Grand Hotel Parco del Sole - All Inclusive

We arrived back from a weeks stay this morning and my husband and I are so happy to be home. On arrival on Friday 23rd September going into Saturday the 24th we were advised food was available down stairs in the dining room. What we actually got was THE worst salad (if you could call it that) on a plate wrapped in cling film. These were not kept cold but left on tables with bottles of water. We just had to grab one from the tables where others had been seated and left.
The rooms are dirty, the shower, silicone, glass screen and shower head full of dirt and lime scale.
The hotel is very very dated and was probably fabulous 30 years ago. Everything is tired and grotty.
Food is shocking. We ate out everyday even though we were all inclusive.

Frontage of hotel gives a rooms have been renovated the bathrooms haven't . We asked to be moved on arrival due to lift being next to room. Bathroom smelt of drains due to sink not draining properly. Shower head had a mind of its own which meant sometimes alot of water went on door frame and was very mouldy. Don't look to closely at bathroom decorating, grouting and painting was shocking. Towels for rooms and the pool are all thread bare. Lunch times and breakfast were very repetitive. BBQ evenings shows a glimmer of what could be and what used to be at this hotel. Some staff were pleasent and some not so. Pool area was very busy so if you were hoping for some relaxing and a swim forget it. If a pool full of inflatables, screaming kids etc then this is the place for you. Road is very busy at the front with little foot paths, however we were aware of this . The reception area is very nice however the public areas need alot of work.

Hotel needs renovation asap, there is no way it is 4 star hotel, 2 or maybe 3 star max. Carpet looks dirty, everything is pretty old and dated. The only positive thing is staff, very friendly and kind, always happy to help, some were annoyed at times at the bar area as it gets very busy at times and they were probably too tired to work. Lady in the bar was super nice. Cocktails were good, better when served in a glass rather than in a cheap looking plastic cup, but I imagine its due to some people can break the glass by the pool which isn’t safe. Food is ok, lunch and dinner with good options and tasty food, breakfast was quite poor, unless you are happy to eat just sugar (pastries and sweets), no big variety of fruits, no vegetables, from healthy options just eggs, tomatoes and salad. Coffee was quite poor at the breakfast, very disappointing, for 4 star hotel you can have a coffee machine and not instant coffee which becomes grey when adding milk. No black tea available. Unbearable smell in the canteen area so we always sat outside. They do special nights for dinner which was great, entertainment was also good. Wine and drinks were good.
I would also advise them to check out all the plates and cutlery and change them for a better quality ones or just have a new set of tableware. All tablecloths to be changed and replaced. Towels were changed daily but need to be changed for new ones with better quality, or at least new ones. All furniture is dated and need to be changed asap. Insulation isn’t the best, you can hear what’s going on in the corridor. Wifi often disappeared so we had no internet connection. We had 2 things broken in the room during our stay, these were fixed quite quickly but still.. you can also see mould in the corridor's ceiling.
Shuttle to Sorrento is available but does not run very often, otherwise to walk is 25 min but the road is not for walking really, so location is not the best but close to Marinella beach which was good. Hotel communication prior arrival was poor, couldn’t inform about the shuttle service, when I called hotel did not offer any taxi service, so we ended up walking which was bad experience.
As much as I would love to say how amazing everything was I am unfortunately not able to, Vincenzo and his staff were amazing, as well
as receptionists and hotel owner, thanks to them and the team our stay was very warm, otherwise I would not recommend the hotel and would probably not be back due to it being so dated. For all inclusive very close to Sorrento it is still a good value for money I guess.
