Grand Hotel de la Ville

Hotel Grand de la Ville is elegant, comfortable, and perfectly located. The staff are warm and attentive, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the rooftop pool offers stunning views. A wonderful place to stay in Sorrento.

The environment is very beautiful and pleasant

It takes about 7 minutes to walk from the train. The hotel is very clean and tidy, especially comfortable. The hotel checked in early and the staff were very friendly. The hotel has a rooftop with a great sunset view. I watched the sunset for 2 days. The breakfast was also good (I was not used to the dinner but the service was good 😄). It is a 15-minute walk from the pier. It is a great location and I will come again if I have the chance.

Facilities: The room facilities are very new and comfortable.

Hygiene: Clean and tidy, with daily cleaning service.

Environment: Very close to the beach, opposite the lemon orchard.

Service: The dining is very good, and we eat at the hotel every night.

This may be the best hotel I've ever been to! Everything from the staff to the room to food to the amenities was incredible. The views were awesome. I remembered Michel who works at the front and another Michel at the pool and literally everyone in staff made it so comfortable for me, my baby (who they all adored) and my husband(he is not a city person so Sorrento was heaven for him!) We really did not want to leave at all. The breakfast is one of the best breakfasts I've had. Michel gave such great service at the bar with the freshest best orange juice and went out of his way to find sweeter wines for us (He may have climbed many steps to get it for us!) I will definitely come here again!

Everything was wonderful and the breakfast was very good. The roof top bar upstairs was very romantic, and there were also people playing songs. It was a wonderful evening.

Great location in the heart of Sorrento. Close enough to restaurants and shopping but located in a quiet area so that you can relax if desired. The rooms are lovely and very clean. The staff at this hotel is amazing and goes about and beyond to make guests feel valued. Our favorite was Anna at the lobby bar. She was super friendly, made amazing drinks and always made sure we were tended to. We had a great time chatting with her in both English and Italian and appreciated her going out of her way to accommodate out 7 year old as well.

Upon arrival the hotel is located in a great position slightly away from the hustle of Sorrento.
The garden area was so tranquil for breakfast & lunch, our dinner experience in the main dining room was exceptional especially the service. Mario Samuel & the team were always accommodating with all your food needs.
The roof top bar is unbelievably the best spot to be when visiting the hotel especially at night.
The pool facilities are private and quiet, the rooms are spacious & super comfortable.
Overall the best experience for our Amalfi holiday.

Stayed here for a long weekend in June celebrating a special anniversary with my wife. We booked based on reviews, location and the roof pool.

The decor is lovely, traditional but modern. All very clean, staff well trained.

Room was lovely, comfy bed and nicely decorated. I had a few issues with it.
First one was the location, I had requested a nice room as it was a special occasion, no guarantee fair enough but we had neither a pool view nor a garden view. We were in a part of the hotel where the only room on each floor faced out onto a fairly grim side street.
Second issue was we had a lot of ants in our room the first morning. We had a cheeseboard and bubbles delivered to the room, granted it should have been collected that night but I didn't expect to wake up to hundreds of ants. The cleaner sorted it after a call.
Last issue was a minor one but frustrating. There is no fan in the bathroom so post shower, the mirror is unusable for long periods and the only other mirror is a glass front on the mini fridge which is where my wife was doing her makeup awkwardly etc. It lacks a floor length mirror just outside the bathroom on the hallway into the bedroom.

The pool on the roof was a big plus. It's got great views, the pool is nice (albeit cold) and the bar is great plus you just sign and it's added to your bill so it's very handy.

We got great views up there for sunset too with a drink.

The breakfast is lovely; lots of choice and nice room. We didn't eat in the hotel besides. Hotel is well populated by overseas guests, a lot of older couples or those with older kids which is fine.

Staff on front desk very professional but not that warming or friendly.

Would I recommend it, yes for sure. I wouldn't stay in the same room though.
