Hotel Youri Il Magnifico in Genoa

I stayed in the economy double room with my girlfriend. Initially we were pleasantly surprised by our private toilet, in-room shower and the air conditioning, but we soon realized why this is a 2 star hotel. After returning from dinner at approximately 22:00, we were greeted by a door that seemed impossible to unlock, (even after a long and redundant phone conversation with who was presumed to be the manager.) Things only worsened when we realized that there was no one inside the hotel to let us in. We eventually made it to our room, but the lack of a consistent receptionist continued to be an issue throughout our stay. Beginning at around 23:00 each night of our stay, a constant onslaught of slamming doors, arguing (mostly over payment) and high-heel clicking began that did not cease until dawn the next morning. After taking a brief walk around Genoa after dusk, it became clear that we were hearing the comings and goings of prostitutes. As two young women traveling alone, we felt that it was not safe for us to leave of room at night. Additionally, during the day (sometimes as early as 10:00!) there were lines of prostitutes in the neighborhood around the hotel as well as other sketchy characters. For this reason, I urge any families or female travelers to avoid this hotel at all costs, or at the very least exercise extreme caution. You get what you pay for.

..."experience" not to be repeated, almost non-existent cleaning, inadequate rooms and spaces. The only plus point is the central location close to every service... Having only Sky in the room is not enough to have a sufficient score and to make the stay satisfactory.

Really central location but there are too many problems: 1) hard to find since the sign is 20 meters from the entrance and this is a simple door of a building 2) really dirty room with stains in the bathroom that looked like blood 3) mold in the bathroom with peeling walls 4) bathroom too small and a toilet flush system that is indicated as delicate. If you use too much paper it clogs and they charge you €300 for plumbing. (All indicated by a sign) 5) toilet not fixed to the floor... 7) doors with a "homemade" lock 8) blood stain on the pillow... Very polite guy at reception. I wouldn't go back
