Had a fantastic 4 night stay here, the staff could not do enough to help you, were so friendly and went out of their way to make sure you had a good stay. Overall a solid place to stay, yet very overpriced. Big plus for spacios bathrooms and the engaged staff. Regarding the beds I can assure you from travel experience in 3rd world countries: These DO NOT come short in giving you a 3rd world experience. North Korea provides better beds, without a doubt. Even in the Swiss military I've had more comfortable beds, it was a shame.

I recommend it with flying colors! Very kind and hospitable staff were able to accommodate all our requests and information. The hotel is located in the very center of the city with attention to every detail. Suites with jacuzzi and spa offer moments of complete relaxation.

This hotel is fine, but I’m not sure it warrants 5*. On our first night we were given a room with no shower (!) which seems a bit unusual for a hotel of this standard. After complaining the staff kindly offered to change us to another room at no incremental charge, but I think this is very unusual for a 5* (and certainly should have been communicated more clearly on the website to avoid the unpleasant...

This hotel offers a perfect location for a visit to Santa Margherita and Portofino. The dock is in easy walking distance for a boat trip to Portofino, and there is also a train station within and easy walk. Lots of restaurants are nearby as well. The hotel is very nice, and the staff is excellent!

Gorgeous stately hotel on a perfect stretch of rocky beach, just a short walk from the center of town in Santa Margherita Ligure. Perfect place to have lunch, also, with a scenic view of the city, marina, and sea.

Hotel was absolutely beautiful and spotless. You always see someone cleaning something. Beautiful flowers everywhere too. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Excelsior Hotel in Rapallo, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. I had a really good short stay here in November. It was quieter than usual (only passed it in the summer when it was extremely busy). They have a great location, proper 5-star service. The mirrors in the room were a little old but that's part of the charm. The entire hotel looked like an 18th century aristocrat's home inside. It was beautiful.

I just love the vibe! Old charm and attentive service. The views are just magical. Only thing that could be better - arrangement of sun beds in beach club. Sun beds shouldn’t be booked with towels for the time they are not actually occupied. At least the ones that are close front by the water. What a wonderful hotel. Built into the hills of Portofino. The town is walkable easy walking there a little climb on the way back 15 - 20 minutes. The staff in the hotel are attentive, friendly and make your stay seamless. They also organise car parking if needed. Room was very clean. There's room service and the breakfast is excellent.
