Mediterranea Hotel & Convention Center in Salerno

A convenient hotel if you're traveling by car. The photos on Booking.com give the impression that there’s a pool, but it actually belongs to the beach club across the street. I initially felt disappointed and considered asking for a refund, but the receptionist was so welcoming that it really changed my mood.

The room was nice, but it lacked an iron, and when I asked at reception, they said the hotel doesn’t provide one — quite surprising for a 4-star hotel. Breakfast had an extra charge of €10, so I skipped it, but I went down for a coffee and, despite being busy, the staff was very quick and friendly in preparing two coffees for me. I also want to compliment the housekeeping team — they were very kind and helpful.

The hotel has a great staff overall — well done!

There is no kettle in the room and nowhere to get warm water in the morning until breakfast has started

Structure maybe a few years old but always excellent and kept in excellent condition.
Comfortable room with only a couple of small defects: very small shower and room temperature that I was unable to reduce in any way...
Excellent breakfast with lots of sweet pastries and also with savory rustici.
Parking maybe a little narrow but I had no difficulty parking
Overall very pleasant experience.

The hotel's location is great as it is near a beach and close to public transportation such as the train station and bus stop. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. However, there were no vegetarian options for breakfast, only different types of bread, so I was disappointed. The room was otherwise good and spacious with a balcony. Overall, I found this hotel to be average and nice. It's a suitable option if you're travelling on a budget and can find it at a lower rate.

I had a great stay. Carlo and the other staff made my stay memorable. From the time I checked in and the time I checked out, it was great. The people who worked at the front desk were nice. I spoke to Carlo most of the time. He was really helpful. Gave directions to places I needed to go to. The breakfast buffet had a lot of traditional Italian pastries. They had American-ish breakfast like scrambled eggs, toast and cereal, but I had to try the all the pastries. The staff were all so helpful and welcoming. I looked forward to waking up early every morning to eat breakfast and take my time. The room was clean and spacious. I liked the balcony which overlooks the beach. Checked in a month ago. It was humid out and it was nice to come back to a room that had AC after a long day of exploring the coast. I wish I had stayed longer and explored Salerno in the daytime. The area was safe and had easy access to the highways. Very short walk to the Salerno train station. There are buses not too far the hotel. Overall convenient location. I brought my dog with me and there was a charge of 10€ a day. Thank you Carlo for making my first trip to Salerno memorable. Thanks for the other staff as well. Hope to stay here in the near future.
