Nice but not up to scratch

A spectacular hotel! It is beautiful and so centrally located we didn’t take one taxi. Karim at the front desk and the meticulous housekeeping staff made sure our rooms were set with welcome treats for Hilton Honors status. Bilal the concierge helped us get a reservation for our favorite dinner of the trip. Fouad in the Palace Restaurant went above and beyond to help us find a valuable item we had accidentally left at breakfast. The Waldorf Jerusalem is a very special place.

My family is staying for a few days to do some sightseeing in the Holy land. What an impressive hotel and wonderful customer service. Everything from front desk, concierge to housekeeping. We needed an extra bed for my teenage daughter and Muhammed ensured she had a roll a bed brought in and set it up himself with fresh linen. He really takes great pride in his job and working for Waldorf Astoria Hilton Hotels. Cheers to everyone at the Waldorf - great experience to be here!

I stayed here a while ago with my wife when visiting Jerusalem. It seems like I forgot to post a review for this place.
The staff is super friendly and professional. I received an upgrade to king grand deluxe from the king accessible room due to status. I was was guided to my room and shown the amenities, including how to operate the "in mirror" tv in the bathroom.
The room is spacious, clean, and the access the the patio/balcony was nice. I could walk the "roof top' area for the "original" building.
The food was excellent too, my included breakfast was bountiful with a lot of choices.
So we have this very nice hotel with great service and staff, but the cherry on top is the location. It's a walking distance from the Old City (maybe around 15 to 20 mins walk).
Would definitely stay here again if in Jerusalem.

Superb location, oversized rooms, and unique spa and pool area. Unfortunately, service was quite underwhelming except for the helpful concierge. Staff goes through the motions but aren’t particularly friendly or helpful that you’d expect at a luxury hotel. Massive mediocre breakfast buffet. No outdoor space - it’s closed until summer which makes no sense. Would be better to have higher quality and less options. If you’re looking for a safe and predictable option this is for you. Otherwise there are better adjacent luxury hotels for the same price.

The Waldorf Astoria in Jerusalem is a fantastic facility, but much of the staff just doesn't care about service. We had a wonderful room with a balcony, but couldn't sleep because the mattresses were a wreck - old and worn out, providing no support.
First, the front desk told us to come early; they would get our room ready fast. We ended up being ignored for two hours. They didn't even have a room in mind for us. Luckily, there was a fantastic employee in the Concierge department who invited us to the restaurant for coffee while she chased our room. We were able to stay in touch with her the next day, and she fixed the mattress problem and got us some compensation.
Then, the Tea and Scones at the restaurant was attractive, but didn't adhere to the traditional menu (no clotted cream). The waitress didn't care, and tried to pass off whipped cream instead.
Finally, at the rooftop Garden Terrace, the waiter forgot our drink order. We had to chase him for it, and he wasn't at all apologetic.
As I said, fantastic facility, but most of the staff is below par for high-end hotel.

There are many other hotels providing 5 star service much better than the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem. You would be better off staying at the David Citadel or the King David hotels to receive the accommodations and service expected at this price point. The Waldorf provides excuses but not solutions to the many issues encountered at their hotel. Reducing rates on check out does not remedy the problem. This is a hotel to avoid!

We met friends in the lobby. Had a snack which was OK.... Very pricey.... I am interested to know who cleans all the silver..... Altogether a positive experience in a wonderful position

We had afternoon tea to celebrate a family graduation. Unfortunately the afternoon tea itself was a little underwhelming. The scones and cakes were good and the sandwiches were OK. However, the bread was really dry and it took a few complainants for them to change it, but once it was changed the sandwiches were great.
The servers definetly made a good effort.
All in all it was a decent experience but not the amazing experience we were expecting which was disappointing especially considering the high price. It has potential but lots of room for improvement.
