Santa Chiara Boutique Hotel

Fantastic hotel with great service. I had arrived after not sleeping for a few days, and the staff did everything to help me have a comfortable stay. They upgraded my room for no charge, and they also brought me juice and snacks, as I was clearly tired and dehydrated. They treated me, a complete stranger, like a family member. Thank you to Michele and Natalya for being so kind!
The large suite feels like staying in a Palazzo. The bed was so comfortable I was able to sleep for the first time in 72 hours, and the room was spotlessly clean. I can’t wait to return to Naples—I will certainly choose to stay here again.

We stayed one night here and have mixed reactions.

First the good:

The rooms were large and very well appointed with some cool historic details. The bed was super comfortable, the air conditioning worked great, and the WiFi was strong and fast.

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful; they ordered a cab for us in the morning and helped me locate an ATM. They carried our luggage into our room, and just were generally nice.

The bad:

The entrance to the hotel is on a pedestrian street, and our taxi driver who brought us from the airport wouldn’t drive to the hotel entrance. This meant we (not quite elderly by getting there) had to roll three suitcases about 100 yards over rough cobblestone streets.

[sidenote: When we left this morning, the taxi called by the hotel WAS able to drive to the entrance because it was early enough not to interfere with pedestrian traffic]

The other big downside is that there is absolutely no sign for the hotel on the street. Google maps showed where the building was, but entering through some big graffiti-ed doors (open until 6:30 pm, when they close for the evening) and walking into the courtyard, there’s no visible sign that the hotel is even in there.

My partner has bad knees and we initially missed the hotel completely so after backtracking a couple of times, I left him with our luggage on the street while I tried to locate the hotel. Frustrated, I asked a couple of shopkeepers near where it was supposed to be and neither of them had a clue where it was. Turns out the entrance was right across the street!

I entered the courtyard where the hotel was supposed to be and this time walked all the way in, near where the elevator shaft was. There I saw a tiny brass sign with the hotel’s name on it.

I went out again to collect my partner and our luggage, and by the time we got back to the entrance the doors were in the process of closing. I’m not sure what we would’ve done if they had closed completely, as the only way to open them again was with a code you have to get from the hotel reception.

It was hot, we were tired and crabby by the time we got upstairs. Not a great start.

I’ve posted a video of the walk to the hotel and it gives an idea of the doorway to look for. We didn’t need to enter a code because the front door staff was watching for us through video cameras. My advice if you’re going to get there after 6:30 pm is to call and get the door code in advance!

Loved the central location of this hotel located on the 3rd floor of a residential condo building. Locked with a gate and secure, kind service, large room for a family. It was wonderful and we loved Napoli. Thank you!

I simply cannot say enough about this hotel experience. The hotel itself is exquisite and charming. The location is perfect. The staff, all of the staff, from the front desk to the housekeeping to the breakfast, are superb. I recommend the breakfast which includes yogurts and pastries, and fresh, prepared eggs and espresso drinks and fresh squeezed juices in a lovely dining room. This would definitely be a location we return to and are so grateful for how well we were taken care of, especially because we were traveling as a family of six, in two different rooms, and when one member of the family became sick, the staff were so attentive. We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Santa Chiara Boutique Hotel. The Hotel location is right in City Center but behind a huge door and once you enter the Courtyard, it is quiet and charming. The room was comfortable and the rooftop terrace was wonderful. The Staff were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast each morning was good.

Our hotel was very nice and great location. Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was great. The rooftop was breathtaking.

This is a hidden gem in the bustling center of the city. It’s beautifully designed and the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. The building itself is beautiful with a rooftop terrace that gives you an intimate 360 view of the city. Will recommend anyone who comes to Naples to stay here.

AMAZING HOTEL! This has to be, by far, the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at! The rooms were clean and stocked with whatever you needed. The hotel is also, walking distance from multiple restaurants, shops, and bars, so you don’t have to worry about walking far. Without a doubt, the best part about this hotel is the staff! They are absolutely wonderful and friendly! If you stay here, I highly recommend you visit the rooftop patio, especially at sunset, to see an amazing view of Mount Vesuvius. I also recommend getting the breakfast buffet because the food here is amazing! They had everything from pastries to assorted meats and cheeses, as well as coffee made to order. I will definitely be staying here again, if I come back to Naples.

It's great that there's not much to add. The score is above all expectations. Everything is perfect from the rooms to the breakfast with amazing staff. See you soon
