the mud wrap portion of the experience, we were left alone in a dank room with no music but at least there was a clock on the wall. The physical setting could be described as rustic at best. But that may make it seem appealing.
There are more negatives--see other reviews!
Were there any positives? Yes.
#1. There are signs in the main lobby that this was once a grand hotel. Unique artwork can be found in the main halls.
#2. There was excellent water pressure in the shower.
This is the only disappointing hotel during our two week Israeli visit.
Not all of the reception desks were open so there was a queue. The service was good.
Managed to catch sunrise from the room balcony too.
I asked hotel staff for a glass of ice at 800 pm dinner staff said we don't have any more ice. Went to front desk asking for a glass of ice told to go to the bar. Bar staff did give me a small glass of ice. I'm an American we love ice. Let me haven't access to an ice machine and I will leave you alone.
